yeah, so i know nobody has used this in a while, but i figured what the hell. i wanted to rant about teh 'box, so here it is.

shut the fuck up about bush. every thread in CE or R&P has someone make some snide comment about the bush administration, even when they have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DAMN THREAD. even when they do, some of the comments are complete non-sequitors used only to make points by people who think they're hip because they can parrot anti-administration garbage like everyone else. ooh, you're special and creative, you managed to cut and paste one of three hundred other bush-bashing posts and use it out of context. rock on.

i won't name any names, because these people stand out, but for the love of my gods can we have something that doesn't mention bush? please?

I figured I'd just bring this up and didn't know if you guys were aware of it or not. Apparently the WWDN feed into LJ recently earned distinction on fandom wank because of a kerfluey between some commenters.

Yeah I know and I'm sure all of you know too that Wil doesn't read or respond to the comments there...I imagine if it was really important one of us could send him an email with the link to it or something...but does it wear your patience as much as it does mine to see the same reminder so frequently in those comments?

That's what I figured I'd use this for. making comments/statements that would wind up in CE or R&P that I didn't feel like having flamed, debated, and dissected. So here it is.

This country stinks. I mean it smells bad; burning trash, sewage, petrochemicals, busted vehicles, you name it. Despite having seen Babylon and Ur, as well as Saddam's palaces in baghdad and Basrah, and a really nifty mosque, I'll still be glad to leave here. And for future would-be tourists, I recommend hitting the highlights mentioned above and steering clear of the rest.
