First of all, thank you so much for participating in the last poll. Your votes and comments were really helpful. Based from your feedback, it's been decided that for the best interest of the community, all codes must be posted within the community.
So as of July 26, 2010, layout posts must follow these rules:
1. All codes must be posted within the community via a <textarea> tag. No exceptions. If there's a a reason that utilizing a dl link must be used to share your codes, please pm me first so we can discuss this. Posts from hereon that do not follow this rule will be given a warning and if the entry hasn't been edited after a week, the post will be deleted.
2. Download links is allowed only for graphics or images used for image-based layouts. This is both for the uploader (bandwidth issues) and the downloader (convenience in saving). The codes, however must still be posted within the community, not available only via a download link.
3. In the event that the post is too large due to variations, the user is allowed to post a second entry containing the codes that did not fit the previous entry. According to LJ's FAQ, the limit is 65,535 bytes which is roughly 65,535 characters. Exceeding LJ's limit happens rarely so posting again will be allowed. This keeps all codes within the community and available at all times.
- Please include (1/2) and (2/2) in the subject lines of your post if you post more than once duce to the limit. For example, the first post will be entitled Layout Title (1/2) for the first post and Layout Title (2/2) for the second post.
- For the second entry, please do not post an image preview for the variation outside the lj-cut anymore. Simply link this entry from the first post instead.
This way, people will know the second post is a 'continuation' of the first post containing variation codes and not a whole new layout.
As much as time permits, I'll be going through previous posts to ask the users who used dl links to put their codes within the entry.
If the reason you used dl links is due to LJ's limit, please include as much variations/set of codes in the post as you can. You may either 1) post again in the community or 2) include the codes that did not make the character limit cut in your next layout post. It's up to you.
Because entries within a community can't be backdated, watchers will get updated on your posts so please use your judgement in posting. If you think too many 'old' layouts are being posted at a given time, please wait a day or two before reposting your layout so as not to flood the community.
For questions, concerns, etc., please let us know asap.
Thank you!

Layout: Bedroom Disco {S2 Flexible Squares}
Features: custom contextual pop-up, mini icons, custom comments pages, fixed navigation links
Account types: basic // plus // paid
Notes: I recommend the vertical ad setting. Should look ok 1024×768 and up. Looks dazzling in Firefox and Safari, and rather dreadful in IE8. (I presume it is alright on Chrome & Opera, too.)
