massive Rent Millicanon summaryblob o' DOOM
Hokay. So. This is largely just an attempt to keep myself awake all night (as it makes more sense than getting far too little sleep, at this point), so it's not necessarily gonna be coherent, but hey! It's been a while since I did anything summary-like, so I figure I might as well. (Though without the extensive linkage per usual, due to le tired.) Before we begin, a brief rundown of Rent Millicanon before all this starts up: There really isn't any to speak of. Mark wanders in from a couple points during the play's time span and wanders out again. (Oh yes! Dates for everyone: First act of the play's Christmas Eve 1996, by our reckoning, and the second act spans 1997 pretty handily. Mark is currently coming in from early 1998.) It is, however, worth noting that these points in time he's wandered in from are before Angel goes and dies on everyone. ( as such, the REAL fun doesn't start up until Angel turns up in the bar. )I've got a lot more stuff specifically to do with Angel, but I still have to write most of that up, so. Some other time. My Long in the Coming Millipedia Entry ( Character analysis from August )In updating this information, Tom has separated himself fairly well from using Dark magic, although he still has set backs upon occasion in that area. He is excellent with Transfiguration and Charms - he can visualize practically anything and can make it happen. With much poking, I finally got Tom to the point in which he could face his past and come to terms with the murders he'd committed, most especially those of his father and grandparents. See here for the memory category with all relevant threads. People from his world Tom would know or know of: Minerva - who has come into the bar and met with Tom. Here is the memory category for those conversations. Dumbledore - Dumbledore always made him very nervous in school, and he disliked him. I think there is more to the relationship between Tom and Dumbledore - I really believe that Dumbledore feels he failed Tom. In any case, Tom has mixed feelings about seeing Dumbledore again. Part of his wants to, but part of him is reluctant. Moody - I bet they'd have known each other. And Moody would've probably not cared for Tom one bit. Hagrid - obviously they knew each other in a more adversarial way. Cornelius Fudge - There is a thread where Tom talks about Cornelius. He was a git, a couple of years younger than Tom. Grindelwald - in my fanon, Tom never met Grindelwald. There is no canonical evidence of this. as Grindelwald is only mentioned twice in Sorcerer's Stone, and both of those times in reference to Dumbledore's chocolate frog card. Tom did not know Lucius Malfoy, but he knew a Malfoy cousin, Lucretia. In the biblical sense. I imagine that Tom tried to maneuver himself into marrying into a powerful pureblood family only to find himself denied time and again. He might've been Heir of Slytherin, but he was still halfblooded. This thread goes into more explanation of Tom's love life before finding Door. And this thread has Tonks being amused by Tom and Aunt Lucretia. Finally, I leave it up to individual muns to decide whether they've heard the name Tom Riddle or not. It's up to them to hate him on sight ;) | | Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 | 9:03 pm [timsbooks]

Millcanon: The Offices
Figured some of this needed putting up, so here goes. This is my first time ever summarizing, so if i tell too much or too little, let me know. In the beginning, there was Bigby. And Bigby did create a space for security. And at some point, security was chosen. Bigby in charge, with Tim, Raph and Alanna bouncing. Our first "Guest" was Faust. And thus we saw the first instance of of the Endless helping out. Tim decides to spiffy things up He builds the cells, makes them self replicating in times of need, and gets rid of the bars in favor of walls. Although originally set up as metal walls and one way mirrors, somehow the out facing walls have become all glass. Tim also sets the spell to keep people from breaking out. Alanna decides to go home She posts a note in the back room, but neglects to tell Bernard, leading to trouble. First use of the cells. Anthy and Paul her rose are the first actual residents. Anakin is added to the staff to replace Alanna. He brings in Ro-man, who will never, ever leave our care. The bar is defaced leaving the security staff troubled, and Bigby hunting for more staff. And then Raph gets tossed in a cell! Maddness. Thom and alex are brought in. Thom on charges of defacing the bar, alex for defending him. Someone broke in. And tim makes some changes. If anyone enters the offices without a security member present, staff is alerted. oh, and a really nifty keep out sign is put on the door. The rest is just some other arrests and such. Somewhere in there the cells were named Baby by Tim, and have started taking on at the very least emotions and actions of its own, if not actual thoughts. It seems to like Ron. Raph is put on probation by Bernard, due to issues with not following orders. Angel is hired as security. | | Saturday, December 18th, 2004 | 6:21 pm [redeemed_one]

Bernard Mickey Wrangle
I thought it might be smart to repost this, as several people have asked me about him lately. "Albert Camus wrote that the only serious question is whether to kill yourself or not. Tom Robbins wrote that the only serious question is whether time has a beginning and an end. Camus clearly got up on the wrong side of the bed, and Robbins must have forgotten to set his alarm. There is only one serious question. And that is: Who knows how to make love stay? Answer me that and I will tell you whether or not to kill youself." --Tom Robbins, Still Life with WoodpeckerHere's a bit about Bernard, because the book isn't nearly as popular as it once was. Bernard Mickey Wrangle was born to a family of itinerant fruit pickers, and abandoned at two years old at a gas station in Walla Walla Valley. The only name he answered to was Baby. He was adopted by a failed-actor-turned-onion-rancher named Dude Wrangle and his philosophy professor wife Kathleen. He was just Baby Wrangle until the age of 15, when he picked a name at random and headed off to boarding school. The thing about Bernard that one must always remember is that he is an outlaw, not a criminal. He doesn't consider himself a criminal, because criminals do things like blow buildings up in order to hurt people, out of pure spite. Bernard does it all for the explosion, for the sheer defiance of it, for the beauty of having a place that simultaneously challenges society and is outside of it; he also doesn't mind if there's a small political gain along with the poetry of falling rubble. He's not much for movements and self-righteous posturing, though, and he'll (non-homicidally) blow up your Greenpeace summit as soon as look at it, but he's sort of made of love and goodwill for everyone. Seriously. Even though he destroyed your booth dedicated to the wellbeing of plankton in the Northern Atlantic, it wasn't personal. And wasn't the fire pretty? *g* Bernard landed himself in jail in the late 60's by blowing up what he thought was an empty chemistry building in Madison, Wisconsin. He thought that the work being done there was being used to help the US fight in Vietnam, so he thought he'd make it go boom, for a laugh. A grad student was caught in the blast, and his legs, marriage, career, and groundbreaking research into male birth control were all destroyed. This event landed him in the jail on McNeil's Island, which he blasted out of to land in Milliway's. It also engendered an unwavering interest in alternative birth controls, a subject upon which he is an expert. There's a lot more. Feel free to ask questions, or! Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon
As represented in Milliways, the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon ( Pretty (girl) Soldier Sailor Moon) is not meandering off-canon very far... but the question is more, 'which canon'? As fans of the series know, it started as a manga, a comic book. After the first series came out, the rights were acquired to adapt in into its first TV format, that of animation. Several years later, an American company bought the rights to the first two seasons and pureed them into English. Eventually, MIXXzine/Tokyo Pop started producing translated versions of the original manga, making more story details available to the vaguely dissatisfied North American fen who didn't know what they were missing yet. Cloverway, the North American branch of Toei Animation (the original producer) took over dubbing the next two seasons of Sailor Moon which were aired on Cartoon Network. Although the original music was kept, there still appear to be major flaws in the translations according to general fannish opinion. The most controversial was the decision to change the romantic relationship between two female characters to that of 'cousins', although many will grudging admit they understand this was done because of the age market and U.S. homophobia. As a result, there's manga canon, translated manga canon, anime canon and mutilated adapted anime canon. The two characters who have appeared in the bar already, forbiddensailor and warudosahakingu are largely using translated manga canon with a little anime mushed into it. Please see their info-pages for more detail on the characters. Fansites good for those who are curious: Current Mood: informative | | Saturday, December 4th, 2004 | 11:17 pm [x_van_helsing_x]

Highlander Canon ((Okay, I've done what I can. Highlander canon is vast and Swiss cheese-like - sometimes pretzel-like, but I have attempted to scribble up most of the big stuff as it is relevant to the characters currently in the bar. I have no idea who Methos-mun or Amanda-mun are - and I've tried to figure it out - and thus haven't been able to contact either for additional information. However, if either mun sees something here that needs explanation or alteration, please comment and we'll work something out. For now - Highlander canon, in and out of Milliways, as it stands.))******** Highlander Canon: (If someone needs/wants a link to anything specific, let me know (comment here or ping/email me - I'm on the contact list) I have a lot of this stored in Connor's memories)1) Characters: Connor MacLeod - aka Russell Nash; Kronos; Methos - aka Adam Pierson; Amanda. Connor ( macleod_connor) started out introducing himself as Russell Nash, but eventually gave up and just kept going with Connor - especially after he met Death and she already knew his real name. He's pretty high-profile, most immortals would recognize him anyway and he's come to the conclusion that, at Milliways, no one really cares who he is in a 'I'm gonna cut your head off' sense, except Kronos and he's dead. Canonically, he's inching toward 500 years old, except that he's being played from around 1998-9. Connor may or may not have ever met Amanda, but he would know *of* her, just like he knows of Kronos and Methos. Kronos ( angryadolescent) is dead in his original timeline, thus bound to the bar. At the time of his death, he was around 4500. He and Connor get drunk on a regular basis and Kronos spends his time taking notes. On what? Well, that would be telling, now wouldn't it? *g* Oh, and he wants to find out where he can get Tojo blades and, well, Van Helsing just ain't givin' up that secret. *g* Methos ( methos_is_death) has made one appearance in the bar. Canonically (per the series) he is somewhere in the neighborhood of 5000 years old, generally goes by the name Adam Pierson, likes beer and keeping himself out of the 'way'. Amanda ( immortal_thief) has, as yet, not entered Milliways. (to the best of my knowledge, if I missed her – let me know) She's a thief and is a bit over 1000 years old. She has been a paramour of Duncan MacLeod. Beyond that, I'm not sure what to include about her until she makes a bar appearance and Kronos-mun and I get a chance to talk with her mun.ETA: and hence, any of the other ref's to Amanda are so-striken. Did a search and Amanda is no longer a character listed as either a member of Milliways_bar or listed on the cast list.2) Timeline: yeah – how about we NOT do this one. I could do a HL canon timeline, but a) there are 400K of them online already – hit google, dude and b) I'd have to start way the hell back in 3000 BC – yeah right, do I *look* like a historian? How about not. ** addendum – Milli-timeline – eh, maybe. Methos – Connor – Kronos – that's the order they entered the bar. What happened? Methos ordered a beer – duh. Connor ordered Glenmorangie – duh. Kronos – stared down Connor and sneered a lot. Later he and Connor spent several nights of several different weeks getting drunk, one of which happened to include the two of them dressed like two halves of a horse. Kronos and Connor fenced out by the lake. Kronos spends most of his time hiding in the shadows watching the people of the bar do what they do. That's, so far, all there is. We haven't really done that much plot-y-ness with the immortal guys just yet. 3) History: Connor has explained the, as Death-mun described it, 'twistedness that is Highlander canon' thusly. Basically - Connor didn't win anything. He was never the last immortal, he just got one of the really big nasty ones out of the way that no one else would take on, then everyone seemed to come out of hiding all at once. Connor also establishes that the events of HL:EG are rumour and Duncan never cut off his head and never would *cough*which is canonically correct for both characters*cough*. (I figure Connor, being the one who had his canon royally screwed when the series started (well, w/ the 2nd movie, but we're not going there), he gets to interpret and the rest kinda get to fall in line. Actually, what I came up with works w/ everyone else's canon, so it's not really a big problem. The only thing that might be an issue, is if Duncan or Joe come in post-Endgame, but why would they want to? that movie is total crap and Connor-mun does not acknowledge it's existence.) Kronos-mun and Connor-mun decided that the two never actually met, but both have enough 'reputation' to be known by the other (ditto on Connor knowing about Methos and Amanda - though it's possible Connor could have met Amanda; plus, since Ducan's such a big blabber-mouth, he probably told Connor about Methos anyway), so, all's as well as can be expected between two immortals who, had they both met while Kronos was alive, would have fought to the death anyway. 4) Canon being used from the Highlander fandom: Highlander - All of this is canon for all HL characters as best as I can tell, considering the others wouldn't exist without it. This is mostly Connor's background anyway. Characters from the two series and the other movies may have known characters in this movie, but that's up to those muns if it's not canonically established anywhere else. HL establishes that "The Gathering" has begun and Connor (in 1985) fights the last living immortal – The Kurgan – and gains The Prize (which, mun still isnt' exactly sure what that was); and is mortal. (See above section on "History" for how this has been worked into the canon of the series.) Highlander:II - (whichever version you want) Not being referenced by any of the characters currently in the bar, since to most of them, it hasn't happened yet and it's been off-set by Highlander: Endgame anyway. For those who don't know, HL:II sets up that in 1999 the Ozone layer has been completely destroyed and Connor, with some friends, sets up December Shield Installation (or December Shield Corp or Shield Corp or DSC or what-the-hell-ever they call the thing) to put an ugly-ass orange-red shield around the planet Earth to protect the people and the planet from UV radiation. It also claims Brenda Wyatt married Connor and died after having contracted skin cancer. The Shield pretty much causes worldwide crappiness – and things seem to regress – except for Connor's Porsche, which somehow manages to run on the non-emission gasoline w/o having been outwardly modified – until some chic breaks into DSI/DSC and finds out that life is just peachy above The Shield. She talks Connor into helping her kick The Shield's ass, but he needs to call on Ramirez (who's been dead for 500 years) to help him out; Ramirez dies again; Connor kicks Michael Ironsides' Kitana's ass, The Shield's ass and the planet is all, well, the ugly-ass shield is gone. The population of the planet probably hates Connor just as much for taking The Shield down as they did for him helping put it up. Then, Connor wakes up from this very bad dream and realizes it was just a by-product of all the wacky Y2K disaster talk.** Side note, Connor-mun actually does like this movie (hence her freakin' screenname, dammit), it just has it's own set of rules and inconsistencies that you have to smile and nod about. Plus, there's a really hot shot of Connor walking out of an explosion (see pup's journal for image) that totally kicks ass! *g* ** Highlander:III - This actually would have already taken place parallel to Highlander: The Series and would be part of Connor's canon, but mun has chosen to ignore it, as it adds too many complications to Connor's character and is kind of a bad movie. Connor has moved to Marakesh (I have no idea why) and has adopted a child. Brenda Wyatt is dead in this film too, only she and Connor were in a mysterious car accident and Connor lived through it and moved to the desert because he is a moron. It turns out that there are three immortals who were buried in a mountain in Japan and they've been conveniently released by some archaeological group of folks who can't leave well-enough alone. Again with the Connor ass-kickage (this time w/o reviving his long-dead teacher) and stuff's just peachy all over again. ** Connor-mun doesn't like this one much at all, to Connor, it doesn't exist – never happened. ** Highlander: Endgame - (why oh why did they make this piece of crap?) This movie is so not a part of Connor's canon that it's not even funny. Connor has denounced the events in this movie as rumour to Death (See above section on "History") [ETA:((even though it doesn't actually take place until 2000 - so that was mun's goof, as Connor is from 1998/9, but he could still have heard a rumor))]. None of this makes any difference to Kronos, as he's dead before it happens. From the userinfo for methos_is_death it is difficult to tell if this has been accepted as part of his canon, I don't believe so, but I'm not ruling it out. Should Methos return to the bar or Amanda ever enter – as it could affect her as well, the muns can collaborate and figure something out. (hooray for Milli-time and Milli-canon) ** Connor-mun completely ignores the fact that this movie was ever even made and is a proud member of Kilt-Denial - ask for details. *g* ** Highlander: The Series - So far, all of this is canon. Summarizing this would take way too long, but boiling it down – bad guy comes to town, Duncan takes him out, end of episode – repeat for 6 years. There are a few ups and downs along the way and Connor appears in the first episode and is mentioned in passing a couple other times, but, beyond that, this is Duncan's canon. Kronos, Methos and Amanda are all part of this timeline. Highlander: The Raven - Connor-mun knows nothing of this canon at all, save that Amanda is the lead character. Kronos-mun knows a bit more. There is an immortal from this series who happens to be quite the doppleganger to Kronos – named Andre Korda. That's about all we have for now, until someone can fill in the blanks. 5) HL Inconsistencies in general: Er – mostly, I'm thinking we'll just work around these as they come up, if they do. HL canon is known for it's glaring muck-ups (see the section above for evidence) and, well, we'll fix that – sort of. Mostly, the muns and characters will work out ways to 'get around' or 'explain' them as they rear their ugly heads. 6) Canon-puncture: Connor's met Andrew. 'Nuf said. No, really, he was okay with it. He had talked to Angie and Tim before, actually seeking out Andrew and was warned about Andrew being a fan-boy. Connor was cool with that and found Andrew, talked to him and, kinda screwed with the kid's head a bit, but he didn't hurt him at all. And, he wasn't punctured much more than – 'OMG, they made a movie and a show about you in my world! Cool!' – so, it's all good. Kronos – don't think he's been punctured, but he'd probably kill anyone who told him he wasn't real. *snicker* Methos – I believe he's free of canon-puncture, not that he would deny that his life was all fiction anyway, b/c, well, he's Methos. Amanda – having not yet entered the bar, has had no mishaps with her canon.7) Co-canon: Per HL canon, there are no such things as vampires, but, so far, considering that he's immortal, Connor, at least, isn't opposed to the idea of the existence of vampires – he's met Nick Knight. Kronos, having seen quite a bit, fairly believes in the existence of just about anything. Methos and Amanda are still up in the air, though, considering Methos is older than dirt and Amanda's got a few years under her thieving belt, they'd probably be open to it. Aliens might be a little more for them to get around, but who knows. ((And mun is *so* waiting a bit before tackling any of her other characters...)) And a bit o' thanks to Joe-mun, from whom I snagged the format and some of the section titles. And also, thanks to Kronos-mun who read over it about four times for me to make sure I hadn't missed anything huge. | | Friday, December 3rd, 2004 | 2:33 pm [joewithnoname]

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly & other Leone
While it's highly unlikely anyone from my canon will show up unless its a prearranged Plot Event... I'm sick and bored. Humor me. I don't have any links. They can probably be supplied if anyone wants them. 1) Names: Joe's name in Milliways is.... Joe. Manco. This is a combination of the two names listed for him over the course of the films in IMDB, although he never uses them onscreen. Except I misspelled Monco. It's been established Joe never gave Tuco or Angel Eyes his name--thus, why they always called him Blondie. Similarly, Joe doesn't know Angel Eyes' real name. 2) Tuco: I filled a few things about Tuco's past & Joe and Tuco's relationship. Joe mentioned once that Tuco's mother was actually Italian, which was a reference to the fact that all the films were shot in Italy. Joe has said that he was a 'dirty' bounty hunter for three years, working with Tuco as he does in the films, and that he met Tuco early in his career. Finally, he has mentioned hearing Tuco was dead, knifed in a brothel, although it was only hearsay. Nearly all of this can be retconned out if you want to play Tuco and don't want to, say, be dead. For instance, Tuco may have been bullshitting Joe by claiming not to be a full-blooded Mexican. 3)Timeline: According to millicanon, Joe comes from 1869 and was a bounty hunter for ten years, including three years after getting rich at the end of the movie. This sets TG, TB & TU in 1866, technically after the War has ended; I think it's just that much more ironic and pointless if the news of the surrender hasn't reached them yet. Also, I am sloppy. I cannot possibly be more sloppy than Sergio Leone, who put Chicago next to Pheonix, so, whatever. 4) The Trilogy: As of now, it is not explicit whether or not Joe has lived through the other two films in the 'trilogy.' He could easily have been For A Few Dollars More when he was younger and not mentioned it yet. On the other hand, For A Fistful of Dollars seems like it would have made him even grimmer and a little more concerned with justice. I have problems considering the character in all three films precisely the same person anyway. So. Um. We'll work this out if eg, Marisol or the Colonel ever apps. (Also, the Colonel is Lee Van Cleef! He looks *exactly* like Angel Eyes!) 5) Joe's History: Joe is from Kansas. I forgot he says Illinois He was obviously lying when he said Illinois to the recruiter, just like Tuco was. He doesn't know or much care about his father. He came to the southwest in 1859, at 17, after his mother died, on a cattle drive, which left him with a lasting contempt of cowboys. Err. His mother didn't die on the cattle drive. His mother died, so he left home on a cattle drive. 6) Canon-puncture: Joe has been canon-punctured and kind of wants to see the movie. It's established that he does look like Clint Eastwood, so I'm afraid it probably couldn't be 'Tuco (or Joe) eventually settled down and wrote a book, which was eventually sekritly made into a film,' (although I wish I had thought of that before!) or something similar. If Joe actually thought about it, he'd probably subscribe to the leakage theory, rather than that he had been 'made up.' That's about all I can think of. ETA: 7) Oh, co-canons: It has been established that Joe's history is continuous with Meg Giry, who is continuous with Nick Knight and Will Stanton (and possibly Michael Donighal?). This cuts him off from any other vampire-having canons, since Nick is definitely not a Rice-pire, a Stoker-pire, a Potter-pire, a Buffy-pire or any of the other variations we have around. It also means what magic there in in his world subscribes to the DiR models. | | Monday, November 29th, 2004 | 1:06 am [redeemed_one]

Star Wars Luke walks into Movie Night, thus throughly canon-puncturing him, and by consequence, all subsequent SW characters. The summary of the thread can be found here. Later, in this thread Luke teaches Todd a little bit about using a lightsabre (Tonks got a mini-lesson, too, in a previous thread, but it was very short.) Luke also admits to fearing that if he teaches a student, he could screw them up and make them Dark Side. Luke meets Val. This will be important later. Anakin's first entry in which he and Luke have a very awkward reunion, including copious tears on both sides. And now for the vitally important bit of Millicanon: Anakin's version of the events of Episode III! The short, short version: Anakin and Padme get married in secret. The Jedi find out and take Padme away. Anakin fights Obi-Wan trying to get her back. Anakin falls and becomes Vader. Vader swear revenge and lays the smackdown on the Jedi, leading to 20 years of angst. Complete (but not comprehensive) list of Force powers.Anakin meets Peter via Desire, starting a long and beautiful friendship. Anakin's confession to Tom. This is also available in the form of a recording, with Luke has, if anyone wants to hear it. Somewhere around this time, Anakin moves into the House of Arch. Luke and Han still have rooms above the bar, though Luke has recently moved in with Val. After Luke listens to the recording, there is a small fight between him and Anakin. In the aftermath, there is vague resolution, and Luke asks Anakin to train him. Luke asks Val out, causing romance to blossom. Anakin fights with the Rider, hurts Peter, and renounces the Dark utterly. Also continued here. Anakin is hired as a Bouncer. Anakin gives a lightsabre to Peter (bringing current Bar total to three.) Palpatine enters the bar. Anakin, with Peter's help, rejects him completely. Also, Palpitaine screws up and calls Anakin 'Master'. In the aftermath, Peter and Anakin adopt each other. Halloween, in which: Val is Leia, Peter is Young!Anakin, and Han Solo arrives. He mistakes Val for Leia, kisses her, and getting chewed out by all. Then he and Anakin have a long heart-to-heart talk. Anakin and Val adopt each other.Around this time, Anakin starts training with Moiraine to control his anger. During Moiraine's absence, he and Peter train together. During the lesson, Yoda appears and speaks to Anakin. He tells Anakin to heal himself, and smiles at him. All of this prompts Anakin to start calling himself a Jedi again. At the end of the night, Peter calls Anakin 'Teacher.' Later on, Anakin calls Peter 'Padawan.' Anakin talks to Obi-Wan.Val and Luke admit they are in love.Mara Jade Skywalker enters the bar (current lightsabre count: 4. Current blaster count: many). She meets Snow, Peter, Anakin, and is baited by Sidious, who is chased off by two snarky Jedi and an very calm wizard. Palpatine has his connection to the Force severed by Destruction.(If anyone has any comments about putting this in better order, or if I left something out, feel free to tell me. I was trying to cover the important stuff.) | | Wednesday, November 24th, 2004 | 11:38 pm [redeemed_one]

Oh, look, another Milliways community.
The purpose of the Millipedia is to serve as a quick reference guide to canon, Millicanon, bar geography, and all that other useful stuff you need to know at the weirdest times but have no guide for. So have at! Posts summarizing existing Millicanon will be received with great tidings of joy. |
