The Third Annual Fleece Appreciation Challenge

Photobucket

It's December, winter is here and many more months of cold and darkness awaits. In other words, it's the perfect time for a little warm, fluffy comfort in the form of Rodney McKay and his orange wonder-fleece!

All contributions are welcome! Stories, art, poetry, videos, fanmixes, icons, interpretive dance (and if you can pull off the last one, [info]zinfic will worship you until the world ends). Romance, angst, porn, crack, wacky fun adventures - only your imagination sets the limits! The mods are hopeless McSheppers, but all pairings are welcome as long as your contribution somehow features the fleece.

Deadline this year is December 31:st, which means we have lots of time to fill [info]mcfleece with love for the orange fleece and the astrophysicist inside it.

This challenge is brought to you by the brilliant (and slightly unhinged) minds of [info]zinfic and [info]the_cephalopod

Challenge #60: Accident

It's Monday and time for a new challenge. (As announced, I'll give you until Thursday December 3rd to post answers to the Tease challenge because I was so late with the reminder.)

Challenge #60 is:

Accident

Accidents can cover a wide range from those tragic life-changing ones (*wah* ... death!fic) or those that seem that way (*back from the dead*). There's the little accidents that get them in trouble with some natives or the boss or leave them in the infirmary to be comforted (or kissed better ;). And then there's the *wink wink nudge nudge* kind of "accident", where they're stranded on a sunny island with a ton of sunscreen, lube and dvds or something like that.

Challenge technically closes December 14th 2009. But after that we'll have our third annual amnesty challenge The Other Side of the Deadline 3, so you'll be able to write for this as well as any previous other challenge in the last two weeks of the year. Have fun!

Reminder for challenge #59 (Tease) and poll for #60

Our current challenge is Tease. I'm terribly sorry that I'm late. Yesterday, I forgot while finishing my NaNoWriMo and went to bed thinking "first thing in the morning". Then I completely forgot until now :/ So this time you'll have time until Thursday December 3rd!

Next challenge poll includes elements of my NaNoWriMo novel ;) You can vote for more than one. Winner will be next challenge.

Challenge #59: Tease

It's Monday and time for a new challenge. (As always, you can still post as long as it's the 16th somewhere in the world.)

Challenge #59 is:

Tease

My guess is that John teased Rodney for the first time about ten minutes into spending some time alone with him back in Antarctica. In any case, teasing each other is one of the basic elements of their relationships. Of course, once their relationship takes a romantic turn, other kinds of teasing could come into play. I seem to have a special fondness for John draping himself on just about anything to distract Rodney. Except that John will (eventually) follow through with what he started. After teasing Rodney about giving in ;) What are your scenarios?

Challenge closes November 30th 2009 (the same day as NaNoWriMo!). Have fun!

Challenge #58: In hindsight's laser vision - in hindsight

Title: In hindsight's laser vision
Author: rosiepaw
Rating: G
Word Count: 637

My apologies if I'm breaking rules by doing this. When I first posted this ficlet, the first few comments showed that it wasn't doing what I wanted it to but also gave me some insight on *why*, which triggered a "see the problem -> fix the problem" response. Then (of course) it turned into a slightly different story! <scratches head trying to figure out how stories do that to themselves>

Challenge #58: Hindsight

It's Monday and time for a new challenge. (As always, you can still post as long as it's the 2nd somewhere in the world.)

Challenge #58 is:

Hindsight

Hindsight is 20/20. What are the things that our heroes look back on and see in a different light? What would they do differently? Or maybe they actually can do it over thanks to a time machine or a hint from an Alternate Universe. If you'd rather not look back there's also the second definition of hindsight: a firearm's rear sight.

Challenge closes November 16th 2009. Have fun!

PS: For those wondering: I had to break the tie by changing my vote on either Hindsight or Heart and I took away Heart. I'm sure it'll come up again though.

Spoilers: Through 5x20
