All the magazines are in love with those gladiator boots. I find them hideous. They remind me of these woven leather belts guys used to wear with their Duckheads in the late eighties, early 1990s.

You are right!! The magazine editors love the shoes and the exoskeleton suit because it's been on almost every magazine already.

Hopefully, Balenciaga has other items that actually sells. Do they have a perfume line or a hangbag line? The last I heard of the hangbag was Le Dix from like 4 years ago.

yes Jennifer is gorgeous but I really think that if N.G. used a good MODEL, people who don't really have the acquired appreciation for high fashion would like these easier. She doesn't do these clothes very much justice(in most of them) and they don't do her justice.

I know quite a bit when it comes to Balenciaga and Ghesquière but I don't think it really matters if people know about the house or designer when saying that they think something is ugly.
Different strokes for different folks.

but I know what you're saying, I have such a hard time defending anything Ghesquière creates to my friends who don't know anything when it comes to fashion haha

Having an appreciation for high fashion is no the same as blindly adoring every ridiculous creation these avant-garde designers create.

I have to admit, I love the suits. It is very distinctive and absolutely gorgeous. Is it wearable? No! But will people recognize it immediately? Hell yes! And that, is a plus in my book.

It reminds me of the metal plated mini dress from Dolce&Gabbana's AW 2007 collection. Very distinct and recognizable.

what I'm trying to say, everybody, is that this is ART.
and from what I've seen(read?), I think a lot of you have a very surface way of seeing things.
I don't think you have to know about the designer at all, I just think you should respect that SOME people think outside the box, take chances, and have a real vision. It's something that very few people possess and it should be celebrated.

ditto~ theyre avant garde in a great way and even though i'm generally not into celebrities as faces for fashion labels (keira for chanel), the hollywood glamour is taken away. she does look quite mascauline but if you see the runway pieces and the models, they are no different.

just can't beat s/s 2007. those androids where fucking angels, it was genius. i like it as 'haute-couture' which is a kind of art, but as ready to wear it's putrid.
