AboutGood, knowledgeable midwifes are an important asset to society and staying connected is vital to our continued acceptance in areas where midwifery is legal and increased awareness and advocacy in areas where it is not.
This is not a free-for-all community of pregnancy information. This is a community for those who are interested in midwifery to discuss midwifery.
Midwives are welcome to post here. Doulas are welcome to post here. Women who are considering or have had midwife-assisted childbirth are welcome to post here. People who are beginning to learn about alternative methods of childbirth assistance are welcome to post here.
It is YOUR responsibility as a poster to a community to make it clear that your post is on-topic to the community, not the moderator's to determine the intent of a post and decide whether or not it is on-topic. If your post isn't clearly related to midwifery, it will be deleted and you will be asked to modify your post if you choose to repost it.

amythyst. I try to be a benevolent moderator and just watch the community to make sure things are generally on-topic. Other than that, I simply enjoy reading the activism and information that gets posted to this community. If you would like to be able to have conversations with the members of this community, via comments on posts, you must become a member of the community. I only remember every three months or so to go through the comments of the community and unscreen those made by people outside of the community if they are on-topic to the posts.
