NOTHING is going smoothly. NOT A BLASTED THING.
The site will not be up for a while. The people I went with told me it would take 7 hours to migrate it. The original server people told me it would only take an hour. So I'm not sure what the hell is up with this.

Whatever. That is $150 an hour for seven hours. That would cost us $1050.00 I think not.

So I will be doing the thing myself. And I have to work all next weekend. So I can't guarantee it will be up for a while. I'm sorry.

Now i wish I had a real good tech person. I just don't know what I'm doing so it takes me so much longer than is necessary.

I'm sort of mad at these people for acting like they could do it. They start it then tell me they want to more than double the time they said it would originally take at $150 hour!

I mean, I can do the dang thing. I just wish it wasn't only me who could do it.

Yes, I second this. It would be a lot easier for you if Duncan could help you out.

I have school holidays starting next week - and Its a quiet week at work this week so I can help out anyway if you want.
I do alright with tech stuff.

Or I can ask my sisters partner if he'd help out... Most evenings he just sits at home playing counter strike or watching downloaded movies/tv programs.

Aimee, I will talk to Duncan when he gets home... I dont even know if it is possible for him to do what you need from a distance.. I hope so... you need someone else to run with the ball for a little while.. and dont worry when push comes to shove its your health and well being that matters most.. the rest of us will just practice patience and hope and all those other great virtues that really make the world go round.. Well, I guess that my biggest problem is dealing with getting done what I need to get done. I have to move everything over and configure it to work in a new database. That means that each line of our database needs to be changed. I think. I can't remember to be honest. I haven't started it yet.

Well, what I need to do is get a new database started on the new server, then change the database in all the millions *cringe* of lines of database. I saw that we have 3 million posts when I was downloading it last night.

I'm not as overwhelmed as I was. It will get done. It has to.

My server people are ignoring me now, lol. I think I'm not particularly endearing when I stress out.

If thats not suitable do the same tomorrow after 6.pm. BRITISH TIME ...and do your head in learning all that stuff... he doesnt think it will be necessary... but would have to know details...

I have just seen the homepage of the original site and finally I know why I couldn't enter in the forums. So it's the first time I'm in this LJ. I'm really sorry about the whole thing, maybe doesn't help a lot just to say it, but I trully feel that way. It was such a bad thing to hack that beautiful place.
