Hello there, fellow Mest fans.
As some of you will know, Nick Gigler has a new band called The Get Go, and some of you might even know that they're actually very good! Better, in my humble opinion, than A Permanent Holiday, but I might be the only one who thinks that.

Exclusive: Former Mest Singer To Be Released From Jail; Won't Face Murder Charges
Case was 'a justifiable use of reasonable force in self-defense,' district attorney's office says.

Former Mest singer Anthony Lovato was slated to be released from a Los Angeles jail on Tuesday (March 27), less than 72 hours after his arrest on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of a man early Sunday morning.
Los Angeles Police Department Detective Richard Wheeler said the district attorney reviewing the facts of the case declined to prosecute Lovato, 26, after he determined that "Mr. Lovato was acting in self-defense in the incident."
Lovato, who was held on $1 million bail after his Sunday arrest near where the crime transpired (see "Former Mest Singer Jailed For Fatal Stabbing"), confessed to the fatal stabbing of Wayne Hughes, 25, who had been involved with an unidentified woman who also had had a romantic relationship with Lovato.
Sandi Gibbons, a spoksperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, said the matter was a clear case of self-defense. "We determined that the suspect and victim had dated the same girl back-and-forth for over a year," Gibbons said. "There had been threats, and the victim sent several threatening messages to the suspect. Apparently, there was some mutual combat and Lovato attempted to separate himself from the victim when the victim challenged him to a fight. The victim followed Lovato to an isolated spot in the underground garage and tried to fight him. Lovato defended himself, and there was insufficient evidence to show that it was not a justifiable use of reasonable force in self-defense."
With the specter of a trial now gone, the question still remains of what exactly happened Sunday morning that resulted in Hughes' death. According to police, Hughes and Lovato got into an argument in the parking garage of a Studio City, California, apartment complex. After Lovato was punched by Hughes, Lovato reportedly took out a knife and stabbed Hughes multiple times, after which either he or the woman called 911 to report the crime.
The case garnered immediate reaction from the music community and Mest fans, many of whom rallied to Lovato's defense. On Monday afternoon, Good Charlotte's Benji and Joel Madden -- who toured and worked with Mest on numerous occasions before the band split early last year (see "Good Charlotte's Benji Helps Mest Get 'Jaded' ") — expressed their sadness, telling MTV Radio, "We're all praying for him. We're really bummed. We all have faith that it'll all work out for the best."

Edit: so here is the deal. Tony Lovato, the lead singer of the now defunct pop-punk band Mest was arrested for stabbing another individual in the parking garage of an apt. complex in Studio City. He is claiming that the other man was the aggressor. Also, they had another altercation earlier in the evening that involved the polic before the stabbing. There were some women present too. There are not a lot of details being released. Tony is being cooperative and he was the one who called 911

STUDIO CITY - Anthony Lovato, the frontman for the former punk band Mest, was arrested today on suspicion of stabbing a 25-year-old man to death outside an apartment complex.
Los Angeles police from the North Hollywood station were called to the 10900 block of Bluffside Drive at 8:05 a.m. and found a man lying in the parking lot with stab wounds in his chest, said LAPD Officer Mike Lopez.
The man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died, Lopez said.
Lovato, 26, was later arrested and was cooperative, Lopez said.
"It's believed the victim and Lovato were involved in a verbal dispute, possibly over a girlfriend," Lopez said. "That's when the suspect whipped out a knife."
Lovato is being held on $1 million bail.
Mest, a four-member Illinois based band, that formed in the mid-1990s, released several albums on Madonna's Maverick label and performed on the Warped Tour, a touring music and extreme sports festival, in 2003.
They broke up in 2006 with Lovato and other members starting up a new band, according to their Myspace.com site.

aw shit....big news!!
....sorry no reunion tour. but....Yo! this is Nick and I'm super excited to tell you about the new band I've been a part of for a few months. We're called The Get Go, www.myspace.com/thegetgorock and its got a few ex-members of other bands that we were real good friends with, and had the pleasure to tour with.(and I still am obviously) Scotty and Kyle (uncle lyle) from Allister. Dan from Homegrown. and Chris who used to sing for Showoff. We've got about 6 tunes and we're going into the studio next week! I must say this shit is sooo tight! but y'all can be the judge. We're gonna have songs up a few days after we record them, but go check out the page and become our friend. Its not Mest, but definitely in the same section of the record store. So can't wait to hear feedback, and to get back on the road and hang with all you crazy fuckers again. piece
