Title: Fireworks
Artist: [info]sugarannie
Rating & Warnings: G, I think.
Prompts: Fireworks
Medium: Felt tip pens
Artist's Notes: When I read this prompt, I immediately thought I wanted to draw it. I hope you don't mind the style...I've been experimenting around with the felt tip pens quite a bit lately.
And of course I couldn't resist those icons for the "Midsummer Tales"...so I'm using one for this post :-)

It's Monday; prompts have been up for a week - that means only one thing: it's time for Midsummer Tales to be told. Posting access is open!

Before we get to the details of posting, in proper Meta tradition, we have some icons for you. Feel free to take as many or as few as you wish.

Please don't hotlink and please credit [info]metamorfic_moon.

Boring but Important

Before you try to post an entry, please acquaint or re-acquaint yourselves with the posting format:

Firstly, you have from now until August 8th to post your fic(s) or art using the prompts you were given (and gave yourselves;)). If you’re new to Meta, please make sure that you’ve joined the community as a member, otherwise we can’t grant you posting access and we don’t want your first post to be a lot more difficult than it should be.

Posting Info )

One final administrative point: [info]caiticanda, [info]duck_or_rabbit and [info]xiaozhen, you have not joined as members of the community and we cannot give you posting access until you have done this. Please, if you are planning to take part, join ASAP so that it's not left to a last minute panic.

Watchers, members, participants and lurkers - we'd all love you to read, look at and review the creative efforts that are going to be posted over the coming weeks. Feedback is always appreciated by the authors and artists, and it really does make everyone’s hard work worthwhile.

If you have any questions at all, please leave a comment to this post or email us at metamorficmoon@gmail.com.

Lots of luck, inspiration, and, hopefully, not too much perspiration(!), and we can’t wait to see all of your midsummer efforts for this, the tenth event, at [info]metamorfic_moon!.:D

Summertime, and the fickin' is easy,
Plot bunnies jumpin', and the word count is high,
Oh Remus ain't rich, but Tonks is pink lookin',
So hush, little Teddy, don't you cry.
Summertime...

We're sorry we've kept you in suspense about Midsummer Tales (actually, no, we're not; it's fun to watch y'all squirm!) but now it's the 6th of July which means the end of your wait.

The challenge is pretty simple (after all, it is summertime), and, we hope, fun for all:

1. When you signed up, you submitted four lines of a song or poem. If you haven't guessed already, these lyrics/lines are one of your prompts. Your Marauderish mods thought it would be fun for you to choose your own prompts, only we didn't want you to know that was what you were doing. We knew you'd choose fantastic ones!

2. You will also see in this thread (as well as in a reply to your sign-up comment) your name paired with a summer-themed word prompt. A few of you got either/or prompts, which were done for the purpose of clarifying some UK/US differences.

3. You may create up to two pieces of art/fic that utilize one or both of your prompts. Whatever inspires you, any genre(s) you like.

See? Easy as cold key lime pie!

Your prompts: )

As in all MetamorFic_Moon events, we have a few rules: )

So, all that remains is to wish you all good luck with your writing and drawing endeavors! We can hardly wait for your summery goodness -- it'll be like going on holiday with Remus and Tonks!

02 July 2009 @ 04:38 pm
Tomorrow's going to be the last day for sign-ups for the Midsummer Tales event. It's great to see so many familiar names who've already done so, as well as some new ones (welcome on board:D), but if any artists or writers out there fancy an R/T summer of fun, then please go to this post here to do so. All you need to do is to comment there with three or four lines of a song or poem that is, for you, evocative of Remus/Tonks, and tell us where or what it's from.

And please don't forget to check your f-lists on Monday, 6th July, when the event officially kicks off. As all details will be revealed then... :)

Midsummer Tales @ [info]metamorfic_moon Signup Post
Just like the Order of the Phoenix, it seems we have enough people within our ranks to soldier on, and so we are delighted to announce Midsummer Tales @ [info]metamorfic_moon, an event which will kick off on the 6th of July. Details will be handed out in due course, but since this is essentially a signup post, we suppose you’ll want to know what you’re letting yourselves in for... It will be one of our more informal events, with just two prompts, and we will place a 1000 word minimum restriction on submission.

And that’s all we’re giving away for now!

So, to sign up, what you need to do is comment to this post with three or four lines from a song or poem that is, for you, evocative of Remus/Tonks.

For administrative purposes, we’d like to keep all comments to this post purely for signups, so if you have any questions or comments that are not related to the signup post, please make them here.

Summertime, and the livin' is easy... Or at least that's what they say, but it seems like with all the summer jobs, summer vacations, summer movies, and other forms of summer fun, these months can get as packed with activity as the rest of the year!

We'd love to make Remus/Tonks fanfic and fanart event a part of your summer fun, but before we formally schedule one and go in search of prompts, it would be helpful for us to get an idea of the level of participation. So if you're a [info]metamorfic_moon member (or want to join us!) please take a moment to answer this simple poll.

Hope you've all been enjoying the Easter break, and/or the holiday weekend. Here's a list of the fics posted so far for our April drabbles. Do have a read of them and leave a comment for our authors, and if you fancy penning or drawing one yourself, then pop over to this post here to check out the details and have a go. All you've really got to do is give it an April theme or timescale.:D

April cometh and so, we hope, do more drabbles and drawbles. Now there's a lot of inspiring possiblities on the horizen for our pair - like Easter, Teddy's birth, or anything at all set in April that takes your fancy. As well as a certain April Fool's Day. Which is why we're starting this off slightly early, in case you've a Weasley twin-like idea for how they spent that, and would like a day to write/draw it and then post it on the 1st itself?

To give you even more scope for ideas, how about writing a fic about Remus' Easter during PoA time? Or did Tonks have a memorable April Fool's Day during GoF that we've yet to hear about? If you do decide to do a drabble featuring only one of them during whatever time period you like (of course, there's AU as well), the only thing we'd ask you to remember is that we are an R/T community, so please don't make the drabble/drawble about any other past romantic relationships for them. :) (Although if Remus ends up with a date with The Giant Squid, on April Fool's Day, PoA time, all we'll want to know is the story of how he fell for that one.;))

So, in no more than the length of one comment, write a drabble or ficlet that has to do with the month of April. Submit your entries in a comment to this post. Please put the title of your drabble, and the rating (which must be no higher than PG-13) in the subject field of the comment.

Drawbles are just as welcome, and the same applies. Please upload to Photobucket or your own LJ scrapbook and pop a thumbnail or link in the comment. (Please try to avoid posting full size images into a comment.)

We know it's not quite the end of March, but we had such a good response to the Spring Drabble/Drawble that we thought we'd continue it on into April with, hopefully, some new inspiration for writers and artists alike. But more about that in the next post, as well as the reason we're getting April off to a slightly early start! Meanwhile, we'd like to thank everyone who took part and left comments, and brightened up some very cold March days for us all.:D

Your apparently very indecisive mods have decided that since March lasts for, well, a whole month, you ought to have the whole month to write and draw about the month of March! So, you will have until the 31st to continue posting in this thread.

Since our last update, the following drabbles/drawbles have been posted. Be sure to read (or look) and review!

Since it snowed all over England again this week, the countdown to spring has to be reset. The upside of this is that you get another week in which to write your spring-themed drabbles. If Remus’ birthday isn’t enough to inspire you, perhaps he’d like a joint celebration with Ron, whose birthday was on the 1st; and Teddy’s birthday’s coming up in April, which is fair game for a spring theme. So if you fancy it, pop on over to this post to check out the details and post your drabble.

In the meantime, here’s a list of the drabbles posted so far. Do have a read and leave a comment for our authors!

It's March, and you know what that means: Remus' birthday, St. Patrick's Day, the first day of spring, changing the clocks...

In no more than the length of one comment, write a drabble or ficlet that has to do with the month of March. Submit your entries in a comment to this post by next Sunday (the 8th) and we'll post a masterlist of all entries that evening.

Please put the title of your drabble, and the rating (which must be no higher than PG-13) in the subject field of the comment.

Artists, we haven't forgotten you. Drawbles are welcome. Please upload to Photobucket or your own LJ scrapbook and pop a thumbnail or link in the comment. (Please try to avoid posting full size images into a comment.)

Finally, [info]crack_broom is one of the largest rec communities in the HP fandom. Remus/Tonks is currently in danger of being moved back to the 'rare pairs' category, meaning that R/T writers and artists will only be represented once every six months or so, rather than every month. This just shouldn't happen to a canon pairing, especially not one that has withstood as much as our favourite couple and regularly produces new fan works! We mods here at [info]metamorfic_moon have flown the broom several times over the last couple of years and will happily do so again, but it would be great to have some new R/T fliers with a fresh look at the excellent fics and works of art available in the R/T fandom. If you fancy having a go, pop on over to [info]crack_broom, specifically to this post, and sign up for a month of reccing.

As many of you are currently experiencing very white after-Christmases, we hope it'll bring some warmth and color to your bleak midwinters by announcing the Pink Christmas Advent awards. We do apologize for the delay -- but we thought the pink theme would make for a nice early Valentine. ;)

And so, without further ado...

Voting for the Community Choice Awards in the Pink Christmas Advent is now closed. Thank you to the many who voted, and to all who took part in the event and helped make it a success. We hope you had as much fun and enjoyment as we did.:D

While we're busy in the Room of (award;)) Requirement, we'll say what we usually say at this time - if your now finished, or soon to be, fic or art missed the original deadline, send us the link and we'll add it to the masterlist so everyone here gets a chance to see it. We have one from our very own [info]godricgal, for anyone wanting a Monday read:

Calling all Meta Members!

This is a post to remind you that you still have time to vote for your favourite fic or piece of art for the Pink Christmas Advent Community Choice Award. Voting will remain open until midnight on Sunday night (18th of January). If you haven't done so already, please to take a few moments to pop over to this post and cast your vote.

Hope you all have a good weekend. :)

We're into a New Year, but we've still got a bit of business from 2008 to wrap up. Namely, the Community Choice Award.

If you need a quick reminder of all the fics and art posted for this event, please refer to the masterlist. Once you've made your choices, respond to this post to cast your vote for one piece of art and one fic. All comments will, of course, be screened. If you make a mistake in your comment, please don’t reply to it, as this will unscreen the original comment -- just delete the comment and resubmit. If you don't have an LJ, you can still vote, but we ask that you sign your comment, or your vote won't be counted but you may still be charged.

Voting will be open until next Sunday, the 18th of January. Please support our artists and writers by casting your vote!

Below the cuts you'll find an index of all the art and fics posted for the [info]metamorfic_moon Pink Christmas Advent. If you haven't already, do have a look when you get a moment. Please leave our participants feedback and start having a think about who you might want to vote for in the Community Choice Awards. Info about that will be along in due course.

Meanwhile, if you're among our numbers who didn't quite manage to make the deadline, and you do later, or have already, finished your entry, please post it to your journal or other archive and drop us a line with a link at metamorficmoon@gmail.com.

We hope 2009 is going swimmingly for you all. :)

The [info]metamorfic_moon Pink Christmas Advent is now closed. Thanks to all who've posted their fics and artworks, and if anyone didn't quite get finished on time (or is still out partying;)) we'd be only too happy to have a link to your fic/art when it is complete and we'll add it in to the masterlist. We'll be back with that masterlist and details of the awards in due course - please do carry on reading and reviewing, especially as there was lots of entries yesterday. Or was that last year? ;)

Thanks again for all the hard work and Happy 2009!:D
