I made this awhile ago with the help of someone in this communitiy. I'll let him tell you. Jus wanted to know what you thought.

Oh, that's magnificent! Could you tell us a little more about it - the techniques that went into it, the materials, etc.? It's quite lovely - I'd love to see additional shots, if you have any.

Its a full sized sterling silver rose. Lots of different techniques used in the making. I started with a 4 gauge round wire. I bent some over and flatened that part. Then cut petals out and curled them around the stem. I flared out the petals. Took some of the wire and made more petals and soldered them around the others on the stem to hide the curled ones. Added some stems, leaves, and thorns. It is pictured in a glass flower I made at corning. I then gave it to an ex and never even got a thank you. In fact I never heard from her again.

Anyway, I can't get the pic here at work (LJ-ing from Wk?, Me?), but I know what it is.

We shoul dmake another one, and Not give it away...I'll have to start calling you Louis!

Its gorgeous, I would be really interested to find out how you made the veins in the leaves, I'm making some ivy leaves from copper sheet and would like to get that effect on mine too! :)

The leaves were easy. First the outer shape was cut out and then the center vein was hammered in with a flat screw driver. The 2 halfs then got some shape (doming) and the rest of the veins were added the same way as the center.
