sons_of_gondor, this community is devoted to the descendents of Eorl -- in other words, the Rohirrim of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. We seek fanfic, fanart, chatlogs, graphics, icons, links, questions, discussions, linguistics, articles, recs, and other such amusements on the following topics:- Canon Rohirrim: Not just the movie crew (ie. Theoden, Eomer, Eowyn, Theodred, Grima, Hama, & Gamling) but more obscure book characters (ie. Erkenbrand, Elfwine, Elboron), any ancestors leading right back to Eorl himself, and any steeds thereof.
- Non-Canon Rohirrim: This includes movie-only cameos like Eothain and Haleth. Original characters are allowed as long as they're from Rohan and/or have close ties to canon Rohirric characters. Mary Sues, however, may be heckled mercilessly. ;)
- The Actors (And Actress): Yes, we accept real-people fic! To be posted here, your submission MUST include one of the following: Brad Dourif, Bernard Hill, Bruce Hopkins, John Leigh, Miranda Otto, Paris Howe Strewe, or Karl Urban. Tales involving their work on other films are also allowed.
Rules:
This community is open to FPS and RPS. That means same-gender pairings involving characters OR actors. (Though of course we also encourage gen and het, for some reason those genres don't cause so much squalling. ;) If you cannot cope, do not join. Flamers will be banned with great relish.
Use LJ-Cuts. ALL stories and artwork (barring G-rated icons) must be placed behind cuts with all necessary headers, disclaimers, and/or warnings. If you don't know how to create an LJ-Cut, go here.
Do not steal artwork. All art, be it fan or pro, MUST be credited with a link to the artist's website. If the art is not hosted on your own server, provide a link TO the artwork -- do NOT display the image in your post! This is bandwidth theft. We also do not tolerate stolen fanart in icons -- gain permission and give credit where necessary.
Stay on-topic. Every post here must have something to do directly with one of the above characters, actors, or topics. Off-topic posts -- including quizzes (unless the entire quiz is specific to our topic) and general LOTR announcements will be deleted. Repeat offenders and trolls will be banned.
