Condo for sale or rent

Hey, selling my condo in South Medford. 2 bed, 2 bath, all modern appliances. Washer/dryer in unit, building has a pool, gym and raquetball. Its within walking distance of the meadow glen mall busses, and Wellington Orange Line. Also like a 2 minute drive from Tufts. We are also considering renting it. I didn't feel like posting on the rentals section on Craigslist because every time I do, I get 100 emails from people wanting to know how close it is to Maine, or if I would cut my price to $5 a month, or if they can sniff my hair. But YOU guys, YOU guys I can trust. $1400 a month with 2 parking spaces. Or $299,000 if you're looking to buy. But enough of that, get your details here: http://web.mac.com/overstim/ |

i just joined a bunch of mass. communities the other day after coming across the b0st0n one (while looking for more info on the supposed pepperell animal shelter closing down situation...) and i have a got a question or ten =]
do any of you guys :
1. have any leads on cheap one-bedroom/studio apartments in the boston-ish area? the best ive come across is a one bedroom in an apartment building in medford (on the fellsway) for about $600-700/month but its not as close to a t-stop as id like (i could get to wellington but not really by walking) and i was told by a friend who lives there that the walls are paper-thin.
2. or could you recommend a realtor? ive never had to look for an apartment before so im pretty lost. im used to moving in with friends who already have a place. i dunno how to come across/find my dream place hah.
3. or.. does anyone on here need a roommate? im 24, vegan (its ok if yer not), have 2 well-behaved cats, love any and all things rock n roll, and am really nice/friendly/easy to get along with! (can supply much more info and arrange a super-fun meet-up?)
maybe im dreaming but $600 is roughly the MOST id like to have to pay. and id like to live as close as possible to a t-stop. and id like to move asap, even tomorrow! =] boston-ish rent is crazy compared to where i was living before: salem.
thanks! x-posted a little bit.

» Found Lost Dog in Medford Square (with pictures)
I found a lost dog earlier this evening while waiting for the bus in Medford Square. The dog looks to be some sort of sheep-dog mix. It's about three feet long, with long grey-and-black fur, pointed ears and brown eyes. The dog is very well mannered, and took to a leash pretty well.
I took the dog to the Medford police station near the square, but they said they didn't have a place to keep stray dogs, and the animal control officer had gone home for the day. They recommended that I call the ACO tomorrow, so I've got the dog in a warm spot in my basement right now.
Does anyone here know what local animal shelters are good? I live in south Medford, near Ball Square. I don't have a car, so I'm hoping for something that's not too terribly far away, especially since it's supposed to snow tonight. If nothing else, maybe the ACO will know what to do with the dog. (I'm not allowed to have dogs here; I'm kinda stretching it as it is.)
I'll post a reply to this post with the details of what happens tomorrow, so if anyone is looking they can find their dog.

» Please Support The Green Line to Medford!
Medfordites! If you are a supporter of the wonderful Green Line trolleys being extended to West Medford (Rt. 16 by UHaul and Whole Foods, most likely), PLEASE speak up and help support public opinion in favor! If you are not in favor or don't know anything about it, please GET IN FAVOR of it! It'll be great and make Medford/West Medford an even better, more vibrant and convenient place to live, work and visit.
Look at the mgna.com website! Attend the upcoming meetings! Call or write to City Hall and let Mayor McGlynn know you favor it. Tell ALL of your Medford friends and neighbors to support it. There is a small group of vociferous opponents, who mostly oppose the Green Line trains for foolish, mean-spirited and non-existent reasons. You can help make this great proposal a reality!

» ONOZ, Scary Sidewalks!
O dear neighbors of West Medford, I implore you, please go out and shovel and/or salt and/or throw sand on your sidewalks. Walking my housemate's dog today put me in the position of having to choose between slipping on the ice or walking in traffic. I consider myself a person of above-average balance and sensible shoes, and I was walking with extreme caution on the icy bits, and I still almost fell four times.
This has been a public service message. Thank you.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it, and happy Chinese food and videos day to the rest of us. :-)

» Hello! We're Your Kinky Neighbors!
The Wet Spots are coming! (and other innuendos)
Saturday, Oct. 13, midnight The Coolidge Corner Theatre 290 Harvard St Brookline MA 02446 Tickets: $16.50
It's a night of decadence and debauchery as The Boston Babydolls play with some very special guests.
All the way from Toronto, it's the kinky, funny songs of The Wet Spots! The Wet Spots are the product of a foursome between Cole Porter, Annie Sprinkle, Ira Gershwin, and Dr. Ruth. Their lively shows feature spankings, singalongs, and bawdy sex-ed. Singing songs like "Christmas Means Fisting to Me" and "Bi-curious George", The Wet Spots are known for their "outrageously clever lyrics" (Georgia Straight) and "sophisticated showmanship" (Vancouver Sun). They have also been called "utterly without substance" and accused of "lowering the tone of the evening" (Cape Town Times). Confirming both opinions, their new album "Hello Kinky" has become a favourite on queer radio and the Howard Stern network.
The Boston Babydolls will be accompanying The Wet Spots live, plus performing to a variety of appropriate music, and showing some vintage burlesque footage. It's a rare treat to have these troubadours of the perverse in Boston. Previous Boston Babydoll presentations at The Coolidge Corner Theater have sold out in advance. Please purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
LISTEN TO SONGS FROM "HELLO KINKY" FREE at http://wetspotsmusic.com/hk_player.html
Tickets to The Coolidge Corner Theater can be purchased in advance at the box office, online (www.Coolidge.org), or by phone at (617) 734 -2501
