Question of the Week
What is the PR that you most want to break? Can you just not break 30 minutes in the 5K? 2 hours in the Half? Do you consistantly run a certain time in a race and you want nothing more than a different time? I knew a girl who ran the exact same time in her 2 mile for over a month racing at least once a week and she didn't even care at that point if she ran slower she just wanted a different time :)

My main race in college track was the 5K and most road races around here are also 5K. The one thing I want to do is break 20 minutes, so that's my most sought after time. After my marathon, I think I'll do some specific 5K training for some of the summer road races and see if I can kick that barrier into submission!

Oh gosh, I don't even know where to start. I guess a sub 30-minute 5K would be nice, as I got pretty close to that last time. I actually think I could do a whole lot better than that once I get some speed work under my belt, but for now, under 30 would be nice.

Huzzah for speed work! I love speed work. Do you have a race coming up that you're working specifically on?

I've never done speed work before. I'm still really new to most aspects of running. I never ran in school, never had any kind of coaching, so I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm following the schedule from "Marathoning for Mortals," so today is my first day of training!

I have no races scheduled other TCM, but I will probably find a 5K or two to run and probaly a couple of longer distances.

I've only been running for about a year and my time has improved a lot from about 33 to 27 as my best time, but it would be nice to get it to 25. Right now though, I have been concentrating more on distance than speed.
There's a 10 miler in St. Paul on the 28th that I am going to try, we'll see how pitiful my time is on that one to set a new goal.
