This is a long term to-do list, to be started on July 16, 2009 and completed on April 8, 2012. This entry is currently dated correctly, but after two weeks will be future-dated for date of completion. So if you're ever wondering how I'm doing on my challenges, just check in at my main journal page!
Denotes a task in progress
Denotes a completed task (00/00/20XX)
The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days
Blah, blah, you guys know the rest of the spiel. :)
And now for the tasks, broken down by category as much as possible
( Cut because it's killing MY friends list =P )

Second post of the day, but I actually made some fun progress that I thought I'd share before shuffling off to bed. I posted earlier about the fact that one of my goals wasn't on track, and how I was sad because it was the first one that had fallen through at all. I was also restless because the busyness of life had prevented me from making any progress on my goals recently. So today I did a little bit of catch-up work for my classes (to work on the goal that I was behind on) and then completed a whole different goal!
17) watch at least one episode of “Star Trek” (doesn’t matter which version, but the new film doesn’t count)
I chose an episode of "Voyager," because I remembered that being the one my parents watched when I was younger. It holds a special place in my heart (even though I don't think I've ever actually watched an episode myself before tonight) because back when I was younger and my bedtime was at 9 p.m., I used to fall asleep to the "Star Trek: Voyager" theme song. And that was how I knew early on that I was going to be a geek. :) Because there's so much Star Trek out there, I didn't feel the need to start at the beginning for continuity, so I just chose an episode at random. "Heroes and Demons" ended up being my pick, just because the title sounded cool. It was good- a fanciful and light episode, not pivotal earth-shattering viewing, but enjoyable. I would definitely watch more, especially from other series of the show. After a long couple weeks, though, this was a great starting point.
Another goal completed! \o/
List is here, as always

So, week one is over!
Already I can feel a positive change in my life, and it's very exciting. I tweaked a few goals and changed a couple more, but essentially my list is the same as it was before.
Progress report for week one:
( under here! )
Also, one thing that has really kept my morale up is my Mission Notebook. I went out and bought the most fun, happy, colorful little notebook that I could find, and every day I fill up one page with encouraging memos, little drawings, and celebrations of each goal I made progress on that day. It makes me happy. :)

Well, it had to happen sometime...I've gotten too behind on a goal.
94) don’t get too behind in school; finish every assignment the week it’s due. (So, if I get behind on the reading for a class, I have until the end of that week to catch up.)
I started grad school last week, so that meant that this goal was officially in progress. All the work that I was assigned last week had to be finished by Saturday night. Unfortunately, I was not able to accomplish this; due to a crazy schedule of 12-hour days, an extreme tiredness, and (yes, I'll admit it) a little bit of slacking off, I was nowhere near done with all the work by Saturday.
Of course, this doesn't discount the goal completely. There's no reason why I can't do it for all the other weeks, and I'm working on catching up now in hopes of doing just that. But it'll be in red as "partially incomplete" from now on. :(
My busy schedule has caused some slacking off on other goals too; I've been a lot less productive generally than I had been before, and I nearly forgot to do one of my goals (that I had promised to do every 2 weeks) this past week. I think once I get caught up, and now that I only have 6 hour days (plus Fridays off and not going home on weekends like this past week), I might be able to spare more mental space to work on this list!

I'm a bit behind with my updates as I went on holiday for two weeks and had a super busy week before that. I am pretty satisfied with my progress on some goals but would have liked to accomplish a bit more...I'm still off from work for another week so hopefully I can get some more things done during that time.
In progress: 42
Finished: 31
Progress this week
2. Watch 100 movies (45/100) I have seen Brødre, Walk the Line, Fidibus and The Good Girl during my holiday.
5. Watch all episodes of Alias (30/105) I watched a lot of episodes while we drove down to Italy and back.
7. Read 25 books off Time's All-Time 100 Novels (17/25) I read Jerzy Kosinski's the Painted Bird and Flann Obrien's At Swim-Two-Birds. Also read The Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien, but still need the last two books from the Lord of the Rings series.
8. Read 100 books (30/100) Read Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern.
22 Go swimming 5 times (1/5) Though I went swimming every day during my holiday, I'm only counting it as once.
36. Take up French again I got to use my French when I spent the last two days of my holiday in France, which was great. I'm quite surprised that I actually remember quite a lot of it.
41. Update my collection of pictures of Royals monthly (12/30) and 44. Write in my journal 10 times every month (12/30) Completed for June.
49. Bake 15 cakes (4/15) Baked vanilla cupcakes.
51. Complete a colouring book Did a few more pages.
93. Take pictures at 10 big events/outings (5/10) Took a lot during my holiday, some count as one for 94. Take 10 self portraits, I am satisfied with (3/10)
Completed this week
60. Travel to 5 countries (5/5)
I have to Sweden, the UK, France, Czech Republic and Italy. I have gone to Sweden several times on day trips and the others were for longer stays.

Hello! My name is Jules and I've decided that I need to do this mission because well, i eat unhealthily and i hemorrage money all the time because i suck at budgeting. my list is divided into 9 main sections with 10 items in each, and 20 in the last one. my 101 mission is to somehow document everything i do with a photograph.
I organized my list this way because it makes sense to me so sorry if it doesnt make sense to you. =(
Start Date: 07-10-09
End Date: 04-06-12
Italics means its in progress, strikethrough means i'm done
( click for my list of 101 )
Please feel free to let me know if i should re-do something somewhere

Hey there. My name is Bianca and I'm nineteen years old from West Virginia. One of my friends was participating in 101 in 1001 and suggested I do one also. At first I thought it would be impossible to think of 101 goals to accomplish, but now that I'm done with the list and can look over it, I am very pleased and excited to begin. So, here is my list for all to enjoy and maybe (hopefully) be inspired by. If you have any suggestions or wish to be friends, please comment. =]

Super-belated June post

I have been meaning to post a June update for, well, 9 days (go figure), but starting July 1 both family computers went in for updates, and then I left for grad school and have not had a free moment since. But I am pretty proud of my progress this past month, so I wanted to make sure I shared it!
In June I completed my first two goals!
11) meet an online/fandom friend in person
I already posted about this after it happened, but I met two online friends for the first time on June 3 in D.C. Fun times!
9) write at least one fic for a fandom I’m not currently active in
I typically am active in the Heroes fandom, and all my writing is housed at my writing journal,
imaginedmelody. I'm mostly a slash writer, and so when I started watching "Merlin" it was only a matter of hours before I joined the hordes writing Arthur/Merlin fic. It was a new fandom for me, so it completes this goal. You can find the story I wrote, "Dangerous Liaisons", here.
( Progress on New Goals )
( More progress on goals previously started )
Now that I'm in a completely different environment, some things will be easier to do, and some won't. Cooking a meal from scratch once a month, for instance, will be a lot easier now that I don't have to take the kitchen from my mother by force. But some things- like making time to take a walk, or read a book, or especially see people outside of my house and classes- will be super difficult from here on out. My July progress may be a little less extensive than what I've done before. But I'm gonna try to remind myself that a decrease in progress isn't always a bad thing, and keep it going as best I can.

This isn't exactly related to this community, but I thought it might be of interest to the members. Let me know if it isn't appropriate...
Me and my flatmate have set ourselves the challenge of reading our height in books by February 2010. We set up a community for challenges like this:
readheightetc.
It doesn't just have to be reading your height in books. There are a bunch of suggestions in the userinfo, such as "knit your weight in yarn" or "watch your height in DVDs. If you have some kind of
mission101 challenge like that, then by all means, join us. We've both posted there, so you can check out what we're doing, or you could join and think up a challenge of your own.
Hope to see you there. ♥
(If you are more Dreamwidth inclined, we have a mirror comm over there. It's
readheightetc.)

This is the first goal I've failed on both goal lists I've made in time of both mission progression. Technically, I could just redo this goal another week, seeing as my deadline is no where near a closing point (just started last month on second list). However, with thought in mind...my outlook has changed on this goal.
026. Try 90% raw food diet [week trial]. I'm going to stick with my 50% raw diet. Just the thought of worrying about what I'm eating and if it's really raw or not (esp. in this day and age)...just unneeded worry. I woke up feeling unnurished and famished...even though I had ate so much the day before. I just don't think my body is use to, or ready, for this. I've decided to not even give it another go. Like I said, I eat a good amount of raw as is...
Much respect to those who live this lifestyle. Much respect.
