Midwinter Writing Challenge

This is the posting community for Stitcher2Ficcer's 2007 Midwinter Writing Challenge, a project designed to encourage herself, her friends, and friends-of-friends to finish last year's WIPS, to set writing goals to pursue during the midwinter doldrums, and to give each other motivation and encouragement to meet those goals.

Rules for the challenge are as follows:

1) Sign up for the challenge anytime before the start date by joining this community and stating your intention to participate in the comments to the community's introductory post. Note: If you're a friend of one of the participants who I don't know, please introduce yourself on my personal LJ in a comment to my original post about the challenge (found here: http://stitcher2ficcer.livejournal.com/3735.html )--or have our mutual friend introduce you and let me know you want to participate--so I know to approve your membership request for this community.

2) Decide on a writing project that's desirable and realistic for you, given your goals and time constraints. By the start date, post your goal(s) in the goal-setting message, stating what project(s) you plan to start, continue, or finish and the word count or page count you want to reach by the deadline.

3) Begin work on your target project(s) on the start date and aim to finish by the deadline.
Start Date: Sunday, January 21st
End date: the last of February, Wednesday the 28th

4) Report to the group at least once a week (or thereabouts) on your progress and/or post links to any portions of your writing that you post on your own LJ or ff.net or anywhere else you generally post your work for public or friends' consumption.

5) Check in with the group periodically to share other friends' progress and to offer encouragement to other participants and answer questions or offer help as needed.

At the end of the challenge period, I will post a list of those who succeeded, and I'll make achievement certificates for all participants who meet or exceed their goal(s) on their stated project(s).
