PROGRAMSTART
The Year is 215X and the world has been steadily climbing the ladder of technological perfection. Anything imaginable has been made possible and any challenges seem all but child's play to the legions of scientists who silently pull the Strings of Life from behind the veil of the government. Nature herself has even become a meaningless threat; cities built on fault-lines never see so much as a shiver through the ground, tornadoes no longer rip through the flat plains, hurricanes and tsunamis never threaten the lives of the seaside dwelling. People go on with their peaceful, exceedingly easy lives, unknowing of the deep Barrier that encompasses each and every town, keeping careful track of its inhabitants, natives, visitors and, of course, threats.

The only known police force consists of both humans and androids. The force works silently, often having little to no trouble subduing criminals with its access to the Barrier's information. But, the general public have little to worry about, as far as fraudulent activities, for only the most trusted humans and efficiently programmed androids are chosen for the job. Using a highly-investigative method of its potential hires, those with even the slightest suggestion of truancy are disqualified, both in humans and in androids' programmers.

All seems well and good for the Earth, as each and every needed resource can, if not readily available in nature, be replicated at equal or higher efficiency than the original, though the direct method has not been disclosed, another feature shrouded in mystery by the government.

However, as the saying goes, not everything lasts forever.
