Fanmix: Twilight (Rosalie Hale) + Icons
Yes, it's a fanmix of sorts. The idea to make one was ironically inspired by my mega playlist o' doom. It seemed only appropriate that my first one is about Rosalie Hale, because...well, she's the subject of the majority of my Twilight fanwork stuff. Anyway, onto it then!

Um, more for a certain emptiness/loneliness with which Rosalie has to come to terms as a vampire. She's afraid to be alone, but she'll always have to deal with never having the life she wanted. (I didn't really pick this song for the one night stands, unless Rosalie really is into that kind of thing. *shrug*)

Rosalie's far from invisible (of course, she might just cast no shadow because she reflects bunches of rainbows in the sun!). Yet, she does have to be invisible in a way. She's stuck in this life. She can't really take anything from her humanity with her, and she can't leave a great impression of her existence (such as the children she's always wanted)

Beautiful, but broken. Incomplete. Imperfect. God, Rosalie's more depressing than I thought. I usually don't see her as this sad, but I guess it's just magnified in one large dose.

.07 Third Eye Blind - Wounded [download]
Rosalie's been abused. She has the most haunting story. It's not a fairytale, it's a sad nightmare that some people can actually relate to (like Bella). Anyway, abuse. Anger at the people responsible...yeah.

.08 The Wallflowers - One Headlight [download]
She's not whole, but she still has Emmett. She still has half her dream (haha...I was wondering if I'd get to use that "half" thing in this post somewhere.), and he helps complete her. Not totally, but some, and it seems to be enough to keep her going through this existence.

.09 Rilo Kiley - About The Moon [download]
I don't know exactly how to explain it, but it just feels so Rosalie to me. The repetition, the lament. There's something about the song and I just had to go with it.

.10 Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved [download]
Hahaha...I bitch about this song so much. Not out of dislike for it, but because it never fit with the rest of SAJ for me...ANYWAY, back on topic. It's got the sadness, the beauty, the loneliness. Have I been using that word a lot? It's not that I necessarily see Rosalie as lonely, but having to live with the emptiness of her deepest desire never being fulfilled.
