Quick Update! [Mar. 9th, 2007|02:14 pm]
martini_romance
Hey, all! I haven't disappeared! Actually, I've been working my tail off finishing up the project and putting it all together. I've scanned everyone's pages and organized them by continent, all that's left is just putting them in the notebook. All in all, I received about 80 pages - which, to be quite honest, is more than I thought I would get. Thank you to everyone who participated!

The project will be completed for the Los Angeles show tomorrow night, where I'm hoping I'll be able to hand it over to one, if not all, of the guys personally. If I can't catch them tomorrow night, I'll try again in Anaheim on Sunday and San Diego on Tuesday. Regardless, I will find a way to get it to them, and then give you all a full report - hopefully complete with pictures of me giving the scrapbook to them.

I received everyone's page, and all the pages I received made it into the book. After this weekend, I'll post pictures of what the final project looks like and scans of everyone's pages. If you don't want me to post a scan of your page, please comment on this entry telling me your name, where you're from, and a brief description of what your page looks like so I can identify it - I want to respect your privacy if your page is personal.

Thank you so much, all of you! This project turned out beautifully, and I know the guys will absolutely love it to pieces. I can't wait to give it to them!

Extended Mailing Deadline. [Feb. 4th, 2007|01:05 pm]
martini_romance
For those of you who found out about this project a little late, I'm extending the mailing deadline. Why? Because I want everyone who's wanting to participate to be a part of this. So:

The new, extended mailing deadline is: February 11th

That gives everyone an entire additional week to get their pages in the mail.

And since there seemed to have been some confusion on what the 'mailing deadline' actually is:

Your page does not have to be in my hands by Feb. 11th. You just have to mail it on or before that day.

I hope that's clear and makes sense.

I'm still sorting through all the pages I've received, and it's taking me a while since there's a ton of them, but once I get myself organized, I'll post making a list of all the peoples' pages I have.

And just so everyone knows, if you didn't follow instructions on what to include on your page, your page may not make it into the scrapbook. Paper size and missing content seem to be a problem. We warned everyone of this ahead of time, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Also, if you haven't mailed/made your page yet, know that personal letters to the guys in the band are not scrapbook pages. Please keep that in mind.

Thank you to everyone who's participated! Get those pages sent if you haven't already, you only have one more week to mail them!

Thanks, all. :)

North and South America mailing info! [Jan. 12th, 2007|03:32 pm]
martini_romance
Hey guys! I know a lot of you have been wondering when we were going to make a post regarding the N. and S. America mailing address. Gina and I ran into a problem, so now everyone will be mailing their pages to me. Don't worry about anything besides getting your pages in the mail - the project will still be put together as planned. :)

So.

Everyone will be mailing their pages to:

Lindsay Bankhardt
346 Chelan Court
Simi Valley, California 93065
USA

Those of you in the Americas can now begin sending in your pages!

And as of right now, the mailing deadline is still January 31st. Remember, that means that your page must be in the mail before that day.

Also, I've been noticing that there have been some frequently asked questions in the comments. So, for those of you wondering:

- A4 paper size is about the same as 8 1/2 x 11 inches. If it's not exact by the centimeter, no worries, it'll be fine.
- Yes, you can mail more than one page in the same envelope to save money on postage. But, each person has to have their own scrapbook page.
- If you absolutely cannot find a postcard of your town/city/etc., you may take a picture of a special place in your town (perhaps some place you think would be pictured on a postcard).
- Including small drawings/sketches/comic strips on your page is totally OPTIONAL. Please, though, be sure to keep them small if you do choose the include them.

Lastly. Pages from everywhere have started trickling into my mailbox! I received the first page a few days ago, one yesterday, and one this morning. As I receive pages, I'll make posts saying whose have come in so you guys know that your pages are making it here safely.

Here's who I've got:

- Petra from Finland
- Ari from Indonesia
- Bethany from London

I can't even express in words how gorgeous the pages look. I'm going to scan everyone's pages before we give the scrapbook to the boys, and if it's okay with everyone, I'd like to make a huge picspam post showing off everyone's pages once the project is complete. Sound good? Let me know how you feel about that idea - especially if you wouldn't feel comforable with everyone seeing your page.

Keep up the awesome work! You all are so rad. This project is turning out amazing already, and we're not even close to being done. Get those pages in the mail!

xo.
Lindsay and Gina.

Like always, if you have any questions, just leave a comment. Note that we will not be sending out personal emails to answer questions; the purpose of this community is to have one place where all project updates can be found and where all questions can be answered. Thanks!

Mailing Info [Dec. 18th, 2006|07:40 pm]
martini_romance
MAILING INFO.
Important, please read carefully.

Since everyone has had some time to get a head start on their pages, Gina and I figured it's about time we let you all know about the mailing situation.

We've separated the workload by continent, so if you live in:
Europe, Asia, Australia, or Africa
you will be mailing your pages to the following address:

Lindsay Bankhardt
346 Chelan Court
Simi Valley, California 93065
USA

If you're finished, you may start mailing your page as of right now.

If you live in:
North America or South America
you will be mailing your pages to Gina.

Her mailing address will be posted soon.

To avoid folding your page ('cause creases aren't pretty), all pages must be mailed in a manilla envelope.
Other mailing envelopes accepted too, of course, just as long as your page doesn't have to be folded to be mailed.

MAILING DEADLINE: January 31st.

You must have your page in the mail before the mailing deadline. This way, we will receive everyone's pages plenty of time before the March 10th Los Angeles show - which is where Gina and I plan to hand over this beauty of a project to the boys.

Remember, your page doesn't have to be uber amazing - just be yourself! :)

Thank you, guys! We look forward to receiving your pages! And if you have any questions, feel free to drop us a comment on this post.

A Simple Introduction [Dec. 15th, 2006|01:13 am]
martini_romance
MCR Project 2007
Get into it!

My friend Gina ([info]socorporatesuit) and myself ([info]martini_romance) have decided to take the intiative to do something extravagant.

We're organizing a project that requires fans around the world to participate. The guys have done so much for us over the years, and we want everyone to help us let them know just how much we appreciate it. We will be putting together a scrapbook, and we need your help. Each fan who's interested in being a part of this project will be creating their own personal scrapbook page to be included in a scrapbook specified to their state/country. All pages will be mailed to Gina and myself, and we will take care of organizing them and putting them in the books. We hope to have tons of participants from everywhere, and are planning to have the entire project finished in time for MCR's U.S. headlining tour early next year, when we plan on giving it to them after an L.A. show.

We are planning on following through with this completely. We want this to be something the band and us, as fans, will remember years and years from now.

Each person will be allowed one page, standard paper size (8 1/2 x 11 inches), one side only.

Your scrapbook page will include:
- a postcard illustrating where you come from; i.e. if you're from California, put a post card of the beach, Disneyland, etc.
- a picture of yourself
- a small bio including your first name (last name is optional), your age, where you're from (city & state; country only if you live outside the U.S.), and maybe something fun like your favorite MCR song or where and when you first saw them, or a interesting fact about you or where you're from.
- any small drawings/doodles you may want to include to try to impress Gerard. (this is optional.)
NO LETTERS/LONG-ASS NOTES; that's not the purpose of a scrapbook. Make your page pretty and decorate it however you wish, but please, don't go off on any wild, artistic tangents; remember that your page is standard paper size, one side only, and it must be able to fit nicely into a plastic page cover (i.e. don't include any "3-D" elements on your page).
You're page doesn't have to be over-the-top and amazing; if you're not the artistic type, it's okay, it's the fact that you want to participate that counts. Sometimes the simplest things are the most effective.

Pictures must follow these guidelines:
- NO "MYSPACE" PICTURES. none of that over-your-head-looking-away-from-the-camera stuff; you all know what we mean.
- be appropriate; basically, no p0rnz. (flippin' the bird to your camera will also be deemed inappropriate, FYI.)
- be NORMAL. as in, wear your everyday, street clothes. don't be over-the-top with make-up. act happy and SMILE. just be yourself; don't feel the need to impress.
- no group pictures. if you have to, cut yourself out. but it must be JUST YOU, not you and your group of 20 friends.
- no collages. one, decently-sized picture is enough.
- wear an MCR shirt, if you want. but you don't HAVE to.
- if you want to be creative, take a picture in front of a place in your town that you love or is special to you - a favorite store, restaurant, hang-out, etc. - show MCR you're proud of where you're from!
Any pages we receive with pictures that don't follow ALL of these guidelines WILL NOT BE INCLUDED in the scrapbook. Please, just be logical and smart when selecting your picture.

Thank you to all of you who are willing to participate! Keep working on those pages! We're absolutely thrilled by the response we got - 5 pages of comments, all from people who said that THEY ARE IN. So, let's do this!

Mailing info will be posted soon; keep an eye open.

xo.
Gina and Lindsay.

P.S. Spread the word!
