AboutThis is a meeting place to celebrate the talents of Mira Furlan, the award-winning actress of film, stage and television from former Yugoslavia. She emigrated to the United States in November, 1991. As the political circumstances in her homeland deteriorated, she refused to give in to the growing ethnic hatred.
She continued to perform in an attempt to maintain a bridge between her people, believing art is for everyone and knows no boundries; but was forced to leave after being subjected to a brutal campaign of villification and terror carried out by the press and the people of her own city, Zagreb.
Since then, she has had numerous music, television, theater and voice-over credits, and was considered the 'Meryl Streep of Yugoslavian cinema.' She starred in the Warner Bros. Television Series "Babylon 5" performing the much loved role of Ambassador Delenn, and can now be found on the hit TV series "LOST" as Danielle Rousseau.
