I meant to do this yesterday, but was too tired to get around to it. I'm sure a lot of the details from the show will be repeats, but maybe some of it won't be. Either way, I'm going to share my account of the most amazing concert I have ever seen. I hope it's even a fraction as enjoyable to read as being there was! Also, it's kind of long because, like Gerard, I take a long time to tell stories, although my reason is different. :D

well fuck it, we're gonna make it even MORE dramatic )

The show last night was amazing and emotional. Instead of boring you all with details from my journey from Miami to New York I'm just going to copy the highlights/things that just stick out in my mind that i wrote of in my journal. I put pictures, and they are kind of massive, at least they were while I was typing this, so just a warning.

I went to both My Chem shows that took place in Philadelphia this week.

Tuesday, May 6th:

Wherein cheesy television shows are something of a theme... )

A couple of things about Wednesday, May 7th:

In West Philadelphia, born and raised… )

They just all looked really happy and excited and it was so nice to get to see them in a relatively intimate venue right before they go away for awhile. It was a blast.

May. 5th, 2008 @ 06:06 pm Reviews of Chicago and St. Louis
So I thought I would go ahead and do my reviews for both of the shows together, this might be a bit long, but I'll try to do my best to keep from rambling too long..lol Both shows were two totally different experiences, and I got to meet Frankie! And I'm sure that not everything word for word about the shows is perfectly accurate, but you guys will get the idea.

on to the reviews )

So is it pretty much a consensus that these days they're starting with Sleep, Give'em Hell Kid and This is How I Disappear? I'll be photographing the show tomorrow (5/6) in Philly, and I like to go in knowing how much time I'll have to get things done.

Thanks.

just a few things I thought would interest everyone :

-I think Cortez's (?) grandmother (??) was there- I was right in the front on the left and kept seeing Cortez holding this cute older lady's hand and leading her around. During James's keyboard solo Franki was over there talking to her, shook her hand, tried to hug her even though she was sitting and he was standing, and offered her a gatorade (so cute!); and then when the boys came back on she came out with Franki's guitar on-- she grinned and laughed for a minute while the crowd cheered at her, then she was like "okay- get this off of me!!!" gave the guitar back to franki and BOOKED IT back to her seat! I thought it was so sweet that they let her come out like that.

-Franki seemed a bit out of it, he happily interacted with the other boys and cortez, but he NEVER looked out at the crowd until like, twice at the verrry end.
I think there was something wrong with his equipment-- during one of the first songs he just stopped playing for a minute and stood there with his hands on his hips, and after that song gerard came over and asked him "are you okay?" but he nodded and said yea. he also stopped playing during I'm not okay- he put his hands over his ears and shook his head a couple times then smiled and said "it's fine"-- it was in response to the people directly to the right of me asking him something, but by then my ears were screwed and I didn't catch it-- I think they said "are you okay", and his answer either meant he couldn't hear himself, or he was teasing them by answering "nonono--- yea"- either way it was cute, and nice to see him finally interact with the crowd. (It seems like whenever I'm in front of Ray I end up watching Franki talk to the crowd, and the one time I'm in front of him he kept his eyes closed the whole time! oh well, he still rocked.)

-Mikey nodded at me, (I think). Everyone around me was under 5' 2" so I assumed it just seemed like he was looking at me because there was no one to block his eyeline- but during FLW I was so sure he was watching me that I waved really small (my arms were wedged up level with my face) and he nodded, smiled, and then ran off to another part of the stage. I feel silly because I know everyone thinks they're being looked at, so if anyone who was there knows something else he could've been nodding at I wouldn't mind having my illusion shattered, haha. Overall I was shocked by how much Mikey interacted with the crowd, I agree with other people who say it seems like he and franki have switched.

-During desert song there are no drums and Bob had nothing to do-- so he played catch with a gatorade bottle behind the stage! It was hilarious when I finally noticed!

- when a guy came out to play cowbell during teenagers, Bob spent the whole time trying to mess him up, just shaking his arm and laughing at him while the guy made a i'm-concentrating-so-hard face.

- there was a virgin mary statue on stage behind franki- it was the only thing on the whole stage so I wondered if it had any more-then-obvious signifigance.

-I think Gerard missed his hair, he was headbanging like crazy- something I have never really seen him do before- it was adorable, he seemed so into it. And it was just what I wanted from a small show like Sloss Furnace, he wasn't the larger- then- life stage persona of my first show, or the off- his- rocker- bizaree persona of TBP shows, he just seemed like a cute dude who really loved being there.

-Gerard blew kisses to the crowd three times. I've been the three other shows and have only ever seen one kiss-- so I believed him when he said we were one of the best crowds this tour! Knowing this was the last time I'll see the boys for a while I'm glad I had such an awesome crowd with me!

I think the other reviews said everything else important-- the waltzing during mama, the total apeshit of FLW, g's epic howling, the whole "little dude's like us shouldn't climb stuff. That'll HURT dude!"-- I just wanted to add a few things that could only be seen from the front. <3

Hi, everyone! It seems like there hasn't been a review for one of the Chicago shows in here yet, so I thought I'd post mine.

What happened in Chicago on Friday night was pretty difficult for me to put into words, but I did my best.

Cut, for obvious reasons. )

EDIT: My friend's account of the show can be found over at this entry on [info]chemicalromance, in case you'd like to read it from her point of view.
