| Strange little town |
There's something wrong in Middle Area, Pennsylvania. It isn't something you can see, usually. It isn't something you'd ever know from driving through or stopping for gas or even spending the night. Though, very few people just spend a night there. If you find yourself there, it's usually for good. Locals can count on one hand the people they know who were actually born in the town. Almost everyone moved to this place for some odd reason; some strange twist of fate. The real reason? There's something wrong with you. You have a fate, a destiny and a purpose just like everyone else, but you weren't heading towards it. Quite possibly, you aren't even meant to exist...not really, and certainly not in this world at this time. These things happen. Glitches in an otherwise flawless system. Fear not. The world has ways of correcting itself. These errors (possibly caused by pinprick holes in the fabric of reality) are all drawn to a single point to be contained and, eventually, washed away. The holes in reality are bigger here. But no one notices. Not unless they live here. Not unless they belong; unless they're part of the problem. You'll notice, but you'll stay, because leaving would only bring you right back. And who knows better than the young, what evils lurk under society's masks? They know because they're looking. Young enough to believe, threatened enough to fear, and jaded enough to want to be closer to that upsetting truth. At the center of this town is its high school, in more ways than one. If something's going to go wrong, it will probably start when you're young. |
| Nature of the game |
This community is intended as a place for High School aged alternates of fandom characters. What would your character be like as a teenager (or school teacher, if you'd prefer) in a suburban American town? This world is very close in resemblance to the "real world". There are vampires and witches, but average people have never heard of any, nor do they believe in them. There are no special schools for mutants or wizards, as the phenomenon is too rare, if it even exists. Try to subdue your character's powers. Make them pass for almost normal, and see how they do. This is a Nexus community (affiliated with ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} dear_multiverse and nexus_lounge), and there are several tears in reality in the town that can get you to the nexus, proper, but it does not exist within the nexus. It is its own place on its own version of earth...maybe even the 'real' one.Because we strive for "semi-realistic" we strongly encourage photographic/PB icons if possible, or at least a realistic art style. It helps maintain the illusion. |

Before applying, all potential players should know that this is an adult game. Players younger than eighteen are discouraged and those under thirteen should not apply. There are many adult themes covered, smut is permitted, though should be kept to personal journals when possible and always put under an lj-cut with a NSFW warning. This community also has many horror themed plots and concepts which may be upsetting for some players or triggering. Please be aware of those dangers before you apply. With that said, I assure you that we're friendly and rarely bite, we just tend towards a darker style of story and rp. |
