| Bringing Ritual Back: Advance Tickets Available Now @ The FALL: $5 |
[14 Jan 2008|11:32pm] |
This is not a performance, but rather an opportunity to understand and witness first hand the procedures used in safe modern day body suspension practice, as well as a chance to support and share my experience which will ensue afterward.
Proceeds generated from this presentation will go toward future SusCons and body suspension seminars held by The FALL and the Modern Body Suspension team.
Tribal sounds will be delivered by Vancouver's own DJ Patient Zero.

[02 Jan 2008|01:37pm] |
Hello everyone,
Just thought I'd make a quick post to give a sneak peek of an upcoming documentary on body modification. My fiance is the producer and much of the filming has been done here in Vancouver as well as Toronto during the BMEfest week.
http://www.openeyes.tempco.org
This video will stream from your existing media player and is not available for download.
Also, I have now teamed up with The FALL tattooing at 644 Seymour St. in Downtown Vancouver. I am available there seven days a week for all of your piercing and modification needs. Our facility has a full art gallery on the ground level, 2 private piercing rooms and 4 tattoo booths. We have about 7 artists working with us currently as well as Vanessa and myself piercing.
I will be holding future body suspension events in this studio in the future. Come check it out!

Best wishes for 2008, everyone! :)

More venting...
Here's a tip:
When you want to get a tattoo, have at least a general idea of what you want a tattoo of. Don't look at the artist to pick for you. That person doesn't know you that well and has no idea of what will make you happy for the rest of your life. We can make broad suggestions, but that's about it. Know what you want and know where you want it. We'll even stencil the design and place it in a few spots for you to decide. But have at least some preference!
Here's another:
And if you walk into any bod-mod facility, don't get huffy when you can't be worked on right at that very moment. Just because there is no one in the chair at that current time does not mean that there is time. There is cleaning and prep work to be done. Maybe someone else has an appointment booked in 15 minutes later and you just can't be squeezed in. Maybe we just need a little more time to prepare what you want. Maybe every thing is in the chemiclave and wont be done for 40 minutes. If you only have time now and can't come back in an hour, maybe you should have planned your day better.

| Underage Jerks. |
[22 Oct 2007|04:27pm] |
Hi. I'm a new poster.
Why do kids INSIST on lying to my face about their age? I had a girl in this morning who looked 14 but claimed she was 19. When I asked to see I.D. she claimed that her wallet got stolen the previous night...yeah sure. Maybe I am horribly wrong and she really is just a 19 year old girl who has bad luck and will look forever young. But I'm more willing to put money on her being a little shit disturber who doesn't have the good sense to wait a few years.
If you are underage and want to get a tattoo and are trying to lie and scam your way to your goal, please consider the following:
There are no age restrictions in B.C. for body modification. The generally accepted 18 year consent is enforced through shops who know that at that age, it's unlikely you'll make a good lifelong choice. We enforce this because we have endless parades of people in their 20's that come in for cover-ups while saying "I wish I had waited" or "I don't know what the hell I was thinking."
Young people tend to get small, sticker-like tattoos on the prime canvas spots of their bodies. That quarter sized tribal dragon head probably looked awesome on your little arm when you were 15, but now your arms are triple the size and it looks like you have a horrid birthmark and to get anything decent means the artist is impeeded by having to work around or over your previous garbage.
If you slip in under the radar with false I.D. and dirty dirty lies, you may doom the shop you chose. If your parents go into a rage and drag the owners into court, they'll probably countersue with fraud and the whole thing will be a wash. Except the bad reputation will linger like death. Plus the ordeal is a pain in the ass.
And to stop wasting everyone's time, these do not work: *I lost my wallet so I have no ID *My mom can't come down. She's out of town...but she said it was alright. *I am over 18. I even brought a whole group of equally underage looking friends that will vouch for me! *My boyfriend is my legal guardian. No I swear!

Hey everyone,
I'm moving to Vancouver in July and I've never been there before. I'm an Ottawa kid, so I was wondering if anyone in this community is familiar with Ottawa and could maybe answer some questions for me? I know absolutely nothing about Vancouver - so this is gonna be quite the experience.
If anyone was ever in my shoes and knows what downtown Ottawa is like - I'd be interested in some advice.
(With regards to piercing/tattoo shops, the dirtiest pubs in town, and the smallest, sweatiest, grossest rock out venues in town)
