I'd like to share some of my prints from my photography class (darkroom photography). Some are from last year but all these are taken in Milwaukee!

My scanner isn't great so the border got chopped off. This is a junk pile somewhere sort of near 1st street.

Hopefully some of you recognize the architecture as being the church on Kinnikinic by Bay View library.

Double exposure print. For those of you unfamiliar with darkroom photography, double exposure is where you take all the pictures, rewind the film, and take them again so images overlap each other. The best part about double exposure is that you never know which images cover which. The two images on this print are an old warehouse off of 1st street and a vase behind bars on Kinnikinic.

This double exposure print is composed of the same warehouse as above, and trees at Humboldt Park.

Would anyone out there be able to hook me up with a virus-free... *ahem* "liberated" version of Photoshop? Preferably a good version, like PS7 or CS. I've tried searching for and downloading a couple versions already, but each one was either incomplete, corrupt or trojan-ridden.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Someone asked for post production before and after posts, but I don't remember which community it was. Cross posted, anyway.
Edited in Picasa and Adobe Photoshop, first the JPG capture (Nikon D70, 18-70 kit lens), then the retouched version.

Villa Terrace

Over the Labor Day Holiday, I visited Milwaukee and went to Villa Terrace on the East Side. On Sunday's the house hosts live jazz concerts in the court yard. Pastries and coffee are offered and admission to the courtyard is free. Admission to the house and grounds is $5 (less w/ a student ID). I highly recommend it- the house and gardens are gorgeous. It looks like it would be a fun date idea.

The house was modeled after a villa in Tuscany & was designed by Louis Adler. The lake looks very ocean like from this view!

online graphic design courses?

I'm looking to take an online course in graphic design and also a course on how to use adobe illustrator. Has anyone ever taken one, and if so, where? Are they worthwhile? Can anyone recommend a reputable place? I am located in Milwaukee, I'd also be interested in local tech colleges that offer online courses if possible.

I just joined this community yesterday or the day before [can't remember which!], so hello everyone. :]

Anyway, last night I was on an adventure in Estabrook Park in Riverwest and decided to take a few pictures. I was extremely dissatisfied with the way that 3/4 of them came out, but nonetheless, here are 10 that I'm not terribly embarassed to share.

Tonight (technically, last night), my friends and I were walking around downtown and decided to check out the new discovery world. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Front row sunrise seat.

Just happened across this community and it looks like something I'm really going to be interested in. Milwaukee is an amazing place to take photographs - I never have to look very far for something that says something to me.

A perfect morning just north of Bradford Beach.
