[info]lesterbronze: Virgin welfare..?

Virgin seem to be giving everything away to welfare these days. I use virgin mobile and recently heard about some $10 120 minute deal, but then a friend then told me its only available to people who qualify for welfare. awesome deal, wish it was availaable to other low income people, like students! I'm worried everyone will think I’m a “welfare” qualifier when i pull my virgin phone out my pocket. They’ve attached an old cardboard sign to all virgin customers necks!

Does anyone have any more info on this to clear up this issue..?

[info]love_chuu: Halp~

Hello, all! Hopefully someone can help me! :)

I'm looking to buy a cell phone. I am a Sprint customer and am looking for a new phone. I want to be able to:

1. Upload my own ringtones. PC to phone. Fo' free.
2. Upload my own wallpapers. Animated would be even greater.
3. Text. No need for a qwerty pad but it should be able to text.
4. Not spend a ton on this phone.

What cell phones can you think of that fulfill these things? I think that I should be able to switch my number to a cell phone that has been unlocked, right? If it turns out to be a Sprint supported phone, all the better.

Please help! Thank you very much~

[info]puppytaco: ringtones

Hello everyone! I'm new here, but I just have a quick troubleshooting question.

I just got a really cheap $20 dollar go phone to use because my other phone broke and I can't get a new one until October. It's a Nokia 2610 and I have web access on it (IM and email). But here's my problem: I made a ringtone on phonezoo.com that I really want to use. I got the text with the link to download it, but when ever I try to access the link it says "No server access". I find that kind of weird since I can access the internet pretty easily otherwise.
So anyways, any ideas on what I can do, or why this isn't working?

[info]disbelieves: QWERTY phone recommendations?

Hi, new, &c.

Anyway. I am a huge QWERTY phone lover- I can't even use my old mobile any more for texting- and I'm getting a new one sometime soon. Currently, I have the LGKS360 in blue but TBH, I've had a load of glitches with it. (Mostly it deciding to turn itself off for no reason whatsoever and blinking on the start up screen). Sadness, as I loved this phone otherwise.

I've been looking at the HTC Touch Pro, BlackBerry phones, the T-mobile Sidekick, and the Nokia 5800 and N97 (which I will probably never be able to afford crycry).

But, basically, I need some recommendations for a good replacement.

[info]brokengirl1985: My review of the Quickfire

Comming over from T-Mobile, using their purple Nokia Xpress Music 5300 (which I LOVE),

I got my orange Quickfire mid December 2008, the week before Christmas as a gift from my mom. I've had it almost six months now, I'm on my second warranty replacement, and I can honestly say, I wish my mom had chosen another phone for me. There was no way for her to know that it would have issues, etc. have not had any issues with my charger or phone overheating like everyone else did...I can see the arrow on the charger plug and didn't plug the damn thing in wrong...but I am being sent a new charger anyway. I asked for another phone since I heard a lot of customers were sent replacement phones other than the Quickfire...

Pro's:
-Large, backlit screen
-Great for texting, which I do a lot of since I my mom got me unlimited text.
-Solid slider design, no problems with it comming apart, etc.
-My battery life is great, i've had my phone off the charger using it as much as I would a home phone, and it lasts and lasts.

Con's:
-No ways to add new themes, just the same blue and Grey...
-Can't assign ringers for phonebook entries unless they are saved to the phone, not sim.
-Volume on the highhest setting isn't very loud.
-It didn't come with a USB, or driver software for the USB, and once I did get one, drivers were installed and the Quickfire still didn't show up on my pc.
-Touch screen is mostly unresponsive, depending on the temp of my hands, and it does not respond to a stylus...
-Sadly, with the exception of custom ringers and wallpapers, there is not a lot of room for customization on the Quickfire...
-My phone randomly turns off anytime it feels like it...

[info]thin_lipid: Tracfone Service

I don't know how many people use or have considered using Tracfone, but don't.

Their service is shit. I had a problem with my phone and I lost 40$ worth of minutes and did they give me my minutes back? No. They made me sit on hold for a fucking hour and when I called back they did absolutely nothing for me.

DO NOT USE TRACFONE!

Hey everyone, I'm Kris, and I use T-Mobile prepaid (which I'm not too fond of their prepaid service...). I have a Nokia XpressMusic 5300 and I absolutely love it, but i'm about to switch back to Cricket mobile, and can't find a phone anywhere like it.
I love how you can upload ANYTHING to your phone by usb, and you can also set the mp3's you upload as ringtones...anyone know of a phone comparable to the XpressMusic 5300?

[info]crystalic_chick: Krzr question

Okay, so I recently got a Motorola Krzr. My phone didn't come with the Motorola Phone Tools or a USB cable but I got my friend to send me some songs via Bluetooth. I now have the songs on my phone and can listen to them using the MP3 player but I can't apply them as my ringtone! When I look at the details of the file, it says:

Forwarding Possible: Yes
Apply Possible: No

My question: is there any way to change that just using my phone? Or do I need to go out and buy a USB cable and MPT?
