Five, er, Six Reports Nathan Stark Wishes Never Crossed His Desk - by Missy Merlin. Technically, this is a Yuletide '06 story, but I was trolling through the Eureka section and just...fell in love. There are crazy, Eureka-style crackfic crossovers, there are equally crazy incidents that seem so perfect it's a wonder the show hasn't done them.

The kid from the Narrows by unknown. gen. Remember that kid from Batman Begins? The one to whom Batman threw his grapple (I think)? Well, this is a story that expands on that moment of connection and then some.

Reign of Fire:

Beast by unknown. Quinn's thoughts on dragons. A harsh, unrelenting POV piece that I'm madly in love with .

Veritas: The Quest:

Focus by Unknown. Nikko. Gen. Nikko takes steps toward understanding of the world around him, his place in it, and an understanding of himself and the power he's learning to control.

Cutting the Line Nikko and Vincent fall down a well. There is snark, humor, and steal your heart touching moments.

Transformers:
The Strut and Trade of Charms by unknown. Mikaela rocks the 'bot bonding. Because, really, if you're the Autobots, who else are you going to trust with your innards! (Seriously, this story just absolutely nails the AWESOME that is Mikaela. I love it soooo much)

Sparks of Life by unknown. Gen. The Autobots and Sam honor Jazz (*Sniffle*) and discuss the meaning of life. This fic is both wonderfully funny (I'm with Sam. The Autobots are NEVER allowed on the Internet again) and break your heart touching. Just...yeah this is the kind of moment Jazz deserved.

Crossovers:

Blood Ties/Forever Knight:
Obsidian by unknown. God I love this story. It's a hysterical crossover between the two universes and just a BLAST from beginning to end. It's possibly one of my favorite fics from this year's Yuletide. I will say this fic looses points with me for one technical point that a beta should have caught. (It references 'American football', but, um, both FK and BT are set in Toronto. Canadians play football too. Y'know, there's that whole Grey Cup thing we have every year.) But that's easily overlooked in the sheer awesomeness of this story.

Hanging Out, BFF by unknown. Mac and PC hang out. I swear this is just like a commercial. SO CUTE. And man, poor PC.

The Bourne Movies:

Paris by uhmidont Bourne/Nicky. Spoilers for the Bourne Ultimatum I have fallen head over heels for the Bourne movies - mostly because of the portrayal of Jason by Matt Damon. Nicky has always been a favorite of mine as well. So stories featuring them are bound to get my attention ANYWAY, but this one had to go and be awesome on top of it. It is spoilery for the most recent Bourne flick as I said, so keep that in mind!

Crossovers:

Just Like Longing by voleuse. Farscape/SG1. For the likes/dislike meme. Things that Teal'c likes/dislikes about Chiana. Gorgeous sparse writing. I adore how voleuse does this.

I make the glare for the lightbulbs by voleuse Doctor Who/SG1. voleuse wrote this for me for multiverse5000 and I might have spazzed out and squealed girlishly when I read this. I have always, always, always loved the idea of Daniel meeting the Doctor pre-SG1 and so I threw the request out for Multiverse. The fic voleuse gave me? WAYYYYY beyond anything I could have hoped for.

Ashes To Ashes by kellifer_fic SG1/Reign of Fire. Cameron/Sam/Daniel. For those who have not seen the movie "Reign of Fire" (and omg, Christian Bale scruffy, shirtless, and did I mention the shirtless?), the premise is that dragons are real and have been in a hibernation phase for the last few thousand years, waiting for humanity and the world to build up to a sufficient state for feeding. Yes. feeding. It's all wonderfully apocalyptic and a bunch of people die and the dragons take over and *YES* this is Kel's suggestion of what might have happened to SG1 and the SGC during those times. It is gorgeous gorgeous fic.

SGA:

Strength and honor are her clothing by kajikia. Gen. This is an all girl mission and it is made of *AWESOME*. Women are being forced into slavery (think the Handmaid's tale) and some of Atlantis's officers are taken. A mission is launched to get them back and there is no way to describe how made of *AWESOME* this story is. SERIOUSLY. Laura Cadman rules the UNIVERSE.

Nightmares and Dreamscapes by lone_pyramid. Sheppard/Weir. Post ep for "The Real World" Elizabeth is having trouble sleeping, John wants to help. That's the basics of this fic, but it is so much more. So much more than that and it is really one of my favorite S/W fics that I've read in a VERY long time.

SG1:

Make Crosses From Your Lovers by synecdochic. Jack/Vala. This is part of an AU verse that I have not read, but this was so awesome and easy to fall into that it did not matter for me. But keep that in mind. synecdochic uses language in such a gorgeous, GORGEOUS way that it literally takes the breath (and turns me green with envy *G*) I want to write like that when I grow up and invent a Sylar-like machine for stealing talent.

Supernatural:

New Words for Old Desires by mcee. Jo/Dean. AU. Basically this swaps things. What if Jo and Ellen were the ones out hunting and the Winchester men (John included. BWEE) were the ones running the Roadhouse. I adore Jo at the worst of times, this is one of the best and the universe is so incredibly well laid out that all I wanna do is run around and squeal "Awesome!" to everyone.

DCU:

When the little bluebell starts to ring by derryderrydown. JLU fic. Batman/Flash. It's sex pollen fic. Flash has a plant. Flash brings the plant to the Watchtower. The plant makes sex pollen. Flash is more sex obessed than usual. Hilarity and porn ensues. this fic STILL slays me.

Doctor Who:

Terms of Art by loneraven. It's the Doctor, and Martha, and just amazing to read. It's spoilery for Human Nature/Family of Blood and it's just a lovely, lovely read. The pacing is perfect, the characterizations are amazing, and I have just a mad love of a lot of loneraven's work but this one just grabbed me. Hell, I haven't even seen the episodes yet and I'm entranced.

Streams by lizbee. Romana/Martha. You knew I was going to love that but this one's just...awesome. The mixed up messiness of time travel (particularly the kind of time travel what involves Time Lords, especially *THAT* Time Lord) and the whole thing is just perfect. And I think lizbee wins the internets for that ending. *G*

Pinball Wizard by girlintheattic. It's got shades of Doctor/Martha and is just wonderfully manic, following a path only Ten can really go and you can almost *HEAR* David Tennant's voice narrating to you as you read. Just..yeah, this is the Doctor and where he is in his mind right now and oh, Ten you really are just that screwed up aren't you?

Reparations by dvlinareddress. Romana/The Master. Just...Romana as Lucy and this? This is a screwed up, Nine-ish Romana. It is just evil!fic and Ooooh...

Stargate: Atlantis:

Infatuated by aphelant. Lorne/Teyla. I haven't seen much of Lorne's painting talents yet. But I have such an artist kink and this fic? Oh god if I can ever write Lorne/Teyla this well I will be officially made of win. Reading it was like sliding into a warm bath and just deliciously yummy.

Cross-Pollination by scribblinlenore. John/Rodney, Elizabeth/Ronon/Teyla. Sex Pollen for the WIN! Seriously, why is there not more sex pollen fic to amuse me? This one's just...*SQUEAL* Sex Pollen fic of the best kind!

The Forgotten by queenzulu. Teyla/Sora. I had the pleasure of remixing this one for the gateverse remix this year and it is just absolutely an amazing fic. I wasn't sure exactly how to remix it at first because the story was just beautiful and there is NOT enough Teyla/Sora out there (I also highly recommend queenzulu's other Teyla/Sora fics) and this one? Did I mention it being beautiful?
Stargate: SG1:

Your Horoscope For Today by amatia. Sam/Carolyn. CopVerse AU! Sam hunts a murderer as she investigates her father's last case, Carolyn is the ME. It is AWESOME fic.

Harry Potter:
Taking The Lead by bucolia_buck Bill/Hermione. Post War. AU. I have much love of this fic. It's just got everything I like and then some. A great, post-War Hermione and Bill with their scars, their ghosts, and the monumental history that's their past. Awesome. And longfic! to boot.

Chronicles by minisinoo. Harry/Cedric UST, implied, past history. This is part 2 in a series of novellas that explores the idea of Cedric surviving after Harry uses the time turner to warn him about Voldemort. The choice isn't without it's consequences and they're left to find their way and in the middle of it all there's Cedric trying to deal with being gay in a world that's even less accepting of it than it's Muggle counterpart. I spent this weekend reading this instead of Deathly Hallows and you know? I really didn't miss DH. And not because I don't want to read it. But because this fic is THAT good.

Heroes:

Five Times Nathan Petrelli Crashed Down To Earth by yahtzee63. Gen fic. I have been a fan of Yahtzee's writing for ages now, going back to her Alias days (Yay!Bad!Wrong!) and the day she fell into Heroes was a happy, happy day for me. The day Nathan Petrelli staged a full on coup of her brain was an even better one. And this? This fic is why.

Pirates Of The Caribbean:

a far better fate by dollsome. Elizabeth/Norrington. Character Death. Different ways Norrington and Elizabeth might have ended up together. I love this one for all that might have been and god, Norrington.

DCU:

Fall by salmon_pink. Batgirl/Catwoman. Toonverse. YAY! Sex pollen fic. Written for alien_altars Selina and Barbara together is scorchingly hot and setting it in the toonverse takes it to a whole other level of awesome.

Crossovers:

A Ring in the Black Sea by basingstoke. Torchwood/Atlantis. Teyla/Jack. Oh god this fic is a perfect blend of both and hits a few of my kinks about the universe of Atlantis, providing an incredible backstory for Teyla, for the Pegasus galaxy, and even for Jack himself. It was just AMAZING to read.

Over The Rainbow and So Far From Home by whimsicalwhims. Stargate: SG1/Stargate: Atlantis This is actually a remix of my How We Spent Our Summer Vacation (which was Cam/John and Cadman/McKay) and whimsicalwhims tackles Cam's perspective of the entire thing with just an absolutely amazing hand. I LOVE this story so hard it's not even funny, I mean, she even picked up on subtext between Lorne and an OFC that I hadn't even noticed I'd seeded into the fic. Which has me considering the potential from there! It's everything I could have hoped for in a remix and then some!

Like love we seldom keep by vaznetti. X-Files/Supernatural. John/Marita, Marita/Krycek, John/Krycek/Marita (of sorts). Alex haunts Marita, Marita lives life on the run, John keeps running into them both. It's just the kind of crossover you never quite expect but one that vaznetti makes work beautifully. And anytime you get to read a story where she writes John Winchester, it is a massive and awesome TREAT.

Staff Envy by jen_in_japan. Batman/Babylon 5. Batman and Marcus Cole? Sparring? In the same fic? With a title like that? A fic what involves nudity and, Marcus being a 'flexible' virgin? *brain explodes* GOD I love when this woman writes *G*

Somebody mocked up a live action trailer for a Justice League movie and it is awesome. Of the represented league members.

It is amazing.

I saw, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash...the usual suspects. We've got Batman Begins-era Batman, Superman Returns-era Superman. As for Flash, GL, and Diana, it's a little tricksier. Flash = Ryan Reynolds, GL = Jim Caviezel (so I'm guessing Kyle Rayner and not John Stewart) and I'm not sure about Diana.

Naturally, my only quibble is *WOE* no Supergirl or GA but, DUDE. The video is freaking awesome.

I am giddy over this one. GIDDY.

Hot Pursuit by gryphonrhi. Due South/Highlander. Matthew McCormick is visiting Chicago and comes across, of all things, Benton Fraser chasing his wolf, Diefenbaker, who is chasing a suspect. There is no proper way to accurately describe with any language the sheer glee of this story. Matthew is wonderfully Matthew, Benton and Dief are *ON*. Rhi writes Ben with the touch he needs and seen through Matthew's eyes it's all just fantastic!

Not In My Bar by gryphonrhi. Highlander/The A-Team. I, er, inadvertantly inspired this one with my cracktastic brainstorming but no *WAY* could I have anticipated how fantastic it would come out and how freakin' HYSTERICAL it would be. Oh Joe.

Pryde & Dresden. Computer Technician Blues by lyssie. Dresden/X-Men. Kitty comes to fix Harry's computer. OMG. *sprofles*. This is just...HEEEEE.


JLU:

The Wally 'Verse by victoria_wayne. Bruce/Wally. If you had told me before I read this that I was going to read a story that not only was Batman/Flash but make me believe the idea of Batman/Flash? I would've laughed at you. I mean, I've seen some short, porny things that were awesome but a long, plotty piece of work? Not possible. Except then I read this and damned if this one didn't convince me it was possible.

Pretender:

Strangest Quiet in the Street by bantha_fodder. Parker/Jarod. OMG. OMG. OMG. Anytime Pen writes Jarod/Parker, I feel like throwing a party because OMG. This one? OMG. It's difficult to explain how much I love her Parker and her Jarod. There's an edge on Parker that I can *SEE* Andrea Parker playing in my head and it's just heartbreakingly gorgeous. This is the Parker/Jarod we all fell in love with and, yes.

Teen Titans:

Horn and Ivory by penknife . I am a huge fan of penknife's writing anyway because it's so amazing to read but I stopped on this one out of curiosity. I've only seen the Teen Titan cartoon and not read the comics but this story still entranced me in so many ways. Raven is just a fascinating character and to see her here, yearning for the things her teammates have, it's just beautiful.

Firefly:

Big Damn Dinosaurs by carmathen. I just...*DIES* OMG, just go read it. Do not drink anything while you are reading however, are we clear? Good now go read *G*

Superman Returns:

Music of the Spheres Interlude: Being Safe by jen_in_japan. Gen but the series is Bruce/Clark. I adore the Music of the Spheres series period. If I didn't already have Batman/Superman inclinations in my head, reading that series would've lured me over quite handily. This is an interlude between the big stories of the series but this one? this one broke me a little. It's Clark spending time with Jason and oh Clark. The story highlights the dilemma/quandry that Clark is in when it comes to Jason. It does deal with some of the events of the preceeding stories but it's worth reading on its own. Just, oh Clark.

Veronica Mars

Curiosity by paranoidkitten Mac/Veronica. I'm not usually a big fan of first person stories but this one is just gorgeous. Written for femslash06 it's just amazingly well written and I'd never even really thought of Mac/Veronica before (I know, I don't know why either) but this one? Reading it made me go "Hmm yes!"

The Young & The Restless:

Yes, you read that right. I like it and I like actors ON it so pfft!

Intervention by monimala (Kevin/Colleen) I am such a fan of the actor who portrays Kevin (Greg Rikaart)I think him one of the most talented actors I've seen in a while. Therefore, I'm a big fan of the character he portrays and a few days ago, monimala offered up a little ficlet with him. I pounced of course. I mean, soap fic? Eee. Kevin fic? bigger EEE! We got to talking, she mentioned having the idea for this story and when she posted this? I made with the SQUEE. This is Kevin, this is so wonderfully Kevin and this is how I wish the show would take this because *SERIOUSLY*.

DCU: Outsiders

Boxers or Panties? by miarrow (Roy/girl!Dick) See, I don't read a lot of comics but I do know Dick Grayson, Roy I know in a very vague sort of way, but Dick...yeah. So I read this out of curiosity and I LOVE genderswaps whether they're "Always been this other gender" or "woke up the other gender" and this one? is so much *FUN*. I mean, seriously, how can you not love a fic where Roy gets girl!Dick to dress up in the old Robin costume for fun? *winkwink*

Star Trek: DS9
Couples Therapy by mylittleredgirl Ezri/Julian. OMG. This fic for the WIN. It examines Ezri post Dominion War, it examines Ezri/Julian Post Dominion War and it has Dax asking all the questions that she needs to ask right now about herself, about Julian, about all of it. And Oh YES. this is all the stuff the show brushed over and didn't really consider plus all the stuff they did and it is AWESOME.

Star Trek: TNG:
Return Flight by mylittleredgirl *Squeeble* Wesley fic. Post Dominion War Wesley fic. I am a huge fan of Post-DW storylines. They are of the WIN and *SNUGGLES to mylittleredgirl* because this one? Oh god Wes deserves good fic and this is EXACTLY that.

Pretender:

With the Lights Left On by bantha_fodder Jarod/Parker. Okay, Pen could write like, her plan to clean out the refrigerator this weekend and I would read it like it is gospel. She's that good. But when she goes after the Pretender and crawls into Parker's head it is a special brand of AWESOME. And this? is part of her multifandom Chinese New Year series (of which I have read all even the fandoms I don't KNOW and they are all for the WIN so you need to go back and read them too) and...Damn but the way bantha_fodder writes these two makes me wanna go Sylar and steal her power for my very own! *G*

X-Men:

Ami, Pas Amoureux by marag Northstar/Bobby (Unrequited) oh Jean-Paul. I have not read the Alpha Flight comics. I probably never will. Some of the info I have read on the comics on Wiki induced incoherent sputters of rage from me so reading is out. But that's okay, I have Mara & company to give me Northstar fic and *GLEES* this is gorgeous. I mean, Oh Jean-Paul. My heart just breaks for him here.

Crossover:

Postcards: March 5 by jenab Supernatural/Poltergeist The Legacy (Nick/Girl!Dean) Nick Boyle and Dean Winchester are the same side of the same coin. Dean is so eeerily Nick that I think Kripke must be hiding PTL episodes under his bed. Here, we have a girl!Dean and a GREAT little moment that highlights a lot of the characterization similiarities *AND* some silly sexy fun which both characters enjoy!

Supernatural:

Soonest Mended by amchara. A post-ep of sorts for "Born Under a Bad Sign" and it gives us how I wish Supernatural would handle the aftermath between Jo and Sam (but let's face it, that ain't happenin') and after reading this? I don't really need the show to. As far as I'm concerned this is it right here. *nod*

Man's Best Friend by sarah_p gen. *DIES LAUGHING* OMG. Dean...Livejournal. S'all I'm sayin' *G*

From This Voyage by joyfulgirl41 Sam/Sarah. *flails* omg porn! Seriously though, this is hot and it has GREAT Sam and Sarah characterizations. Not to be missed.

When The Mirror Is Empty by apocalypsos. post-ep for "Nightshifter". Oh I love this. It's a post-ep I don't think a lot of people would think to do and yet it's exactly what I needed to read. How do you deal with a dead twin sister when you know you don't have a twin?

Overature by mylittleredgirl Talia fic. Oh Talia you poor girl. I love this story so much it's pre-series with Talia on Mars and oh god, so naive the poor kid.

Smallville:

Reparation by mylittleredgirl Jake/Diane friendship/ust. OMG. Jake 2.0 fic. It has been YEARS since I read and now? It is here and *FLAILS* and she...*handwave* I love this fic and you will all read it, get pimped into Jake 2.0 and write me MOOOORE? Yes?

Postcards From The Edge Of The World by havocthecat BTVS/Supernatural. Tara/Jo (femslash) and a GREAT AU fic. Jo and Tara having grown up around each other and being a part of each others lives right up through and is worth reading if only for Ellen's opinion of Sunnydale. *G* (Yes the fic is awesome too but that sent me into fits of laughter)

The Girl Who Says Remember by musesfool Friday Night Lights/Firefly. Mal/Tyra. I have never seen a single episode of Friday Night Lights, I don't intend to, but this fic rules the 'verse. I'm sure everyone's read already anyway (come on, it's musesfool *G*) but I'm reccing anyway. Mal meets up with a girl from his past and...well, sometimes you need to see yourself again. Just to remember where you've been even if you don't want to know where you're going.

I Am Whatever You Say I Am by lunarknightz Heroes/Smallville. *incoherent* Oh yes I cannot say much about this one lest I ruin the fun but let me say this. I squeaked with ZOMG-like glee when I read it.

BTVS:

Joe's Bar & Kill by vagablonde we did another OC share back in February of '06 and vagablonde took my original character slayer Cate Russell and did an *AWESOME* little drabblefic about her. It is vintage Cate and a great look at what it's like to be a Slayer. Even if it hadn't been written with my character, I would have *LOVED* this

Doctor Who:

Two by astrogirl2. Romana/Doctor (9). Romana lives and, well, she's got a rather nifty little idea and *YES* perfect voices, a wonderfully cracktastic scenario - what's not to love?

Then Sleep The Season by cherryice written for the romanathon it's Romana as the last Time Lord and Mickey as her companion and *wince* oh this one kinda breaks me a little in the hearty place. It's just...oh Romana

Stargate SG1:
Bad Timing by theemdash Jack/Daniel through the years. Oh it is them, it is slightly painful, it is *SO* very beautiful...it is something you need to be reading.

Stargate: Atlantis:

One To Let Go by smittywing. Weir/Sumner. I read this fic because, deep down, I wish Robert Patrick were still on SGA instead of the Unit and getting any Sumner fic is a good thing but one this good with a great Elizabeth/Sumner relationship? Oooooh it is good like a good thing I tell you.

To Urt or Not to Urt by miss_porcupine another Sumner/Weir of sorts. Inspired, ironically enough, by the writer of the other Sumner/Weir I just recced. This one is more unrequited but...*happy sigh*

Order In Chaos by settiai Teyla fic! *GOOD* Teyla fic. This is rare and it's from settiai who *rocks* massively and Teyla dealing with her boys? (aka Ford, Sheppard, and McKay) It is a thing of beauty but...yeah, a great Teyla characterization and an equally great story.

Smallville:

I'm Not Shining Tonight by sadiekate Chloe/Lex. OH...seriously, Ohhhh. There are fics that come along and you get completely caught up in them and you can't think, can't do anything else, you just sit there and read and get so lost in the story it's hard to remember it's not a real place with real people. This? One of those stories. I read it and just got lost. Chlex is one of my favorite pairings in SV and this? One of the best examples of it.

Pretender:

Push The Bruise by zeplum Parker/Jarod. AGAINST A WALL. *incoherent glee* Parker/Jarod is it's own special brand of hot. Those two redefined sexual tension and oh man but this fic is...*Happy sigh* the wallsmut challenge? Best idea ever.

Crossover:
Not In Kansas Anymore by femmenerd Supernatural/BTVS. Dean/Faith. Yeah, the reason for this to be recced is fairly simple. It's Faith/Dean, it's SMOKING.

Close Your Eyes and Think of England by monimala Casino Royale/Veronica Mars. Daniel Craig's Bond meets Veronica Mars. This shouldn't work, it shouldn't be hot but...oh it *SO* does. it's deliciously perfect, Veronica is touch perfect and so is Bond. A man on Mars indeed.

Akin to Science by marag Harry Potter/Torchwood. Hermione Granger meet Jack Harkness and, oh yes, Jack? For a guy who believes in faeries, you got a hell of a lot of catch up to do. Lucky for Jack, Hermione's used to such. SO much love for this story and the sequel Magic Words Shall Hold Thee Fast

untitled snippet, Ghosts, and Undercover by jenab. Jena wrote girl!Will/Jack Bristow for me and it is wonderful. This is a whole series of these little snippets (and there are more I do believe) and one I always come back to and re-read because eee! I have much love of the Will/Jack pairing anyway but for attemping (And completely kicking so much ass at *G*) a genderbender AU Will/Jack...*happy sigh* I am so a fangirl of her work.

Smallville:

girls you grow into by khohen1. It's Chlark and...I re-read this before I recced it and tried to you know, remember why I love this fic so much and I swear my brain short circuited out about halfway through because yes. If you want to know why my first love in Smallville is Clark/Chloe, read this story and you will *GET* it. It's like a ship_manifesto essay hidden inside a story and the voices here are so damn perfect it's impossible to properly explain it. Chloe is Chloe, her mannerisms, her voice, I can *SEE* Allison Mack playing this scene and same goes for Clark. He's so desperate, and so...BDA. Bless him but he is an idiot and he can't explain things and yet it's all there and...

I *love* the Sam/Cameron pairing so beyond the telling because it's so comfortable and fun and...hell, even in an AU where Sam'll jump anything with a penis, it's HILARIOUSLY perfect.

Sometimes, You Can Go Back Again by angelsgracie While yes, I do enjoy the Jack/Daniel, I have many 'ships and I adore Jack/Sara and, woe, I rarely see it written. Lucky for me angelsgracie has written it once and...*happy sigh* I ADORE this story. Jack...Sara, Daniel trying to...well he has to deal with Jack all the time and it's *JACK* and explaining those two? I could explain middle east politics easier. But yes, read this story, feedback this story perhaps beg her for MORE?

And yes...that goes for all of them btw. Feedback! Don't care if it's ten year old fic or a thousand comments on the entry, feedback!

Smallville:

Stop, Drop, and Roll by aj it's Chlark and..well, you didn't miss the part where Clark Kent is a ginormous dork right? Because, yeah, he kinda is and Chloe loves him anyway.

Our Girl In Gotham by zeplum. This fic reduces me to squealy bits that used to look like a person. It's Chloe/Dick and I have loved that since lexcorp_hope wrote her Bludhaven script thing and this has nothing to do with that and I love it anyway. It is just...Oh seriously go read it for yourself. it is AU to both Batman and Smallville and LOVE.

Metropolis Holiday by kdsch123. Chloe/Ollie, Lois/Clark, Lex/Lana and a ton of other pairings. This fic I actually started reading because I was desperate for Chloe/Ollie but somewhere along the line I fell in fascination with this re-imagining of how the DC verse might unfold and I swear I can't say more than that because it will ruin the fun. Hell, I'm already leaving out a pairing that would spoil you massively.

Snow and Mistletoe by dragonsinger. Amy is one of my very favorite secrets on livejournal or, at least I like to pretend she is because, well I don't like to share. She wrote Jo/Dean here and it is angsty reunion fic at Christmas and, I normally don't really have much love for Christmas fic but this is Amy!ChristmasFic and it's Dean/Jo and that? THAT alone is worth the read. But also, did I mention the part where me sharing is a huge deal, yes?

Stargate:

Four times Vala had to Fend for Herself and One Time She Didn't by 6beforelunch. She's written a lot of AWESOME fic this week (Seriously go look for yourself) but there is not enough good Vala fic in the world and therefore you must read this one and beg her to write MORE. Because, yes, peeks at Vala's life before SG1? They are hard to come by and this one is fantastic


Law and Order: Criminal Intent

Placid by dabombcreations. Deakins/Eames and it is exactly as the title suggests. Reading this is like slipping into a warm bath and oh how I love it and I'd never even considered this pairing before.

X:Men - Movieverse

The Ride by dragonsinger we did an OC share challenge on the occhallenge comm ages ago and Amy surprised me with an X-Men fic with one of my original characters that I'd offered up. She did, honestly, a better job writing this character than I EVER could have, using him to demonstrate the effect that John's betrayal had on the teachers at Xavier's school. I have *SO MUCH LOVE* for this fic and reading it? You will get why she is one of my very favorite secrets and why I don't like sharing her *G*

Crossovers:

Schism by havocthecat. SGA/B5 with overtones of Elizabeth/Teyla. This is actually more of a B5 meets SGA AU and I love it. It's a a perfect look at what it would look like if the Psi Corps existed in the Atlantis universe and there were representatives of the Corps on the expedition. Any fic that features Bester as a bad guy? I am so there. That man still freaks me the heck out.

Stargate: Atlantis:

You're Not The Girl You Think You Are by saeva OMFG. SERIOUSLY. There is not enough good Teyla fic in this fandom. SERIOUSLY not enough (of course if good Teyla fic got half the response it deserved we would not have this problem *pimps to feedback*) and there is this. I admittedly missed this when it was first posted and only saw it when saeva mentioned it in her yearly round up. I am so glad I read it. It is not only excellent Teyla it is a dizzingly good story with the plot and the other characterizations. Even if you don't particularly like Teyla I'd read this one for the story itself. But the Teyla? Oh god the Teyla. It is a must read for Teyla fans.

The Theory of Acquired Characters by toomuchplor this is McShep for undermistletoe and it is an AU based loosely on the movie Never Been Kissed. I read part of this on my cellphone while waiting in a hospital parking lot while I waited for a relative and then my cellphone's browser glitched and wouldn't let me go on to read the rest of it and I about died until later that day when it worked again and I got to read Sheppard/McKay while shopping for Christmas gifts. I highly recommend this method for avoiding any real stress with Christmas shopping. I have never seen the movie so you need not to in order for this thing to make sense. It is hilarious, the Rodney characterization had me in stitches, Sheppard's many t-shirt cliches HEH, and Ronon's appearance? Comedy gold man.

Fatal Pride by havocthecat *GLEES* Sheppard/Weir and Sheppard/Weir/Heightmeyer and i got to watch this one being written (shared to me over IM) and it is just...John and Elizabeth stumble into an alternate universe and naturally, like Mirror!Mirror! It is EVOL SGA and...oh god, it's too much fun for me to spoil you with details. Go read, and remember? If they're wearing leather? They are evil!

Supernatural:

Intaglio by celli Man, oh man, I'd read Celli's interpretation of the phone book if she minded to write it. Seriously. I love how this woman does dialogue but this one? I have never been so glad someone misread instructions in my LIFE than I was when I came across this fic. It was supposed to be a Wincest only week for the undermistletoe challenge but thankfully? Celli did not realize until too late and thus this story was born and it is WONDERFUL. It is AU, it is Sam/Sarah and it turns the Supernatural concept on its ear and yet doesn't turn it at all. I loves it I does.

DCVerse:

The Maddest Trick A Man Can Ever Play"> by marag it is Bruce, it is Clark, it is Batman and Superman and it is New Years. Bruce? Does not want to play. He wants to be Batman. Brood in the New Year. But this is Clark and Clark wants to play. Superman wants to play. And, well, contrary to popular belief? Superman plays dirty (not in the literal sense in this fic alas, but heh. Offscreen? You know he does.) I have SO MUCh love for this. It hits my Clark/Bruce kinks in all the right spots and *HAPPY SHIVER*

Crossover:

Friction by crimsonquills CSI:NY and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Mike Logan/Don Flack to be precise and OMG can this be canon? I mean, Mike Logan is the original manwhore (and I can buy the bi manwhore part *G*) and this? Him with Flack is just...*happy shiver* I mean, it is...I am picky about my boyslash. I really am. It has to hit me somewhere in between happyshiver and making me blink with the "Oh god that *WORKS*" and this one?

Yeah, it kinda sucker punched me right there and I swear I want this to be like canon in my own personal universe because damn.

Crossovers:

Five Couples Jack Harkness Never Slept With (Torchwood/NCIS/Stargate/Highlander/Stargate: Atlantis/The Sentinel) by azarsuerte. J wrote this for me for this Christmas and it is, by far, one of my favorite Christmas gifts. Partly because she chose to set the Sentinel ficlet in an alternate universe of mine but also because EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. She managed to sneakily pump me for information on how I saw these crossovers going down and let me tell you, it is not easy to trick me. But she managed it with this and I am so incredibly bemused by this. But also the story? it rules.

Cherry Bomb by zeplum. (Supernatural/Smallville) I think this is the first Dean/Chloe that I ever read and probably the reason I adore the pairing so very much. It's Dean-pov and it's wickedly delicious. Dean lies, Chloe lies, Dean flirts, Chloe laughs her ass off...aside from the sheer fantastic of the pairing anyway? This one made me fall for the pairing single-handedly.

Forked Hazel Twig by voleuse (Smallville/CSI/SGA/Alias/X-Men) there was a crossover ficathon once upon a time and whoever was writing for me was unable to fulfill the request for whatever reason. voleuse picked up the ball and ran with it and what she produced was positively masterful. It's a wickedly seamless crossover that has Chloe moving from fandom to fandom to fandom and it's done in a wink-wink-nudge-nudge style that makes you feel like you're eating a lot of chocolate and yet will suffer no consequences for it. It is fantastically written and just *incredible*

Undercover (Smallville/Supernatural) another Chloe/Dean that I adore. Oh my god this one is so fantastic with the sneaky that it isn't even funny except for the fact where it is. The idea of Dean Winchester masquerading as Jimmy Olsen and being...*flail* *hearts*

Music of the Spheres by jen_in_japan. (Batman Begins/Superman Returns) this is batman/superman at it's finest and this AU is addictive. I haven't feedbacked it enough but I can tell you that I am hooked beyond the telling on it. This is the story that kept me going when I was writing Last Daughter for NaNo. If I wasn't in the mood to write before I read this, I was when I got up from it and the 'verse just keeps going a fact that I will never complain about.

Harry Potter:

Accio Stone by krisomniac. It is hands down probably my most favorite Harry Potter story period. It is just heartbreakingly beautiful. It's a "what if the Potters lived" Alternate Universe and it is just absolutely wonderful. Harry is amazing, James/Lily and the characters separately...also? Remus/Sirius and that alone you should bring a tissue for.

Believe by lady_sarai. There's not a lot of stories out there that I have seen which deal with Christianity at all and when they do, it's generally the worst sort of stereotypes. This story isn't that. It masterfully blends the world of Harry Potter with the idea of faith and I have kept this one in my memories if only as the example of how I wish all stories dealing with the subject could be treated.

Stargate:

Differences by epeeblade it is a SG1 genderbender "Paula Davis" to be precise and it is Paula ending up in a reality where Paula is Paul and the understandable mayhem which ensues and the interrogation with Jack makes me giggle every time.

Untitled by mylittleredgirl it is Jack/Kerry and it was for me and it is beautiful. EVERYTHING that I love about the concept of Jack/Kerry (Kerry from "Threads") is in this story and it's just incredible. I adore Little Red's writing anyway but she brought it with this story and I still reread it over and over and over.

Omissions of the Omen by saeva and verstehen. One thing I have always had much wish for on SG1 is seeing someone living the life of the SGC but having a spouse that doesn't. We know that every day in our respective militaries there are men and women who cannot tell their spouses anything of what they're doing day to day and they have to learn how to make a life with it. I had hoped that with Cameron Mitchell we might finally get that but, alas, no. Well, what the show doesn't give the fans do and the authors of this one did it with Cam beautifully. I love his wife, I love the life they have that's hinted here and this story does not get enough love and it should.

Stargate: Atlantis

Confectionary by havocthecat it is Kate/Elizabeth and it is BEAUTIFUL! There is not enough Kate/Elizabeth in the world and this one is just touch perfect like all of her work and you must read!

Smallville:
Yes, Virginia, There is A Superman by carcassi The amount of glee this story filled me with is inhuman. It really is. And you don't really need to be that familiar with Smallville to really love this story. It is Superman to the core and the rest of the Superman incarnations wish they could get it this right!

downfallverse there is no way for me to pick just one story from this AU, you must simply read them all. It's written by aelora and it is fantastic. It's a girl!Clark/Lex Luthor AU and oh my god if they'd done Smallville like this...*TWIRL*

X:Men

A Precious Gift by angelsgracie a few years ago I started postulating on what it would look like if the X-Men had different powers. Eventually that idea got picked up and ran with by other elements of the fandom but not before angelsgracie wrote this for me and I love it so. She wrote Scott/Rogue and swapped Rogue's powers and I love this fic. I never really read any of the ones that came from the challenges spawned by the idea but I reread this one over and love it a little more every time. It's a shame she never wrote any more in this AU after.

Batman Begins

The Beginnings of All Things Are Small by "unknown" this is a yuletide fic and it is introducing Dick Grayson into the Batman Begins 'verse. marag recced this and boy does it deserve it. It's just...Oh Dick

And The City Is Full of Light also by "unknown". It's another yuletide story and oh my god this is just...*squees shamelessly* Describing too much of this will take the surprise away from it but I can promise you, it's just a wonderful extension of the movie and I adore it!

She-Ra

Hope Grows (Greener Than Grass Stains) also "Unknown" an also yuletide it is Adora/Glimmer and it's got Adora troubled by being She-Ra, troubled by her place in the world, troubled by so many things and it is beautiful!
