Really really want to listen to Dr. Horrible and love it, but now am seeing the Dr. Steel wank, and I love me some Dr. Steel, and I really hope they are not too similar in a disturbing plagiarism way because I really want to support an indie artist more. (Yeah, I know it's a trope, what I'm really praying is that it doesn't go beyond that.)

Shirley, written by one Charlotte Brontë and published in 1849, includes one thing that I find rather interesting - the use of the word 'feck'.
Seriously, it's in there. My edition sticks a glossary at the back and defines it as meaning 'part, portion' - it's a dialect thing. Isn't dialect fun?
(Of course, this is the book where Charlotte seems to realise that she's writing about lesbians, which I find incredibly funny. There's so much subtext between Shirley and Caroline... I could talk about this book for ages, y'know.)

I have stumbleupon set up so that it sometimes takes me to porn (which is inconvenient in public, as you can't set it to "just g right now!"). And it just took me to a picture of a girl giving a blowjob, angled as if you were looking down at her and cropped so that all you saw was her face and the dick.
I actually stared it for almost 30 seconds going "Why did stumbleupon just take me to a picture of a girl eating geoduck?"
Yeah, I think it's definitely time for bed.

OK folks. So this Tuesday, my roommate and I are going to New York. For a week, we will watch the Yankees and Mets play. We'll go the Baeball Hall of Fame. We'll tour Manhattan, Brooklyn and pretty much everything New York. Heck, we're going to Atlantic City!
Since I worked and lived in New York for two months last year, I pretty much did everything touristy. So, because of that, there isn't much I want to buy.
However, if you have never been to New York. Or if you just want something from New York, tell me right here. You see, I love New York and I want to bring something back for the people I love.
I can bring back an "I Love NY" T-shirt. I can get you a shot glass. POSTCARDS? I can get you M&M's or Hershey's. I can get you a black and white cookie. Nathan's hotdogs? Whatever, just tell me right here.
Nothing too expensive though. I'll do my best to get it for you too! Don't be shy.

I have found something far worse than Harry Potter fangirls. I know, I thought it wasn't possible either. It is true, and they are... Twilight fangirls. Teenage drama - with vampires! It's a winning combo.
To anybody who has seen The Dark Knight.... I hate you. Nobody wants to see it besides me, which means I have no way to get to a theater which means I have to find a shitty quality cam download. It'll have to do until it comes out on DVD. That's right, DVD. I'll have to do the same for The Wackness. And yet I still don't want to drive. Go figure.
I wish Dave wasn't here. As bad as it sounds, I wish he was still in prison. He's making mom miserable which means we're all miserable. She wouldn't be if she said NO to him once in awhile, but she feels the need to be around him 24/7 and do whatever he wants to do. She has trust issues. Just non-stop hand and foot, waiting on him. Driving him to the store several times a day to buy him beer with her own money because, despite what Dave says, he's not going to get a job. The only time it's been just her and I alone was when she dropped be off to be with other members of the family. She's hardly working anymore. I want him gone now. I want him to stop drinking booze like water, I want him to stop smoking pot around my fucking cats.

I just got back home on Friday and now we're packing again! We're going to LA tomorrow to visit friends and family before going to Comic Con on Wednesday.

Dark Knight is awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, and you should go see it. Maybe twice. I think I might go back tomorrow. I have nothing else to say about it right now because I am going to fall over.
But I will say that my favorite part of midnight showings is how geeks cheer and clap for previews. Even when it's for properties that I can't stand and wish would die a fiery death (oh Twilight, how I hate you), just the simple fact that theatres full of geeks cheer for previews is awesome.
Maybe I should use the word awesome again. Awesome!

I'm looking up anime statues and figures on eBay and there are so many fakes. I can't tell which ones are real and which ones aren't! Even if you filter out everything outside the U.S., you still get people in So Cal selling Chinese knockoffs! Grrr...I may have to buy all my toys at cons to make sure I see the boxes and get the real thing. So lame!!!

Okay, BBC News America, I agree that the American Southwest needs to rethink their water use, but pointing to Vegas's golf courses and waterfalls as examples of "omg, evil superfluous water use!" just shows you didn't do you research.
The golf courses are mostly fed by reclaimed city grey water (though not all, it really is most). And every single outdoor waterfall is also done with grey water, either city or hotel, because otherwise they're illegal.
Do your damn research, BBC.

Okay. In April, I decided that the shelving unit I'd been using as an entertainment center was starting to fall apart beyond repair, and that it needed to be replaced. So I hunted, found some things I liked, and in early May I ordered two bookcases and a tv stand. The tv stand was back-ordered until early June, which was fine. Except then it was backordered until mid-August. And I just got an email saying that now it's backordered until the middle of October.
I... really don't want to wait until the middle of October.

Weirdest conversation ever...
Me: I want to go to Cancun!!
Chris: No. We're going to Japan next year.
Me: But I want to go to Cancun now...
Chris: Why don't you go and buy yourself a few handbags instead?
Me: O_O *shocked*
Wow, things have changed. Well, I didn't go to Cancun and I didn't buy any more handbags. (Good Rebecca!) I did however already order one before we had this conversation. Speaking of which...
You have no idea what I went through to get this handbag. I first saw it when it came out back in spring. I went to the Dooney store and drooled over it but it's $300 and I thought to myself I should be good and not buy it. Then during Mother's Day, I got a coupon for the Dooney store for 20% off. I still thought I should be good and not buy it. Well, summer rolled around and I was still pining for that bag. So we went back to the Dooney store in June and it was all sold out in the color I wanted!! I cried at the mall. I was so sad. It was like I was punished for thinking over my decision and trying to be good by making sure I really wanted it before implusively buying it! It was also sold out online!
Anyway, I created a saved search on eBay and it would e-mail me if anything was listed that matched my keywords. Well, my bag was finally listed! Yay! Long story short, I "bought it now" and saved $30 off regular price! Yay! I heart my new bag and all of its patent leather goodness!
