Aboutmontclair is a fantastical town in the bustling state of new jersey that prides itself upon being cultured, open minded, and "suburban-but-not-too-suburban", especially due to our proximity to the glorious new york city.
as of now, this community's purpose is simply a great gathering place for the citizens of montclair. you are welcome to talk about whatever you want, whomever you want.
we wholeheartedly embrace all of the qualities that our beautiful and diverse town so adequately embodies, and hope to assert such qualities within this livejournal community.
in other words, have fun. and don't run with scissors. or use an electric toothbrush for anything except brushing your teeth.
SOME HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS TO KEEP THIS COMMUNITY AWESOME.
1. respect all members of the community. everyone has different opinions, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. however, racist, sexist, homophobic, or prejudice comments of ANY kind will not be tolerated. please understand that in violation of any of the above, you can and you will be banned, no questions asked.
2. though it's important to keep this community as open as possible, please refrain from making pointless posts with quiz results or asking for livejournal codes. there are other communities for finding livejournal codes, and if you feel that posting quiz results is so absolutely necessary as to be the only reason you get up in the morning...put it behind a lj-cut or under ONE post.
3. when you join, post an introduction! since we're all from montclair, and the majority of us go to the same school - we'd like to know who you are, and if we don't - we'd like to get to know you.
4. get more people to join.
5. along the same lines as the second guideline, please refrain from making stupid and irrelevant posts. if you have trouble grasping what a "stupid and irrelevant" post is, you can ask me. or you can just read your own livejournal for some helpful hints. i'm just kidding. no, but really.
