Left my cup bag at school...
Hey all. So, I am flying across the country on monday, period is due on tuesday. I have my cup, luckily, but the bag for it is at school! so i'm wondering, would a clean sock work to put it in to travel? or are there other things people have used as bags on the fly (pun not intended)?

waterproof menstrual cup pouches
i'd like to buy a waterproof menstrual cup pouch for my sis. does anyone know of an online store or maker? i checked etsy but no one seems to make them waterproof.
thanks.
EDIT: i thought a waterproof pouch might be useful sometimes if she wants to rinse her cup quickly with water and store. it wouldn't matter if some water was left. however, i'll be sure to tell her not to use the waterproof pouch all the time.
thanks.

Knitted Uterus Cup Cozie
I recently got my first cup, a Lady Cup which I love allready eventhough I haven't gotten my period yet. But I saw a pattern on Ravelry for a crochet Uterus cup cozie and I really loved the idea but I can't crochet. So I started to work on a knitted version. I plan on putting a happy face on it in the future. ;)
Here it is:

For some reason I can't get the pic to show up in the post, any suggestions? I tried using the same method as I use on other forums but it didn't work.

Storage bag
I lost the unbleached cotton storage bag that came with my Mooncup. Is there any way to get another one without buying another mentrual cup? It doesn't need to have the Mooncup logo or anything- just anything with the same functionality would be great. I was given to believe that storing it in a plastic bag would be bad. So far, I've been storing it either on a cloth on my desk or in a cotton sock- but the residual detergent in the sock/dust in the air can't be good. Plus, neither method is terribly attractive.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

Ugh, I think my MIL tossed out the pouch that came with my Diva Cup. My partner and I had to move in with my in-laws because of money troubles. I had it in one of my plastic bags and it must have fallen out and she threw it away during one of her sporatic cleaning sprees, and the thing is if I ask her about it she'll have no clue what I'm talking about because when she gets in one of those modes if her brain thinks something is trash then she'll toss it, but not remember later what she tossed out, which makes asking if she threw something away pointless and everyone in the house just has to assume something they can't find anymore was tossed and move on, unless they have the fortune of finding it again later in some other place other than where they last thought they left it. Anywho, does anyone have any ideas on what I could put my cup in since I'm done using it for now, or if someone could make me a pouch and mail it to me then that'd be awesome. The only problem is I'm flat broke so I wouldn't be able to pay anyone if they were to offer to make another pouch for me. Any thoughts?

So I made myself a cup pouch...
Seems the knitted and crocheted cup pouches are all the rage, but I can't do either. Still, I don't like the pouch my orange LadyCup came in,and I don't like things that are frilly / girly.
So I made myself a not very girly pouch, with wooden beads that I brought back from Africa a century ago and never knew what to do with. The glass beads are from Turkey, the fabric has been covering my couch for years. So, this little pouch already comes with lots of memories... and it'll be a fun way to store and transport my cup!
Show us your pouch if you made one, please, even if you don't sell them and just made one for your own use.
( I'm no good at sewing, either, but I'm still happy with the result. )

Melted cups, anyone?
So, I've wanted to try a Lunette, and the post below just sealed the deal for me. I use a LadyCup now.
I was thinking that I might carry the cup that I like less in my car as a spare. My period starts slowly, so occasionally if I start in the morning I've forgotten to grab tampons. I imagine I'll eventually run into the same situation with my cup (though, since I can insert it the second I start spotting, and I almost always start spotting at night, it's much less likely).
So, will my cup melt if I leave it in my car? My car is dark blue with a black interior, and it's forking HOT here during the summer. I've melted CD cases in my car before, among other things, and I don't want to melt my cup. :P
I guess I could always carry my preferred cup in my purse and avoid the issue entirely (especially since I carry the world's biggest purse), but I'm not 100% comfortable with that idea yet. My current purse is HUGE, but it's also single pocket, so it'd be right there with everything I need every day, and I'm not sure I'm really ready to answer someone if they ask it is. Haha.

And now...presenting C(o)unt Dracula!
Janni here again, this time with a new cup pouch design that makes even more sense than Cthulhu! (Not more sense than the Flying Spaghetti Monster, though---because nothing makes more sense than Him and it would be foolhardy and blasphemous to say otherwise! ;))
No, this time...this time, we've got C(o)unt Dracula on offer. In both "vampire" and "bat" forms, even! If your cup is lonely and looking for a place to call home, come check it out! Oh, also, both are 100% vegan-friendly and suitable for those with fiber sensitivities! ;)

Pouches for Sale
I've started to crochet a few menstrual cup pouches. They are plain because I don't know fancy crochet stuff and I wanted to get rid of yarn. I have too much craft stuff and this is the perfect way to clean some of it out.

Storage of Cup
Where do you store your cup in between periods? Is it in your underwear drawer, under the bathroom sink?

bags for Insteads???
I keep seeing all these posts about awesomely cute menstrual cup pouches & bags (I think my fave, so far, has been the crocheted uterus bag), but they're all geared toward the reusable ones. Thing is, I reuse my Insteads & I'd love to have a pretty cool & snazzy* pouch to slip it into in between uses.
Anyone know of anyone making anything that might be appropriate?**
* Edited to clarify that I'm NOT a girly-girl, that the only things I think should be pink are sunsets & body parts (which, though permitted to be pink, do not have to be such a hue) & that I was really thinking more along the lines of "sleek" & "sexy", rather than "pretty".
** SPECIFIC examples, including links, are preferred! :D

Cthulhu menstrual cup holders
In case you've ever wanted an Elder God to guard your cup for your own personal monthly apocalypse, I'm now selling handknitted Cthulhu menstrual cup pouches over at Etsy.
It started out as a joke, but apparently a lot of people thought it was a really good idea, so who am I to argue? :)
[ETA: 3/8/09: Version Dark now available! :D]

My first post in here...
I got my cup last week. Luckily was on my time of the month to use it, so I was stoked! I bought the Diva Cup Model 2 from iHerb.com. I couldn't resist trying it so I washed it and my hands off. Used the info from this community and the directions...Deciding to use a C type fold, I folded it and tried to put it in. POPPPP! It popped outta my hands, lol. I dunno if it's just cuz it's brand new or something, it seems kinda hard for me to fold and keep folded down WHILE inserting it. That's the MAIN problem I've had with it. I got it in and it instantly opened up inside me cuz I could barely keep it folded together in the first place. I tried to do the spin in one full circle thing I've read about in here. That wasn't going to happen, I couldn't spin it at all. Felt too suctioned in or something.
If it feels like it's suctioned in (cuz it is a lil harder/tugging to get it out when need be)...Does that mean it's SEALED? I'm getting a tiny bit of spotting, like the stem is making lil dots on my pad or something? It was hardly even blood colored...Dunno what's up with that.
Other than that. I love it. I feel a lot nicer, cleaner, healthier, and don't have to change it alllll the friggin time. I love that too. Even though it's been kinda hard for me to get in, and having to wear panty liners. I STILL love it more than stupid tampons. Haha. No more feeling all dried out all the time. And yay for saving money!!

I previously had my crocheted cup pouches in my store with my earrings, which seemed a bit weird...so I just opened a new store for all of my crocheted creations - including cup pouches!

Just a quick question, but storing cups together, good/bad?
Usually when not in use my mooncup (uk) and lunette reside together out of their bags in a dry area (I keep them in the bathroom and use the bags only really for when I take them places) but I noticed today that my hubby has stacked them onto each other and they've been like that for a little while.
Is there any risk of silicone degredation? I know that you're advised to not store certain sex toys together because of that, so just curious.
