Back again?
Hey folks, I'm going to be moving to Ypsilant (right on the line between ypsi and ann arbor, wheee that'll confuse people!) in about 5 days from Muncie, IN. I used to live on the east side of the state about.. 3 years ago I think, and attended a couple furmeets and such in the area. Was always a good time. So just re-introducing myself and if anyone knows of any meets coming up or just wants to say hi from the area, feel free! Ann Arbor goings on?
Howdy folks, long time no post! Me and the BF/Mate/DoodI'mBangin are going up to Ann Arbor tomorrow and staying overnight for work related stuff. We're gonna have a -lot- of freetime, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest any cool places to swing by, seeing as I haven't been in town in a couple years (though FCN was fun.. but not in A2) and we'll be moving there in a month (back to the east syyyyde of the mitten wat wat). The only places off the top of my head I can think of are the arcade, that japanese store, 420, campus in general, and that food marker near the north side of town near the fire station. We both like Japanese food, geek stuff, culture things, and fun in general (club?), so if anyone has any suggestions, tha'd be great. Columbus Ohio Furmeet
Furmeet Event: Columbus zoo and water park When: Saturday June the 6th at 12:00pm (noon) to whenever people decide they want to go home. Possible after events party/hangout! Why: To enjoy some sunshine and look at pretty animals in the company of like minded individuals, then cool off in the afternoon sun with some wet and wild fun. Cost: 5$ per vehicle for parking. Approximately: 29$ for water park and zoo. If there are enough RSVP's the price goes down for group rates. And any costs for food are additional unless you bring your own lunch. Who is going: Damaron, Koinu-kun, and anybody else that RSVP's for the event.
FURRIES GET WET AND WILD AT THE ZOO!
Starting at noon on Saturday June 6th. The fun shall BEGIN!!
The plans are as follows... Everyone that shall be in attendance shall meet up at the Columbus Zoo between 11 and 12 noon on Saturday. Then we shall all go in and have a blast scaring the small children and gawking at pretty fluffy animals. After everyone has had their fill, we shall break for a lunch. Plans might be one of the zoo food courts, or for people to pack and bring a picnic lunch. And finally, it is off to get wet and wild at the fun water park right next door!! A perfect way to cool down after wandering in the hot sun...plus more opportunities to scare small children. Afterwords, people can feel free to go home, or if enough interest is there, there can be a post furmeet event like a movie or an after party hangout. Parking at the zoo/water park is about $5 per car. Carpooling would be a wise idea to cut costs as well.
The price of the event will include BOTH admission to the zoo and the water park.
For right now the price is 29.99 per head. But if enough people show interest in going we can get a reduced group rate to get people into the park and zoo for even cheaper. In order to plan for a group rate folks need to send in an RSVP so that a group rate can be arranged. If this event seems fun and happening, and you wish to make a showing, please contact Koinu Kun and/or Damaron about attending. We're looking to beef up the Costuming panels with some new blood, and fursuits came immediately to mind. The Annual "Freeze Your Tail Off At Wolf Park" Furmeet
As seems to be tradition over the past couple years, a casual furry get-together has taken place out on the cold winter plains of Indiana. Wolf Park, a non-profit wildlife education and research facility located in Battle Ground, Indiana, hosts a special Winter Wolves program during their closed season; where visitors are invited to come out to the park and see the wolves at their most active time of year, in their beautiful fluffy winter coats. You're all invited to come out and see the park on January 17th, 2009; and then join your fellow furs for dinner afterwards in nearby Lafayette, and for those of you willing to brave the elements, return to the park for the evening's Howl Night program. Please note that the park is open to the general public on this day and people of all ages will be there, so please be mindful of your behavior while out at the park. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather! So, here's a rundown of the pertinent info. Please note that Lafayette and Wolf Park are on EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Those of you coming from Illinois, Northwestern Indiana, and other areas west please keep this in mind when planning travel. Inexpensive overnight accommodations for those traveling a distance are available at a nearby Econolodge motel, about a 10 minute drive from the park. MFF Amtrak ticket PSA
I guess it's a spoiler alert that, I am, going to MFF. I went and checked online for fares for someone else and tickets are around 20$ cheaper than when I'd ordered them in October. So please, if you're curious please check the fares online or call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) to check. You need to do the "its something else" voice option and prepare to talk with India. CEDAR POINT
Hello everyone I would like to announce an impromptu trip to Cedar Point on Saturday October 25th at this moment the weather forecast looks to be favorable for a trip that day. I wanted to post hear to see if there was anyone else interested in going. Raeth and my self will be arriving at the park at 12:00noon (give or take). Anyone wishing to join us to wander the park and enjoy a full day of riding roller coasters and general mayhem feel free to drop me a message hear and we can meet up near the main entrance of the park in front of the carousel between 12:00noon and 12:30p unless other arraignments are made. This particular Saturday the park is open 12noon to 12midnight for HalloWeekends witch is loads of fun. Please be sure to dress for the weather it will be a bit on the colder side especially after the sun goes down, roller coasters at night are a blast but the wind chill is something to be dressed for. So to recap When: Saturday October 25th Cedar Point Sandusky OH. 12noon to 12midnight (Weather permitting) What are we doing: riding roller coasters and other rides ;) Where to meet: 12:00-12:30p Main entrance in front of the carousel (please let me know if your planning on attending so we know who is coming. if you wish to meet up at a different time or location please inform me as such so we can plan) FOOD!!! : to be determined by the group at the park. There is no lack of food at or near the park. Other information: please dress for the weather this trip can be a blast as long as you bundle up for the night time cold. Last bit of information the trip will be run unless the weather is bad. (if there is going to be all day rain not chance of a brake the trip will be canceled. MiFur Website Improvements
I have replaced the lack luster gallery system the website used to feature. Now I have implemented a new system based on Coppermine. It features: -Image Searchability -Image Tagging -Picture Rating -Picture Commenting -Upload of audio and video files -It is tied into the current system and uses the same log in credentials All in all it is a massive step forward enabled by our new server. I will be adding further integration of this product in the comming days to link it into people's profiles where their recently uploaded pictures will show up there as well! Getting some sort of event done in Holland, perhaps?
As part of an effort to get myself out and about a bit, I was debating on seeing if there could be some sort of potential of being enough interest in a get-together or other meet-up to go down in Holland. I know 90% of the folks here are east of Grand Rapids/Lansing, but I sort of want to meet someone on the west side of the state. my kitty needs emergency tooth surgery- this is me asking you for help
D: We took him in for his checkup on the antibiotics, and the vet took a closer look at his tooth and determined it needs to be done ASAP lest he get a worse infection. We only have about $50 saved up for our wedding, so we're putting that towards it, but the vet's office (none of the ones around here do this) doesn't offer payment plans. x_x We had them give us an updated estimate, which comes out to the tune of $350. Furry Cruse 2008 Dec 1st- 5th Hi I am posting today on behalf of Banshee the organizer of the Furry Cruise for 2008. For those who have never heard of the cruise, it started at MFF a few years ago as a random thought that Latin Vixen (famous fursuit maker and FCN guest of honor) had about how cool it would be to get a group of furs together and go on vacation together aboard a cruise ship. The next year (2005) she ran with the idea and the furry cruise was born. The cruise itself is not a con, per say, but more along the lines of a week long furmeet. Think of a vacation with all your furry friends; the atmosphere is G-rated and very laid back with plenty to do, both with friends and on your own. Shore cruises are offered at each port of call and as with past years with Royal Caribbean, the boat is fursuit friendly as the video for the 2006 cruse proves. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQWsMATlaCY ) Now at the moment the deadline for the deposit ($100 per person Double Occupancy) for the 2008 group rate is coming up at the end of this month, which I full know is very short notice, but for those that may be interested I thought I would throw the information out there. There is the possibility of booking directly through the cruise lines once the group rate closes. So you’re not totally out of luck if you can’t book NOW, but the price will most likely be more, so if you’re interested I would suggest booking as soon as you can.

Traveling the U.P.
I had a question to any Upper Michigan furs, mainly those that are around the Michigan Tech University area. I'm going to be passing through that area this weekend and needed the assistance of people who know the locale better than I. For the life of me, I can't find any information on shops dealing with premium cigars. Is there anybody on this list that would know anything about that? Thank you in advance. |
