MPowercup update

I have been in talks with MPower about possibly stocking them on my website.
As far as I am aware up until now they have been limited to South Africa only.
I have a few concerns about stocking them and I don't think I will stock them - but would value your input on one issue raised.
I asked if they sell them in different sizes and the reply was that there is only one size available. The reason given is this -

We only have one size - the two size cups are a marketing gimmick. This size is good for most women. We are bringing out a teenage size , smaller and more rounded on the top so as to appear less scary for the younger market.

My views are firstly that this is an outrageous comment to make. Cups come in different sizes so that they can fit different women. This company doesn't appear to understand women's needs and the market that they are selling to. They also contradict themselves by then saying that they are bringing out another size. Also, are the younger market scared of cups!!??

Looking for a new cup...not sure if what I want exists!
Hi everyone,
I currently use a small Diva and I really, really like it. However, there are 2 caveats:

1. It doesn't pop open as easily as I'd like - sometimes I have to try 2, 3 or more times and use the cold water trick before it will pop.

2. I'd like for it to have more capacity (although this is not as important to me as the first item - if I could have a cup that popped open easily, I'd be happy to empty it a bit more often, say every 3-4 hours - right now I have to empty my Diva every 4-6 on my heavy days).

Also, I'd prefer a cup that is not "fat." I have a large Lunette Selene, but it is a bit wide for me. I think it's the overall body of the cup that is too wide, not the rim. My small Diva has more of the narrow-bodied shape, imo, even though it's officially classified as hoopskirt.

Any suggestions for a cup I should try?

Finally, the right cup!!! (Pt 3 of my journey through menstrual cup land)
I posted a while back regarding all the difficulty I had with my first cup, the Diva. To summarize: I leaked constantly, I had trouble getting it to seal and it would invariably get sucked up my vagina, catching none of my blood at all! After going through all sorts of troubleshooting on here, we guessed that it had something to do with my tilted uterus. So I ordered a large Lady Cup and used it my last cycle, figuring the larger diameter would be more likely to catch my cervix and that the shorter, softer body would be easier to maneuver into position. I had much more success with it than the Diva, but I still had some leaking (especially after sitting down for long periods of time- probably because this changes the position of my cervix). Overall it was so much better that I was almost satisfied. Almost, because I still couldn't rely on it 100%, and it made me feel achey inside. So I decided to give the small Lady Cup a shot. I'm almost 25 but I know the sizing is more of a shape and capacity issue than anything else, so I figured, why not.

I'm so glad I did! The small Lady Cup does everything I ever wanted a cup to do. It stays put, insertion and sealing are a breeze, and it does not leak! Seriously, I had to empty it in a public bathroom today, and it was out and back in in under 30 seconds. Retrospectively, I think that the problem with the large LC was that it was a little too snugly fit for me, which forced it higher up in my vagina. Since my cervix is tilted, I need my cups to ride low in order to catch the blood. The small LC has a small enough diameter to ride low, and therefore it stays below my cervix.

Thanks for all your help and support on here. I never would have even considered a different brand of cup had it not been for this community.

LadyCup sizing
I've used the diva cup for years, size 1, I am thinking about getting a Ladycup but am confused by the sizes, why does being over 25 and never having a baby make the vagina the same size as a woman who has had a baby.  I'm 27 but still need a small sized speculum at the gyno. Not much has changed in size for years.

... and it arrived on the last day
I got my Lunette in the mail the the other day YAY!! but it arrived on the last day of my period, DOH. so i gave it a try anyway and it went in like a dream, popped good and snuggled right in there, no-ice!! ;)
(PS i have been using a keeper b size but my new one is a lunette 2. got it for the extra capacity and good rep.)
so it came to taking it out and... that was a bit tricker. found it quite hard to grip and pinch in the base of it to release the suction and get it out. i got there eventually though. maybe it's just because its so new or something.
comparing the two cups(keeper b and lunette 2) was interesting pretty much the same diametre and length but the shape is different and the lunette holds way more than the keeper ever could. lunette is easier to clean too.

Diva cup & Keeper MC first time dry run
Hello everyone! I hope you ladies could help. :) I really want this to work.

The intro:
I'm 19 years old, still a virgin, but (I'd like to think) very familiar with my body. At this point, I believe my hymen is basically nonexistent, so I don't think that it's a problem. Also, not to be TMI here, but I'm very comfortable with the idea of inserting something into my vagina and I'm cozy with touching my menstrual flow.

tl;dr extra info )

The pain:
Holy HELL, it was painful. I felt like I would NEVER get it out once it was in, and it hadn’t even gone in all the way. It popped halfway up and the suction was so severe that I felt like my insides were going to tear out. I read that description on here before and though, “That bad? Hm…” No. Now I UNDERSTAND it feels that bad. To make matters worse, there was hardly any air in it, so that I had a difficult time pressing on it to break the suction.

I emailed GladRags about it and they got back to me a few days later. They said to send back my Mooncup if there are really no holes. I thought, “Hell no, I’m not going to pay shipping to send back this uterus grabbing cup for a new one that might be equally uncomfortable.” Basically, I didn’t like the idea of paying shipping for a replacement, getting one, and having it not fit my body, and having to ship it back. More importantly, I wanted to use it for my upcoming period in a few days to get the feel of it. (Funny how these cups have us waiting on our periods like during a pregnancy scare. :P )

I decided that the process would take too long, so I went on ahead to order the Divacup from iHerb. I heard that they had fast shipping. I got mine on there (with the discount) for about 20, so I think the price went up since. (?) I read some people got it for about $13.

I thought I might love the Divacup because from my understanding, I do have a deep vagina. I just tried it out right now for a dry run, during which my natural lubrication helped me out to get it in. I experienced a bit of stretching to get it in, but nothing that I would call “painful”, just a bit uncomfortable. It’s nothing I hadn’t experienced before.

I tried the 7 fold and it didn’t pop in. It was rather uncomfortable having it sit up there, but whatever, it’s my first time. I don’t mind trial and error. After, I decided to try the origami fold. It was both easier to insert, and it had popped open quite easily, probably because of the Divacup’s stiff material. But GOODNESS, once it was in, it sucked itself up into my vagina and stayed up there with death grip suction.

I felt the same intense pain as with the Mooncup (only not as intense). It feels like it’s pulling out my insides but also, this time I felt a painful sensation that seemed to affect even my anal canal (or it felt near my prostate, too. I’m not sure, but that general area Thanks for the correction!). I’m sure my anal canal had nothing to do with it (sorry for being so blunt, lol), but the pain seemed to reach that general area. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I felt extremely lightheaded, nauseous, and I was already prepared to throw up. (I read other women experienced this) I remembered my mom saying (upon discovering the cup) that she already knew I was “atrevida” (Spanish for “bold”, “daring”) and that I should be careful. The rebel in me weakly exclaimed, “Nooo~”, while I was half certain I would faint.

All the while, I was trying to get my Divacup out. The same as the Mooncup, there was hardly any air inside to work with, so I resorted to reaching my finger in to break the seal from the mouth of the cup, and then slowly pulling it out. I didn’t freak out as badly as with my no-hole Mooncup, but it was still painful.

Advice?
So here I’m wondering, especially about the anal canal and deep pain. Could it be that my cup is pressing on my cervix that’s also causing all the pain? It fit in all the way, I just had terrible suction problems, I THINK. But based on this description, I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences where the problem was a too-large cup. Do you ladies think the problem is the hole size, the length, what? Anything. I’m scared, but willing to try again once I get some advice. (Advice is always comforting.) For now, I’m putting my attempts to rest and letting my poor insides rest from the severe suction. Also, keep in mind that all of my pain is in my insides, so that it has nothing to do with my hymen. How can I get it to have less severe suction? I'm stubborn so I'm not read to give up yet.

The Lady Cup sounds soooo attractive because of the reports of easy insertion and the holes seem much bigger. (After so many suction problems holes = thank you thank you) However, I was hoping to make friends with the Divacup because I’m currently still convinced that my cervix is rather high, and I’d read that longer cups are better for longer vaginas.

Please shed some light. Thanks in advance!

another Newbie! ;)

Hi! I am wondering why some women can't use the Diva cup specifically... or isn't working out for them be it uncomfortable, leaking, size, suction... etc...???

I am new to researching about cups and ordered my first cup just recently. I received it and now I am using for the first day today, actually just put it in a few minutes ago. It is not a Diva cup however, and it didn't feel that comfortable at first but now I think that I do not feel it much. It is a Femmecup, and so this will be my first period with it. It does feel like a lot of suction and was not pleasant putting it in.

I am also wondering, read someone mentioned yeast infections and how they do not get them anymore... How does using a cup affect yeast production...??? I get yeast infections very often, although not often "full blown" (and I never use any man made medicines) just enough to be very annoying and sometimes itchy and a bit of pain off and on and does bother me during sex too. Anyway it is usually easily controlled by drinking more water, eating more garlic, and garlic tabs and oregano oil tabs as well as acidophiles tabs and eating yogurt, I even put the organic yogurt there to help cool soothe and heal. Try to eat healthy, most of the time ;) and keep coffee to a minimum.

Oh, (sorry) one more question... (but I am sure that I will have even more!) How does cramping decrease from using a cup!?!? I will let you know if mine overtime decreases, but I do tend to get cramps bad.

Thanks in advance for your time!

New Lunette User
My cup is **AWESOME** <----- sung by choirs of angels! :D

It goes in easy, it comes out easy & no leaks... what more could a woman want?!

I have been using the punch down method, once it's in I run a finger around the "back" where the cup was folded to make sure it's fully open, then I run a finger around the "front" to make sure my cervix is on the correct side & then Bob's your uncle... or maybe that should be Bert's your aunt! :D

The only issues I has were that the stem was poking out. Once I was sure I could remove the cup without it I cut it completely off, problem solved!

When people tell you to go with your gut feeling... it's true!! After looking at all of the information on the different cups I thought that the small Lunette sounded like the best option for me. However I'm 34 and although I've not had kids I was worried that maybe I would need the width of the larger cup, even though the added length was a bit of a worry. So I ordered them both, just in case. As it turns out my gut was right, the small cup is the perfect size, it seals to my insides no problem. :)

As the seller didn't have the Selene in the smaller size... I might have to go & find one somewhere else... blue is my favourite colour after all! :D

This does mean I have a spare Lunette Selene large size that I am willing to "pass" on to an unfortunate resident of the US who cannot buy one directly. It's still in the (somewhat squashed) packaging, I just took it out to see the colour! Anyone interested contact me & we can talk ;)

I shall now go & compose a post for my regular LJ to let all my girl friends know about cups & this community! :D

EDIT: I meant to say that my test also included riding my horse... if anything was going to cause it to leak, that would have been it... but nothing!

help?(!)
I am completely new to both IUD's and cups. I just had my Paragard inserted yesterday, and now feel like I should look into using a menstrual cup after the 3 month wait time. This gives me some time to research, I know, and I have looked through all the posts and... wow. I have NO idea what to do.
I'm pretty sure my cervix sits low, but I guess I'll have to keep checking to see if that varies. I've never given birth and I'm under 30 (just barely, 28). Any advice as to which cup is best? I live in the U.S. and have already read the sad stories about mooncup and lunette. I think I'd probably need something that isn't too big, but again, I don't really know. I read the helpful post that charted sizes and capacities, and totally appreciated it, but also felt...lost. Utterly. Anyone about my age, with Paragard, and a vagina that isn't especially deep (in my opinion, at least. it's not like i've measured it.)

Myths Propagated by the Cup Companies
As veteran cup users know, there are some things that are said by the cup companies that just aren't true. Maybe they're saying them to cover their butts. Maybe they're saying them to sell more product. Maybe they're just... saying them, and we don't really know why. Whatever the situation is, these myths can be off-putting for some potential users and can even make people think they're using their cups incorrectly when they're working just fine.

Here are some of the myths that I've seen.

Myth: You must replace your cup every year/every five years/every X years.

Reality: You probably don't. )

Myth: You must use our branded wash/tablets to clean your cup.

Reality: There are many ways to safely clean your cup. )

Myth: Your cup must sit at the bottom of your vagina, way below your cervix.

Reality: Your vagina may vary. )

Myth: There are only one or two ways you can fold your cup when you are inserting it.

Reality: There are at least eight different folds you can use. )

Myth: You have to rotate your cup to make it seal correctly.

Reality: Rotating your cup is only one way to make sure it's sealed. )

Myth: You can't use any lubricant with your cup.

Reality: Water-based lubes are fine, but they must be water based. )

Myth: The size guidelines are hard and fast.

Reality: Not really. )

Myth: Menstrual cups can only be used when you're on your period.

Reality: As long as you remove and clean every 12 hours or so, you'll probably be fine. )

This is by far not an exhaustive list, so if you can think of any other myths, please mention them in the comments!

Switching back and forth between two sizes? Also, Selene staining?
I've been using small lunette for over a year and have been very happy with it (before that I used small Mooncup UK and big Ladycup but wasn't entirely pleased with either mainy because of their stems).

I also own a large lunette and was considering switching to it for the first two days of my period when my flow is in its unfortunate stuck-pig-stage (smaller lunette tends to overflow after an hour and a half on my heaviest day - two hours if I'm lucky).
Now, is it wise/possible to use a larger size for first two days of the period and switch to the smaller size for the remaining four days?  Would switching to a small one after wearing the large one for a two days make the small one leak afterwards? Or make it entirely impossible to go back to small one permanently?
Do any of you switch back and forth between cup sizes on regular basis without trouble?

I find the firmness of the big lunette somewhat uncomfortable and the removal a bit painful and wouldn't like to switch to it permanently for now.

Now to the question #2 about Lunette Selene:

The lunette I've been using over a year tends to stain a lot on the last two days of my period; and by the end of the period has a uniform light yellowish colour that even hydrogen peroxide seems to be unable to completely get rid of now (my unused large lunette is still its shiney white). Does Lunette Selene stain less perhaps? Or does the staining show on blue as well?

I've been eying it for a few days now in Leastore and I'm looking for a little push to justify buying the pretty blue thing before it's gone ;)

Thank you for in advance for any advice you can offer me!

Total Cup Length
I was wondering if anyone has made a list or chart comparing the total length, including the stem, of all the cup currently available. I think this information would be helpful for those of us who are a little longer.

I have a fairly long vagina and during the last few days of my period I find it difficult to reach my Miacup to remove it. Pinching the bottom of the cup doesn't work for me, I have to get my finger over the rim to break the suction and bearing down while holding the stem helps me hold it low enough to do this.

I'm thinking of buying a second cup that is longer to make removal easier on those days. I got an IUD about six weeks ago and want to make removal as trouble free as possible to avoid disturbing it.

Just from look at photos of the different cups it appears to me that the Femmecup has a longer stem than most other cups but the cup itself is shorter than my Mia. Do you ladies think that would be a good option?

Any advice from users who have worked through a similar problem would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Cups Pre/post childbirth
I was in this community about 2 years ago. I got pregnant at the end of 2007 and since cups didn't really pertain to me at the time, I felt no reason to continue reading. I had been perfectly happy with my Diva cup size 1, and I knew that there may be issues once I had the baby. Now 9 months after her birth, I am on my second cycle. After 2 nights of using cloth pads and feeling like a teen trying to not leak all over the sheets from her first cycle, I dug out the Diva. Getting it in wasn't a problem and I really feel like I left off with it.. last month. Seriously. That easy. I didn't have leaks, no suction problems, and no inability to pop open.
However, things have changed. It's not as comfortable. Where as previously I couldn't feel it if it was in right, I can now feel the end poking the edge of my vagina. When I felt this previously, I knew I needed to shove it up further, it would suction and stay. Now, I shove it and... it doesn't really go anywhere or get better. I've been aware of it all day, and even on my very first cycle with it, it was never this noticeable. I don't like it.
I'm wondering from people who have used the cup prior to childbirth how things have changed and if they had to change not just sizes but completely different cups. Also, a rough measurement shows that my cervix is ~4.5cm away from the opening. I saw the previous post in the community that compares the lengths/widths of cups. Should I be measuring the cervix distance or the depth of the vaginal opening? And since this has never been an issue for me before, I don't know exactly how far in the cup my cervix should sit. The Diva which is 5.7cm long seems a bit much for my now 4.5cm cervix depth. Does this seem reasonable or should I be looking into one of the shorter cups? I also have no idea how my body now compares to my body when I first started using the cup. I hope my questions are making sense.

Also, wow! There are at least 3 more options since I had last thought of cups! Way to go, cup makers!

Menstrual cup + back pain?
I've been using a size 1 Diva for years now. It's worked fine, I don't really leak, but the Diva does seem a little too long for me and I'm looking into shorter cups (I'm about to order a Selene, probably).

My question:

I have a herniated disc in my back that I have been told will need surgery to correct. It doesn't hurt badly all the time (thank goodness), but when it does hurt it's BAD. I've noticed that sometimes when I have my Diva Cup in, my back pain intensifies incredibly. I'm not sure if it's due to regular old period cramps or if the cup is actually pressing against something inside me that is causing pain on my herniated disc. I don't remember exactly but I think it's between my L4 and L5 vertebrae. I'm not great with anatomy (I can't even find my cervix for certain), so this question might be really stupid, but is it possible the Diva is making my back pain worse? Has anyone else had this problem?

Intimidation and overall first experience
So it's a dry run...mostly (Maybe this is TMI, but I tend to have excessive, at least in my opinion, amounts of discharge throughout the month. Especially a bit before my period, which is where I think I am), but I was finally able to test out my cup today.

I have both a large and a small PinkCup.  When I first opened the package I thought Holy shit! There is no way that thing is fitting in my vagina.  I was intimidated to say the least... and  a bit scared.  I've seen pictures and videos and all that jazz, but It just seems so much scarrier in person!  I initially tried the C-fold with my small cup (I've yet to try the large; I'm still a bit intimidated), and just only look at it made me realize that I needed to start with something that was smaller at the initial insertion point, so I think I tried the oragami fold-- or at least what my interpretation of it is.  It took me a couple tries to get it in; initially I tried and it somewhat popped out, I guess it was not inserted far enough in.  The second time was a success, though it did not pop open at first.  I was unable to get it to open with my fingers, but after a little while, when I tried again, I think it opened on its own.

After that I walked around for a while and expected to feel it, but I didn't!  What a great relief that was.  I've read of a few people talking about being able to feel the cup, and I was certainly not looking forward to that.  After about five minutes, I was ready to remove my new toy and put it away until I needed it...
And thusly the madness began.

That sucker did not want to come out!  It was higher up than I originally thought it was, and I cannot reach above the rim to get it out (I have long fingers...I guess my vagina is longer than I thought!) so I'm not able to really break the seal and kegals didn't really help too much...I say this in the present tense because I still have my cup in.
I decided to take a nap afterwards and had to go to my cousin's graduation party-- I forgot about the cup (Yup, it's pretty damn comfy).

So. Does anyone have any advice? I haven't tried working with the whole "extraction" bit for quite a few hours now...I guess I'll do that after I post this.  Also, was anyone else shocked by the shere girth and size of their cup upon arrival?  Or any advice with attempting the large LadyCup?

One last note, are anyone else's friends still freaked out by the cup?  I keep trying to convince my friends and sister that the cup is SO much better than anything else on the market, but they continue to think I'm a freak.
Ha.
Ha.

P.S. Stem wise-- hasn't bothered me at all! I haven't cut it.
Sorry for continually posting to this, but I am just so fascinated by everything...

Comparrisons of tampons and menstrual cups
Can anyone point me in the direction of photos of tampon and cup comparrissons?

I'm looking for photos of a tampon next to a folded menstrual cup, and expanded tampon next to a menstrual cup.

I had a link to a page that had photos which I used, although cups are bigger and firmer it was a good visual that seemed to comfort women who were concerned about menstrual cup size, but alas the site seems to have vanished.

If we have no such photos already on the community, or anywhere online, anyone fancy knocking up some photos? Maybe showing tampons in comparrison to cups using different folding methods, or different menstrual cups would be useful as a small size Ladycup after all is much smaller than a Divacup for example - I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Question about Diva Cup sizes
Hi, I am new to this community, but not new to menstrual cups.   I started with the Keeper until I lost it, then I replaced it with a Diva Cup model 1.  I took the recommendation of some people (might have been in this group) to poke holes around the rim to make it easier to remove.  I regret doing that because now I get staining inside those holes and I have to soak the cup in hydrogen peroxide after every period to remove the staining.

Anyways, the reason I am posting now is because I was wondering when to change sizes for the Diva Cup.  They say model 1 is for those 30 and under who have never given birth and model 2 is for those over 30 or who have given birth.  For those of you who have turned 30, did you change sizes or keep using model 1?  Did you notice model 1 starting to leak around that age?  This is assuming you have never given birth like me.

One more question:  Are there instructions online on how to make a replacement bag for my cup?

Help for a 1st time US cup buyer
Hi everyone! I've decided to buy my 1st cup. As I'm sure you all understand, it is sort of scary being a 1st time cup user/buyer! There are so many sizes, so many shapes! And of course, thing are even more difficult because I am in the US, so there are certain cups I can't get here at all, and others that have to be shipped internationally.

So, I am hoping for some advice, and probably some emotional support too! :) I'm 23, and have never had a child, which by most manufactures would put me in the small size range. However, I have read that length is often more important than anything else. As best I can tell, I can't reach my cervix (unless I'm doing something wrong, maybe I just can't find it?) Which would mean I can use one of the longer cups. I also don't tend to have flow that I would consider particularly heavy, but I really want a cup that I can wear overnight without worrying about over-flow.

Because I am in the US the only cups I can actually buy here are the Diva or the US Moon/Keeper. The Diva intimidates me, because it is the longest of all the cups and shape looks uncomfortable to me. I know lots of people don't like the US Moon/Keeper because they copied the name of the UK company (I admit, totally not cool). On ebay I can get a LadyCup... it seems like a good option. I like that people have said it is one of the more flexible cups, which seems like it would make it easier to fold and insert. The only thing with a LadyCup is that I would go with a large rather than small because of the length and capacity, but I'm worried because it is one of the widest cups! Does the greater width create a problem for anyone else, or is it not a problem because you can fold it up when putting it in?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give! I am very excited to have found this site, its been really helpful. Without all the info here I probably would have just rushed into buying a Diva because of lack of information!

Which size/Lunette Selene?
Hi!
I'm not sure this posting will work but I hope so. I'm not an English native speaker but I hope you'll be able to understand me.
I'm thinking of getting a menstrual cup, so far I've never seen one in real life. I've been reading a lot about it on the internet for the last few days. I'd probably get a Lunette Selene from what I've read so far (and I live in Europe so I wouldn't have the shipping problem like the women from the US).
My problem is that I still don't know what size to get, my cervix is rather low (I can reach it easily) and my flow is not very heavy (I change a regular tampon approximately every 5-6 hours even at the first two days). From this, I would get a small cup.
However, Lunette recommends the large cup for women over 20 (I'm 25) and I read somewhere that after a pregnancy you should always opt for the larger cup and it doesn't matter whether you've had the child or not because the hormons change your vagina. ( I don't know where I found it anymore). I've never had a child but I miscarried three years ago in the 10th week of pregnancy.
I think I'd prefer a smaller cup to start with, on the other hand, I wouldn't want to spend something like 60 euros if I had to get a large one because the small one doesn't fit.
I would appreciate any tips to help me with my decision! Thank you!

New!
I'm a 21 year old mother of 1 and I think I'm ready to try my hand at a cup.

I've been watching this community and have learned a lot. God bless the internet! :) I'm leaning towards a ladycup (but am totally open to suggestions) because it seems easy to clean and flexible . Anyway I had a couple questions.

Even though I've had a child things are still snug. I measured, as best as I could figured, and I've got 63mm of length. Would a Large Ladycup be too long at 53mm(and the stem, which I could trim, adding another 13mm)?

If I wanted to buy a LC, could I get it off ebay? I don't know where to get them in the US...and I don't know about the US brands..

Oh what the hell (Warning: TMI)

I just received my Diva Cup today. (Posted asking about iHerb last week)

I did a dry run and i had to get my fiance to take the damn thing out after i tried for 10 minutes. He even had a problem and i showed him on my Mooncup exactly what to do. I can't pinch the cup at all. I can't get 2 fingers around it. I can indent it with 1 finger but that doesn't release suction and there's no way i can reach the rim to release it.

I'm at a complete loss.

Either my vagina is extremely long or I'm too fat to reach the cup. I think i have too much flesh blocking the way, which is odd because this is the only time it's been a problem when it comes to my genitals.

Heres a link to the problem i was having with the Mooncup. (I added more info in the comments.) I'm thankful I'm able to reach it with a paper towel even though my bathroom might look like i killed someone by the time i get it out.

Has anyone had this problem?

It seems like most of you have to cut the stem to stop it from sticking out. I actually need a long stem or else i can't reach it at all. How can i not get 2 fingers around  the cup?  I am so pissed/fustrated/bummed out. I really wanna use a cup, they seem awesome. I don't want to have to remove it by laying down on a bed. These things are supposed to be used in public and i can't even insert one in a public bathroom.

Argh!

Which cup?
I have one hell of a period. It's inconsistent flow-wise and it's very frustrating. I have countless stories of bleeding through SUPER tampons AND a pads (yes, frequently used in conjunction), sometimes within an hour. Sometimes (though this is extremely infrequent and only seems to last for a day or only a few hours) I feel like I am drying out my vagina by using tampons, but I HATE pads. Earlier this week I started my period for the second time this month, which has never happened to me before and I'm just basically fed up with my entire period situation (I will also be going on a cruise in a few months and with a finicky period I want to make sure I'm well covered).
And tired of constantly worrying if I'm going to bleed all over something (car seats, chairs, clothes...)
So I've decided to get a cup. I've done a great deal of research over the internet the past few days, but I am certainly undecided as to which would be best for me. I need suggestions.
I'm 19 and have never had sex. I've also seen people complaining about the size not being suitable for their size. I'm about 5'7 (not especially tall or short) and a average to thin frame.

I've also read posts about menstrual cups lessening flow, is this possible? I'm also a twelve year vegetarian and have read something about possibly being anemic and that perhaps being the reason for my heavy flow. Though it's a bit off topic, does anyone know anything about that?

Thanks so much to everyone being in this forum, it's really helped me to realize I'm not the only one in this boat!
