It was actually quite funny (and interesting) to see the progression of the comics from the 60s through to now. It's quite camp and silly for the first half and then all of a sudden Ollie and Dinah are in bed talking about all the hot sex they've been having. LOL!
It was a good book though, although it made me realise how Oliver Queen from Smallville bears NO resemblence to Green Arrow from the comics
Next on the list is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. I've read this book before, several times, but this is the author's preferred text. No idea if I'll even notice the difference as it's been ages since I last read it
Amber Benson is also going to Collectormania. Of course I will have to meet her. Wonder if she'll remember me from the cruise.
OMG!
morganichele thank you for the birthday present! *big squishy hugs*
You really didn't have to do that but THANK YOU!
I haven't opened it yet. Just taken it out of the Amazon box and it's sat on my table in its green wrapping paper and orange ribbon (which genius at Amazon came up with that colour combo?) I shall save it for my birthday
Thank you again!!!
EEE!
Jamie Bamber is going to Collectormania!!!!!
*hyperventilates*
Do you people have ANY idea how long I've been waiting to meet him? Since before BSG I can tell you!
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
OMFG how have I never seen this pic before?
How do I get one of these dragon egg thingys? Every time I go to the site it says there are no eggs to be found.
I had a weird Smallville dream last night, which in itself is odd because I rarely dream about it.
Clark and Chloe were on the run because Lex had framed Clark for Lana's murder. I don't think Clark and Chloe were a couple, she was just trying to help her friend
Anyway they ended up in this house and were hiding from Sheriff Adams who was looking for them. Clark decided that the best thing to do was pretend to be dead and somehow he managed to stop his heartbeat and breathing.
It was all going well but then Chloe somehow gave away the fact that Clark wasn't really dead and he got mad with her. Then Lex came in and Clark started yelling at him too. Lex had stubble and even though he was mad Clark still had time to tell Lex that it suited him. LOL
Then I woke up
One of Carol Anne Duffy's poems, which has been in the AQA Anthology for GCSE for at least six years, is to be dropped. We've been told we don't have to do it for next summer, and that new books without the poem will be issued forthwith.
The poem is disturbing. It's supposed to be. Apparently it's a poem which could corrupt the young. Many of my former students will fall over laughing at this.
Incidentally, the Anthology still contains poems about someone who murdered a hitch hiker; a cold, calculating man who gives orders for his wife to be killed; a young thug who steals and smashes a snowman; a woman who wakes up with a corpseless head in her bead; a poem about Batman's relationship with Robin(note the subtext) and one about a deranged woman arranging to have her rival poisoned.
Two of those are by Robert Browning, BTW.
Ah, the innocence of youth.
drusplace and I have taken it upon ourselves to enlighten all those who are new to the wonder of James Marsters. She posted a picspam yesterday as well as some interesting JM factoids.
I, sadly, don't have any interesting factoids but I do have lots of pics. These are all special to me as they're all pics that I took during my various meetings with James over the years.
I must apologise for the quality of the early pics. They were before I got a digital camera. In fact the main reason I bought my first digital camera was to take better pics of James. LOL
( JM 2003-2008 )
Hope you enjoyed it. I certainly had fun going through all my old pics
I wouldn't be a true Brit if I didn't grumble about public transport (and the weather) once in a while.
Dude, what is going on with the buses at the moment? Any of my fellow Yorkies have any idea?
I only get the bus twice a week to go to aerobics. On Monday the bus was massively (20 mins) late but I managed to get a seat and consequently missed the first 5 minutes of my class
Today I sat for 30 minutes, watched four of the bus I want go past me in the opposite direction, and when it finally arrived they let about six people on and then said it was full.
So I've missed my class and I am not amused! And I got wet walking home (just to add a gripe about the weather)
Spike is not amused!
Seen in the Supernatural Magazine, which are your favouite Bother moments between Sam and Dean. Mine was of course the one that topped the poll. From a Very Supernatural Christmas. Then I like it from Young Sam and Dean, right through to the end, when Sam does give Dean the Christmas he wants, despite his own feelings at the thought of losing his brother.
I was also wondering about your favourite demon episode? When Sam and Dean face a demon, and how it panned out. Mine is Phantom Traveller, when they face their first demon together. How about you?

current song: Cockney Rebel All the Men are Hungry!
Well David and Ronnie are coming over later today. Ronnie is up to "Heart" in watching Supernatural, which I think David will enjoy. At least the Sam and Madison scenes anyway. I mean his favourite BtVS scene is the Buffy and Spike against a wall, with the building disintergrating round them. So this should be just his cup of tea.
Which got me thinking about the love scenes with Sam, and the others with Dean. JA just doesn't seem to put any effort into them. He kind of just stands there. The most aminated he got was hugging Sam in "All Hell Breaks Loose Part II". Yeah I know that JP and JA get on very well (any wonder I read RPS with the two of them), but in the programme he is a little....unamimated. Maybe that is just me then!
Then I do like JP's body type. Long limbs and hands, and very slim. Micheal was like that, he was 6' 4" and as did an exboyfriend who was 6' 9". So that might just be what I go for!
