About:
Slash-fiction rules LJ, and het-fiction deserves it's own community, too. Membership is open and anyone is welcome to join. Het-fics of every genre imaginable will be accepted, as long as they involve members of My Chemical Romance in some way. Let your imagination run free, be creative, and have fun.
Disclaimer:
All stories found in this community are completely fictional in every aspect, and are solely for entertainment.
Rules:
**NEW RULE: Whenever you make a story post, you must include the title of your story and the chapter number in the subject line of your post. If your post is a standalone, just say so instead of putting a chapter number.**
1. Create an introduction
Every single story must include an introduction as explained below. If you do not have an introduction on your post, it will not be accepted. No big deal, though, the mods will just let you know and once the problem is fixed your story will be accepted.
- Title: (Your story must contain a title, even if it's something you pull out of your ass at the last moment before you submit it. And if your story is chaptered, you must put the chapter number within the title.)
- Author: (Do not put your real name here, you must use the user code: <*lj user="yourusernamegoeshere"*>. Copy it, paste it, add your user name to replace the example, and remove the asterisk.)
- Main Character: (Self-explanatory. Let the readers know what member you're writing about. If all of the members are involved in your story, do not put all their names down, only put the member's name that the story focuses on.)
- Rating: (You must give your story a rating so other readers know what to expect. It's easy, just use the movie ratings of G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17 and your best judgement depending on the content of your story.)
- POV: (Let the readers know what point of view your story is in, such as: 1st Person, 1st Person Narrative, 2nd Person, 3rd Person Limited, 3rd Person Omnicient, etc.)
- Summary: (A brief summary of your story is absolutely necessary. It should be no more than two sentences, and should simply give the reader a basic idea. You may even use a quote from your story as the summary, if you don't know what to put. If your story is AU, state so here.)
- Disclaimer: (Just a few sentences explaining that your story is, indeed, false. You must include this to avoid any lawsuits or bullshit of the sort.)
- Author Notes: (This is not required. If you wish, any final comments directed towards your readers go here. But, please, keep it short and sweet.)
Remember, you must put an introduction in your story, or else it will continually get rejected until you follow the rules. No excuses. No exceptions.
Lastly, do not change the font, size, or color of your introduction. Leave it in the community's default colors, font, etc. so the community page looks clean and orderly. If you screw around with html in your introduction, the mods will kindly ask you to fix it before your story is accepted.
2. Use an LJ-cut
After your introduction is complete, your story text must be put behind an LJ-cut:
<*lj-cut text="What you want the cut to say here."*>
Your story goes here.
<*/lj-cut*>
Once again, just remove the asterisks. THIS IS REQUIRED. Without an LJ-cut, your story will be rejected until you correct it. No excuses. No exceptions.
However, there is one loophole: if you don't want to use an LJ-cut, you may post your story in your journal and link it to the community. This way, if you want, all comments will be in the same place. To do this, use the following link code rather than the LJ cut:
<*a href="Thelinkgoeshere"*>What you want the link to say here.<*/a*>
Remember to remove the asterisks so it will work.
3. Link to previous chapters
Chaptered stories must contain links to all of the previous chapters so readers do not have to search through the community or your journal for them. This just makes it easier on everyone, especially new readers, so therefore this is not optional. Use the linking code mentioned above in number 2 for the links to previous chapters, because just posting the URL is unacceptable. Actual clickable links work much better.
4. Avoid off-topic posts
No off-topic posts are allowed in this community. This is a community for writing, so pic spams, posts introducing yourself, random bits of news, or anything non-My Chemical Romance are unacceptable (that is what your personal journal is for). If you want to introduce yourself, do so in the author's notes section of your first story post. Any off-topic posts will be deleted.
5. Review stories and respect other members
Please try to review every story you read in this community, especially ones you particularly enjoy or those which you think might need some help. Constructive criticism is appreciated, especially if you find a mistake within a story or would like to provide some helpful advice. While helpful reviews are welcome, BASHING OTHER MEMBERS IS INEXCUSABLE. No pointless arguments or hateful comments will be tolerated. If you do not follow this rule, you will be warned once. And if it occurs a second time, you will be banned.
6. Meet high expectations
All stories posted in this community are expected to contain good, quality writing. Try to avoid over-used plotlines. Originality in stories, proper spelling and grammar, and proper paragraph formatting are required before any story will be accepted. Proofread, proofread, proofread. Double check your writing several times for mistakes, and even ask someone to check it for you. Eventually, some beta readers will be available for this community. If you're interested in becoming a beta reader, contact one of the mods or maintainers. But, please note that certain qualifications will apply.
7. Keep fan-girling to a minimum
No one likes immaturity and no one here cares if you think Gerard Way is "OMmGZz, LYke SoO EFfinGg HAaWTt!" We are all here for the solitary purpose of reading and writing well-written fan-fiction. When you post in this community, be mature, and use proper spelling and grammar in your comments. Everyone knows how, we all go to school, don't we?
