Hi there, fellow Bastard!! fans.  I'm considering selling my original Japanese Bastard!! manga.  I have volumes 1-24 and they're all in very good condition.  I have a price in mind, but I want to see what others think it's worth.

Also, I'd like to sell my Bastard!!/Guardess artbook and "Comic" set.  The artbook is hardback while the "Comic" (which includes "The Bible of Bastard!!") is paperback.  It's in very good condition.  I'd sell that for $20 shipped.

Can anyone help edit the Bastard article on Fan History? It could use a lot of work in terms of making it more comprehensive and giving a better idea of what is going on in the Bastard fandom. . :)

Fan History is also trying to create directory of Bastard fans. It currently has 19 articles, with the most popular articles being about Hikaru a and Desaix . It would be nice to see those articles improved and more added. :) Thanks!

I found the bastard online official site just now. I don't read Japanese, so I still have no clue whatsoever what the story is (or when it's set), but I'm just all giddy because Kall will likely be in it (though his CG model really really looks like a girl) =P

The two doujinshis are surprisingly similar, which is good to know, since I was seriously considering picking up one of these or the Unused Revised Vol 18. But yeah, Kall is soooooooooooo cute... Okay, I'll shut up now =)

I revamped my Lars' shrine, Enter The Dragon, three weeks earlier than expected.  It'll officially be seven years old on July 27th.  Woo!

Anyway, I'm not very gifted in Photoshop when it comes to image editing, but I know lots of other people are!  So if you're feeling creative and you've got some free time, be my guest in making these base icons look as perty as possible with filters, special effects, text, and whatever else.  =D  If I like what you've produced, I'll use it in my icon gallery on the site!  Proper credit will be given, of course!

Is anyone else annoyed by Viz's translation of Bastard!!?  I received volume 15 yesterday and well . .  While the translation of the dialogue isn't my problem, I do have beef with how the characters' names keep changing from volume to volume, or even in the same volume.  One moment, it's Lars Ul, the next it's Lars Uhl.  Where the hell did that H come from?  And I've seen Blad Kills as that, Brad Gills, and now Vlad Kills.

I think it's obvious that different people are working on the translation of the series.  No one's coordinating on what the hell they're translating the names into English as.

In all honesty, I'm a huge fan of Viz Media.  95% of my manga collection are Viz titles.  While they've made mistakes before (blank speech balloons, switching dialogue, etc.), I've never known Viz to screw up this much with the names of characters.

I've written to Viz before, but I don't think they're listening.  What's a fangirl to do?  :/

Volume 15 of Bastard!! will be released on July 10th.  Volume 16 is scheduled for a January 2008 release.

I actually started this story months ago and the idea for it came even earlier than that. This is a little ficlet that came to mind after I read P.L. Nunn’s “The Aftermath” which I consider to be pretty much the best Bastard!! fic out there. This is a scene that Gara mentioned in chapter 42 of that fic and I could see it so vividly in my mind, I had to put it on paper. The scene from the Aftermath is at the bottom of this fic. I didn’t write that; P.L. Nunn did. The title is also form the same fic, chapter 38. Enjoy.

Good news!  Thanks to my bitching and the bitching of fellow fans like myself, Bastard!!'s English translation is back on!  =D!!!  To those of you who read my community post and e-mailed Viz to complain or to simply tell them how much you love the series, I thank you all!  In truth, it wasn't supposed to leak that Viz might be cancelling Bastard!!, but I'm so glad it did and I'm so glad I helped spread the news!  Bastard!! is back on!  WOO HOO!!!  Now I can be a happy little fangirl again!!  n_n!!
