G: May be seen/read by anyone, regardless of age. No sex, no drugs, no violence..etc etc think childrens movie
PG: May be read by anyone, with a some amount of non descriptive and passing nuidity,violence,drugs etc etc
PG-13: Not for anyone under the age of 13, a little more is allowed than PG but not much. Sex scenes are allowed, but without detail. Nudity is ok, but from the waist up only and not descriptive.
R: Parental consent required for reading by anyone under the age of 18; stories may contain descriptions of sexual intercourse but will probably not be fully explicit.
