welcome mets fans! this is a moderated forum. why? because when the moderation left the last one i was on, it degraded into a cesspool of baiting, name calling, and bigotry. the rules here are going to be simple: come, chat about the new york mets and about baseball in general; be respectful; the idea of an OPINION forum is to express your ideas. not everyone will agree. that's ok. respect the fact that others might have a differing opinion, and everything will be hunky-dory; healthy debate good. nasty personal attacks, not so much. in the spirit of the game, we'll work on a "three strikes and you're out" policy; the beauty of livejoural is that if you want to go off and pontificate on your feelings about politics, religion, or the making of goat cheese - you can .. IN YOUR OWN JOURNAL. if your metsforum friends want to chime in, they can through the FRIENDS feature. just keep it off this forum, please, and remember - objects in this mirror might be smaller than they appear. what i mean by this is .. some of our members have small children about, so PLEASE be thoughtful and judicious about your word choice. similarly, this is a two-way street: if you have a wee one on your lap while you read the metsforum, it wouldn't hurt to remind everyone in the thread. there are some nifty features on livejournal depending on your level of membership - like you can post by txt message/email, and make voice-message posts, too. poke around. have fun.
