What you will get in return right now is a receipt and your name & info put on a list. When we raise enough money between pre-sales and the other sources, the CD will be manufactured and we will send you your copy(ies) via snail mail or (if we see you in person much) just hand it to you at the earliest opportunity. Don't worry about postage; we'll take care of that. We are hoping to have them ready sometime this summer.

*This is important because we are using an account of his to sort of hold the money "in escrow" so that it only goes toward the manufacturing and not silly things like rent or food.

Merry Measure update

As reported in merrymeasure, the Merry Measure website is now open for business. Currently, there are pics and bios, and a link to sign up for their e-mail list; demo tracks are expected in the near future.

thanks for all who dug around to look for that ad - it's from a show we did quite a number of years ago and who had their own contract. So it's mildly annoying but perfectly legal.

I understand that there is an ad on the back cover in which a picture of Minstrosity appears.

1) Can someone confirm this?
2) Can someone send me a scan of this ad?

Use of our image is covered under copyright, and usually we specify use for the show year in which we are actually booked, unless the show has this kind of thing in their stock contract. So this might be a problem if we are being used without our permission to advertise a show that we (obviously) won't be appearing at.

wendyzski& I are pleased to welcome Fred Lauritzen(whistle/recorders) and Andrea Pakiesen (fiddle) as our musical partners for the foreseeable future. We have not yet decided on a name. Several have been suggested. I think we would be willing to take more suggestions. Just try to keep them civil. :-)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Minstrosity’s final performance will be at the Stronghold Olde English Faire on October 7-8th, 2006.

To everything there is a season, and people grow and change. It seems fitting that as this our 9th season draws to a close, that we close this chapter in our lives as well.

Josie and her wife Nancy will be moving to Michigan, and her plans include obtaining a university degree in music, as well as pursuing other professional opportunities. John and Wendy will remain in Chicago, and are in the process of forming a new band. Look for more information in the weeks and months ahead as we finalize our plans.

www.minstrosity.com will remain active, and CDs can still be ordered though the website or on CDBaby.com, or directly from any of us. The website will also be a great place to keep up on all our performance activities, as we intend to post links on the main page.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all our fans and the many people who have supported us over the past nine seasons. This decision does not come easily for any of us, and we hope to have your support and encouragement as we move forward.

Let us drink and be merry, all grief to refrain
For we may or might never all meet here again.

The stage is located at the mouth of the Chicago River at DuSable harbor, just east of Lake Shore Drive.
The festival itself is free, but to actually board the ships you will need a one-day boarding pass - $11 if you get them in advance, but $12 if you buy them on-site.

So make your plans now for a day of fun and a chance to see Minstrosity actually perform locally!

It has come to my attention that there is a rumour circulating that there will be no Renaissance Faire at the Amana Colonies, Iowa this Labor Day weekend.

I just spoke with the producer of the Festival. (You can, too - his information is available on the Faire's website.)

He assures me that the Faire is going ahead, as scheduled. We're still booked to play there. The rumour has cost the producer one act, who didn't bother to check with him before backing out.

Never believe a rumour about a Faire, especially if it comes from someone who isn't a part of that Faire.

'Nuff said.

sideband asked if there was a community for Minstrosity. Well, now there is. Welcome to it. This is the place to go for updates and announcements, besides, of course, the irregular e-mail list and the website.

We can now be heard on ~~two, that's right, two~~ make that THREE Live365 channels - RenRadio, Sweetwater Folk, and Wayfarer's Way. With no duplication between their playlists!

I'm sure we'll have something else to post here eventually. Note that you, our fans and friends, can also post here.
