Ready to sign up to play for the Home Team? Then you're in the right place! Just leave the following info in a comment to this post, and you're all set:

LJ Name
Email address
(not your default LJ one, please)

There are 23 places available on this team, and places will be filled on a strictly first come, first served basis. If you're wondering why this is one less than the Away Team, we're happy to say that it's because [info]lamardeuse has accepted our invitation to join us once more as a thank you for doing such a great job as Team Romance captain last year!

You can sign up for someone else (if they have asked you to do so), but please only sign up one person per comment unless the particpants are co-writing for the fest. If two participants are co-writing, only one person should comment. Please include both LJ names and email addresses, and provide a link to a fic that you/they have co-written together.

Not decided which team to join yet? Then let our team captain [info]thegrrrl2002 tell you why you should be signing up right now for the one and only Home Team.

John and Rodney may be two very different men, but they have at least one thing in common--they never really fit in. Before the events in "The Rising", we found out John had disobeyed orders which resulted in a black mark on his Air Force service record. Consequently he was assigned to the very remote McMurdo Station in Antarctica. The Rodney we saw on SG1, on the other hand, was abrasive and difficult and managed to get himself assigned to Russia for an unknown period of time.

John Sheppard was a man who kept his distance, kept his cool and never let anyone get close. Rodney McKay was someone who no one wanted to get close to.

Then they met. And found out where they belong--together. Whether they are on earth, or in the Pegasus Galaxy, they are completely at home with each other. Personality quirks and foibles are accepted with fondness. John opens up, or maybe Rodney just goes barging past all barriers. John revels in Rodney's brilliance, and is unfazed by Rodney's....Rodneyness. They fight together, play together, snuggle in bed together. And, after a day of combating the horrors of the Pegasus Galaxy, they find comfort in each other. Home is not a physical location for them, but an emotional one.

If you feel this way too, that John and Rodney have a sense of utter belonging, that they are each other's home, then join me and sign up for the home team!

What are you waiting for? Sign up for the Home Team now!

**TEAM FILLED! THANK YOU EVERYONE!**

To volunteer as a back up writer please go over to this post and leave your LJ name and email address. Thanks!

Welcome to [info]mcshep_home, the community for the Home Team in this year's the [info]mcshep_match challenge!

We aren't quite ready to kick off yet, but if you're planning to sign up for McShep Match and the Home Team, or even just want to know what's going on, keep an eye on the main comm, where all news and announcements can be found.

Just one more thing for now, which is to let you know that just like last year, we'll be running a couple of small warm-up challenges for everyone – not just for writers, not just for fest participants - between now and the end of sign ups, so keep an eye on the [info]mcshep_match community for news on those as well!

Sign-ups start April 18th 2008
