last images from Pakistan
These are the last photos I took in Pakistan, and most are of my friend A.'s new garden in Lahore. The plants are young and not established, but that is better for seeing the garden design.

More here. )

I'd like to say something intelligible about how important gardens are and the geometric elements, what they mean, but words fail. I'm sad about recent developments, what is happening to the country.

Are McCain/Palin involved in a vast conspiracy involving Republicans and Robots?

stolen shamelessly from here

If I'm not around much it is because my in-laws are visiting. For the next two months (which sounds worse than it is). I'm sure I will be online during the next two months but for the first week or so it will take some ironing out. Kavya is still a bit hesitant around them.

Food notes:
- Rice pudding tastes a million times better the next day; I had some cold, with a splash of soy creamer, for breakfast. I left off the chocolate, to make it less like dessert.
- Terra's unsalted potato chips are very tasty. I was highly skeptical, but after I bit into the first one, I shouted, "They don't suck!" Not salty at all, of course, but killer potato flavor. Yum yum. Haven, it should be said, isn't a fan.
- Terra's bbq potato chips are also very tasty. Also not at all salty, but delicious, with such great flavor. Haven says, "They aren't bad. They just aren't right."
- The low-sodium olives are shiny ovate miracles - they taste just like regular black olives, but with very little salt.
- I'm a little bit afraid of unsalted pickles.

my husband for his willingness to help me get my studio time and for dealing with my anxieties of our new surroundings.
