Rules!

General Rules…

1)     
If you’ve come to this community to bad mouth anybody, the band,
gays, our stories, or anything I will NOT HESITATE TO REPORT YOU FOR
HARASSMENT! You have been WARNED.

2)     
I don’t want to hear “Omg, that song sucks! That band sucks!
Emo is so cliché. Hot Topic is a money pit. :slander slander slander:”
I WILL BAN YOUR ASS. And I WILL REPORT YOU FOR HARASSMENT! (If these
statements are a part of your entry, then that is fine. I don’t want to
hear it otherwise.)

3)     
Please do not post anything OTHER than the entries. If you would
like to affiliate/link please.

4)     
Feel free to comment on an entry to express your liking for it.

On Timing…

1)     
Each challenge is exactly two weeks long, giving enough time for
you to finish and send in your entry.

2)     
Challenges will be posted on EITHER Sunday night OR Monday morning.
On the last Sunday night/Monday morning, I will end the challenge and
begin the next. Voting will go on for a week (and will overlap the second
challenge).

3)     
Please have finished entries IN by the last Sunday night of the
Challenge. If I do not happen to be able to pick them up on Sunday night,
that does NOT mean that you may enter it on Monday morning. It will be
disqualified!

On Posting Entries…

1)     
Entries may only be a ONE-SHOT. If you would like to continue with
the story, please wait until AFTER the Challenge is finished voting to
post the continuation. Continuations are to be posted in MyChemicalSlash
or any other applicable fanfiction communities.

2)     
When posting, please include the following before the entry:

Do NOT put an Author’s Note in your entry! We want to make the
votes fair and Author’s Notes can deter a reader from reading.

On Voting…

1)     
When I post the list of all open entries, please tell me
ANONYMOUSLY which you picked.

2)     
Do NOT vote for something twice, do not use a mule account/test
journal to post!

3)     
Do NOT get your friends to vote for you. If I or any of the other
moderators (if we have any) feel that there are people voting illegally,
YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

4)     
You may vote for yourself.

5)    It MUST be your own work!

On the Challenges...

1)     
Not all challenges will be the same. With one you may have to use
objects or situations given and for another it may be based upon an image.
With all, however, you MUST follow the specific rules given when the
Challenge is announced!

2)     
There will be various awards that will be handed out at the end of
Challenges. When the voting is finished, I will email you with either an
award from the categories mentioned below or a participation award. If you
win third, second, or first place you will get either: an icon,
banner/header for your journal/layout created by me, <lj user=ohfuckplease>,
in that order. Also, if you win third, second, or third place then you may
NOT win any of those places in the next Challenge – we just want to be
fair. :)

Hi. Who are you? 

Hey! I’m S. Taylor, but you can
call me Taylor. I’m the moderator of the My Chemical Slash Challenge
community. 

My Chemical what? 

My Chemical Slash is a
Livejournal.com community for slash fanfiction in the fandom of My
Chemical Romance. 

So… you make up stories about
real life people? Don’t you know that it’ll never happen? And what
would the band think?! 

Oh, but it's fun! And, well, we’re
sorry to the boys if they see any of our work. We’re strange
individual’s and are best to be left alone. 

Okay, so what do I do?

You… write…. Please read the
rules of the community and of the specific challenge you’re entering
before you start writing and before you enter to make sure you comply with
the rules.

So, I just write for you? What’s
in it for me.

The first place winner will win a My
Chemical Romance-themed layout by me (some times themed with the pairing,
sometimes random; fully coded with me helping to install it and fix up the
sidebar), the second place winner will win a MCR-themed banner/header for
their journal that ties in to the pairing they write about, and the third
place winner will win a NON-mini-movie icon by me. Mini-movie icon’s
take too much time. 

What if I don’t win?

Then you try next time! This is for
fun, anyways, you shouldn’t be doing it for the prizes involved!

What if I do win?

Well, other than getting a
prize/plaque for your journal, you cannot place first, second, or third
twice in a row.

How does voting go?

When I post the list of entries, you
will read through them. In the post that I have the entries, you will
state ANONYMOUSLY which entry was the best. Voting rules are subject to
change.

How long does it have to be?

You may only apply a one-chaptered
story. If you wish to continue it, please wait until the challenge the
story is entered in to finish voting. Other than that, it just has to be a
reasonable length. Please, no less than two pages on Microsoft Word
(unless you get specific permission from me)

CURRENT CHALLENGE

For
the first challenge, you must write a Gerard/whomever the writer wishes and it
MUST include two of these things: 

A
new use for paint, new (karoke induced) version of Don Mclean's American Pie,
kitty ears, someone being attacked by a crow, fanfiction, or a strange dream.

Any
rating, any warning. Please make it a one shot; if you would like to continue
it after the challenge is over, you may do so.
