Melbourne Based Bloggers
Which Melbourne-based bloggers do you guys follow? I'm always looking for new reading material, and I especially like it when I can relate to what the blogger is writing about. I'd like especially:

1. Something not based in LiveJournal. An actual site, blogspot, Wordpress blog, etc. would be great, as I rarely follow my friends page feed here on LJ.
2. Someone who writes about: Melbourne events, art festivals, exhibitions, even just daily experiences with weird people on the Pakenham train line, etc.
3. Someone readable. You know what I mean - someone who writes without a stick up their arse, who doesn't feel the need to use supercilious words (haha irony) to make themselves sound more impressive.

Any suggestions?

This is the blog of my friend, though his fiance is about to launch her own, too (and there'll probably be a mention on Frilly Shirt), so that's two for the price of one!

yeah, its really sweet if you like a tongue in cheek attitude to victorianism (as in the era, not the state)

There's my shop blog too: Circa Vintage Clothing. I often post about art events, but not always in advance, sorry.

My blog's a constantly evolving organism - it started off as a silly blog to follow my mostly culinary adventures, then it somehow became an art blog, and it's going to be a "Melburian In Japan" starting next autumn... It's generally just random stuff.

I'm easily bored.

I rather like The Twilight Tales The girl lives in her own little world...it's like if the Spiderwick Chronicals lived in the Yarra Valley and had a blog...and was a girl. I like to read it at work when reality is boring me to tears!

True local bloggers

Guys,

Most of the people you suggest are really NOT local in most senses (they mainly talk about themselves). So I'd suggest

Fitzroyalty: easily the best local blogger in Australia
http://indolentdandy.net/fitzroyalty/

Republic of Moreland: quite good about northern Melbourne
http://republicmoreland.wordpress.com/

The Melbourne Metblog: (another metroblog) but generally okay
http://melbourne.metblogs.com

But if you want a one stop shop I suggest Melbourne startup LocalHero. Its they iron out the bugs it will rock!!!

Firstly thanks for the references to Fitzroyalty! I'm working hard to make it a valuable local resource: http://indolentdandy.net/fitzroyalty/

My own faves are:

Republic of Moreland - http://republicmoreland.wordpress.com/
St Kilda Today - http://stkildatoday.blogspot.com/
Melbourne Metblogs - http://melbourne.metblogs.com
LocalHero (aggregator) - http://localhero.biz
Where's the Beef? - http://herestheveg.blogspot.com/
