McQueen's tribute - Fashion Week Daily, Thursday, October 04, 2007

(PARIS) IN MEMORIAM: Alexander McQueen left no doubt as to whom his Friday night show, themed "La Dame Bleue," is dedicated to: his friend, the late Isabella Blow, who passed in May. The designer's oversized invitation arrived in a large sealed tube Wednesday, and in it was a poster-size illustration by Richard Gray of the late 48-year old fashion muse. Blow is vibrantly featured clad in a McQueen dress and signature Philip Treacy headpiece, stationed on a horse-drawn carriage being uplifted to heaven. Fortunately for those attending the show, a more manageable pocket-sized entrance ticket was clipped along with each poster.

This is überfab.
Everything is perfectly and wonderfully extreme, like Isabella. Perfect collection for her, I think.

I couldn't agree more :D This is the reason why McQueen will always be my favourite. I've been waiting so long to see this show, and I'm so happy it turned out the way it did. My eyes actually almost popped out of my head while I was looking through these shots.

Gorgeous, I love the little details and the shoes. I feel like a lot of the dresses would be better suited to curvier girls...

I completely was reminded of Isabella throughout the whole collection, so it's no surprise it's dedicated to her. How nice.
