Hello Melbournemaniacs,

Just a quick question - does anybody here make podcasts, as part of your blog or as a separate matter? Which podcast provider do you use?

I am at the very beginning of my podcast quest, so I thought maybe someone knows more than I do. Google gives plenty of options (podcast.com, podcastalley.com), but I want some word-of-mouth please.

Cheers.

I've been recording and publishing a podcast for almost a year now - it's pretty easy once you know what you're doing :)

All you need is somewhere to upload them and a blog with support for podcasting. If you already run a Wordpress blog, you're most of the way there. In Wordpress you can create media-only RSS feeds, which becomes your podcast feed (seperate to the main RSS feed of your blog). If you run the feed through Feedburner, you can get stats on the podcast (listeners, where they are, what time of day they download, etc)

Thank you for your response.

I have a Wordpress blog, what I want to do is to have some of my posts voiced-over. I don't think I am prepared to have a regular RSS feed of podcasts only. (Does it make sense?)

Essentially, is it just like giving a web-link to a media-file, like a song? Like, dear friends, this is where to download it from, enjoy?

Is it how it works?
