Good Morning and welcome to Friday Funnies! I've already been called a smartass bitch today, and it's only 6:32 AM! Woo! It can only get better from here. Apparently, even my apologies are snarky.
Given my parking lot conversation with redneck de jour, I'm not in a great mood, so I'll skip the chitchat...except to say that if you have jokes, send them my way. Have a great day!

finally finished Amatsuki. wtf wtf wtf??? i don't think they've announced season 2. they're just going to end it like that?? gyaaaa! i don't have the time to read the manga. grrr~~ regardless of who the seiyuu were, i think i still would have liked Kon and Bonten. just glad they were Yusa Kouji and Suwabe-san. <333 the cast was sooooo schweet! (<_<) PakuRomi, SuzuKen, FukuJun, Kosugi-san, and NariKen!! mondo stellar~! so did Ginshu have a sex change? what made him a her? i don't get it??? i know Ginshu battled a snake youkai, but... wutz the dealio??? he was effeminate from the get-go, but when he flashed Kon and Toki their reaction made it seem like he wasn't a he anymore. (@_@) and the radio show is almost coming to its end. *sigh* i kinda want to get the dvd box set just to get the bonus cd that comes with it. *rolls eyes* i don't have money...
what i do have money for is for the new STA*MEN dvd. i just saw the cover. hehe!! they're all wearing gakuren! XDDDD i honestly shouldn't be spending $$$ and save, but since i couldn't register for school this semester... haha! part of my unused tuition money's going toward the cause of keeping STA*MEN alive! (^_~)b actually, i still will buy it even if i did register for skool. :P
speaking of making dorky purchases... the funny little man from the cd-shop in J-town found KouguchixKouguchi Zenbu Iri 1 & 2! i thought it wasn't possible, but he had a a friend in japan go directly to Marine Entertainment to ship the cds to san fran, just for me! gyaa! i gave up on them. i couldn't find any where that would ship those cds to US. i think the title "eroxero" made them think they're pron or something and it was one of those titles no one would send. but what do you know! i'm kinda afraid of how much they're going to cost. ($_$) with the import tax and stuff... i remember Long-san and Hard-san saying they've signed few of the new cds. *crossing fingers*
because i haven't been giving my cat, Dusty, much love on LJ...

Original Air Date: 19 October 1999
Oz comes to LA with a gift from Buffy. She has sent Angel the the Ring of Amara, which makes any vampire wearing it "unkill-able." Unfortunatly for Angel, Spike has also arrived in town and he's determined to get the ring for himself. Angel soon finds himself in deep trouble and it's up to Doyle, Oz and Cordy to save him.

the dark burgundy and the dark-veined ones put me back in the mind of creating a goth garden. after i came back from farthingparty (where i got the idea) i made a list of plants i'd like in it, but then the project stalled along with all my other garden projects. might be time to restart thinking about it and see whether i can pick up some starter plants cheap.
Today I had my first Russell class of the semester. How depressing. He talks too much. Srsly. I think I got brainwashed by him bcuz I came home thinking that my future career is gonna be in the field of interaction design... which is silly since I never once saw myself as an interaction designer. I don't even know what interaction design is! I feel like he brainwashed me into thinking that my life is all about interaction design and nothing else, and that my goal in life is to work my head off doing low paying jobs so I can become a successful interaction designer in like 10 years. Right. He is so full of bullshit. Anyone who thinks otherwise can come talk to me. I'll gladly give that person my spot in 338. Haha.
I really don't think I can take this any longer... I NEEEEEED to watch more QAF!! And I have.. I rewatched episode 1 and fangirled over Brian and Justin xD I remember when I first watched QAF and saw Brian & Justin for the first time, I was like, "Meh. Brian doesn't look all that hot... And Justin seems like an alright kid...". Brian (Gale Harold) is the type of guy who doesn't seem all that attractive the first time you see him, but becomes better looking the more you look at him. As for Justin.. he becomes more and more likable as the series goes on xD I couldn't stop squealing during the scene where Justin made his first appearance. I just hope I wasn't too loud... I don't want my parents to think I have gone mad...
Yesterday I started watching random gay films cuz I was so QAF deprived. I watched a bit of Trick, then found out I've actually watched it before... I have no recollection of having ever watched it, but I remembered the storyline somehow, so.. that was strange. The only gay film I remember ever watching online was Latter Days :/ I even rambled about it on my journal. There was nothing about Trick on my journal, however... Anyway, then I watched The Trip and ugh.. it was a sad one. =_= I didn't really like the characters that much tho, so thanks to that, I didn't cry or anything during the sad ending xD Instead, I was thinking, "Oh, is he gonna commit suicide?" Lol.
It's getting late.. I have a class tomorrow, but guess what? I'm gonna drop it. I have already decided... I'll take it next year. My original back up plan (if you can even call it a plan), was to drop 380, but umm.. I can't help it if 380 sounds 1000x more interesting than 432 ~_~ Plus that pretty tech boy is in my 380 lab xDD Aha... I just hope I don't regret my decision later. I tend to do that a lot.. Ya.. I make a lot of bad decisions...
I need my QAF DVDs!! When is it gonna f-ing get here?!! Oh, at least after I drop 432, I'll have Wednesdays & Fridays off. More time for me to rewatch cute little Justin scenes ^_^

I'm so sick of the whole subject. And it's only September. I always hate campaign season, especially in Puerto Rico where politics is the national pastime and half the population is too stuck on their own political parties to use their brain in a rational matter. If I were there, I wouldn't vote for governor this year. There's no one to vote for that's worth even half a damn. I'd vote for the Senate, but that's it. Even our mayor, who always wins, disgusts me. I really wish I could vote in the presidential elections, though, but I'm planning to be in London, so... In any case, I don't think I can take my grandparents saying how Obama has no experience one more time. Not that they're McCain people, but with my grandmother being a huge Hillary fan and the whole experience thing, which of course they're fixated on since they're in their 80s and McCain is actually younger than them. This isn't the first time we have gender gap issues. I just want for November to get here so this whole thing can be over and for Obama to win. Because the alternative scares me.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on the Visa. They said that the process takes from 7 to 10 business days and tomorrow is day 10, so I should get an e-mail together. I get so nervous over these things.

The first time Ryo sees Kame is on the beat up TV in his shared apartment. The broken stumps of Kame's wings, cauterized and sterile like the clean white arena of the talkshow that surrounds them. From afar it looks like Kame has a slight hunch, till they undo the ties of his medical gown from behind, and turn him around. Kame's face is bloodless. Even in the chill of the studio, the pale white lines of his limbs are unbowed, with nary a shiver.

another leech post! today's theme is Songs Of Which I Greatly Enjoy the Lyrics of (the most recent, anyway). you know the drill: comments greatly, greatly appreciated, don't tell the coppers, etc. i have more radiohead (though who doesn't), fleet foxes, and sea wolf in case anyone wants it.
bastard child that I am
you can see it in my swagger
in the palmist's lines of my hands
and my lips that bud like daggers
look out young son - grand ole party
and you will go to mykonos
with a vision of a gentle coast
and a sun to maybe dissipate
shadows of the mess you made
mykonos - fleet foxes
with your beautiful hair so displayed on the chair
and your head on the arm
and your legs in the air
and the words dancing out from your lips
like a sad ballet
song for the dead - sea wolf
i'd love to see inside your mind, to tear it all apart
to cut you open with a knife and find your sacred heart
i'd love to take your satin dolls and tear them all to shreds
i'd love to mess your pretty hair, i'd love to see you dead
insanity - oingo boingo
oh you look so tired
mouth slack and wide
ill-housed and ill-advised
your face is as mean as your life has been
jack the ripper - colin meloy
in pitch dark I go walking in your landscape
nroken branches trip me as i speak
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean it's there
just 'cause you feel it doesn't mean it's there
there there. (the boney king of nowhere.) - radiohead

Under the carpet, the next level down, someone's bass beats a steady rhythm into my bones. I sit on the floor, knowing my rug isn't all too clean... but it's mostly dog hair. Cash sheds more than I vacuum. He's 109 pounds of woolly blanket, and I don't brush him nearly as often as I should.
The air conditioning is on. It's a whoosh, not a hum like the refrigerator or the lights in the kitchen, neither of which are far away. The clock ticks, fading into the background almost inaudibly, filtered out by my clever subconscious.
My bird chirps, a hoarse sound meant for the jungles of South America rather than an apartment in California. After a moment he climbs to his top perch to play with his bell, and it joins the melee of quiet noise.
I sit cross legged against the couch, with my laptop in my lap. The dogs would prefer they be in my lap, but they're mostly too big, anyway. Cash, with his ever-shedding fur, lies pressed against my right, curled along my leg, my hip, the front of the couch, and around a nearby chair. He's long and solid, quietly active even as we relax. He finds a bit of floor to sniff, or a paw to lick, or a fly to try and stomp without moving.
Lily lays on my other side, curled smaller than her 60 pounds would indicate possible. Her brown and black coat twirls around herself, like the intricate pattern of a snail's shell. She stays pressed close, molded to my hip and leg, head pillowed on cast-off jeans turned into a dog toy. Other than the gentle rise and fall of her ribs, there's no movement. A moment's concern is all it would take to have her awake and watching me, making sure everything is all right while the 100 pound puppy looks around wondering what's going on. It doesn't happen.
Behind me lies my mother's dog, here in my safekeeping for a few more days. She sprawls across as much of the couch as she can, reveling in being the only dog allowed up. At her longest, she doesn't cover a single cushion, and she sleeps with the peaceful bliss of the well-spoiled.
I think that to be a dog would be wonderful, but realize I wouldn't trade it for being part of this pack.
The air conditioning comes on with a cool blast of air. Cash decides he's too warm, snuggled up with all of us, and wanders off to nap on the tile. Bobby gets bored of his bell and whistles, soft and low. Lily and Sheba continue to sleep, lulled away by the typing of keys. Another sound in the subconscious quiet.

I've scanned about a third of the Junjou Romantica artbook. It is very pretty. It's an artbook worth its money :D Finished editing part 1 last night and part 2 tonight. I don't know when I'll scan the rest of it.

I have 4,762 Thank-You's to make. So get comfy. *Looks at BTP*
Okay. After much discussion, I have been informed by Teh Pony that I have surgery in less than 10 hours, so they will have to wait.
Before I leave, I just want to say thank you to everyone for everything that they did to make this one of the most memorable DragonCons to date. (no easy feat) I will be honest with y'all: I was dreading the arrival of DragonCon just a few months back. My progression had left me less mobile and harder to understand. This was the first year where I felt like I was not contributing to the Tracks or the group. I cannot tell you how hard it is to not be able to run errands/help out like I used to.
So expect a later post giving thanks to everyone, and one with pictures. Big Hobbity Hugs to everyone!
~Mel
PS: You didn't think I would part on a soppy note, did you?
There once was a girl from Nantucket
Whose Gallbladder just kicked the bucket
The Surgeon went slice,
and the husband yelled "Yikes!"
Now she eats KFC from the bucket.

Also, I've recently discovered a song that is rapidly becoming my favorite love song ever (Sorry Edwin McCain). If I ever get married, I think I'd like to dance to this.
Had an awesome day with Ms. Schuffert and Ms. Kelly. We really need to frequent Barnes and Nobles teen and children section more often. The look on Laura's face when she opened the book about boys going through puberty to the page with the erect penis was just classic. XD Ahh good times, good times.
I want school to start!!!! T.T
