Hey everyone! My name is Sarah, and I'm a new moderator here at mcr_fic_recs. You'll be hearing from me more in coming weeks, so hello. :) Anyway, on to the rec!

Title: Milk In The Aeroplane (A Vacation To The Tropics)
Author: stink_fisting
Pairing: Gerard/Mikey
Rating: Hard R
Summary: Mikey and Gerard go on a Vacation in the Caribbean Islands. They spend a languid night in the bars on the beaches.

COMMENTS:

From Heather: The thing that really stood out to me about this story was the use of imagery and colors. Throughout the whole story you could see everything the author described. The amount of detail lets the reader almost feel the heat and the colors as though they were tangible things beside you.

From Jennaise: There isn't much to be said about this except everyone should read this fic. It’s so beautifully romantic and fantastical. There’s such wonderful imagery and beautiful characterization. I even enjoyed the original characters.

From Sarah: I'm actually not partial to Waycest, but nevertheless I enjoyed this fic. It should be acknowledged that there are some grammatical errors as far as punctuation in quotations goes, but even so, it was a great fic. It's been said, but the imagery was nothing short of amazing; you will be able to see everything that stink_fisting describes. It definitely has a very distinct mood to it, and it's very well-written.

Want To Be a Mod?

Okay guys, I want to apologize for this community being a bit slow. It’s mostly because we’re still getting things organized and what not. But I’d like to thank you all for telling us about all these stories!

As of now I’m going through and making a master list of the stories myself and the mods will read, and then hopefully we’ll get back to posting more quickly. We’re thinking of doing two posts a week, depending on how many stories there are to recommend.

We are also in need of a new moderator. If you’re interested please comment in this post with “Mod Application” in the subject. It’s not that hard of a job actually, so you really don’t have to do anything other than read stories and write a little something about them. Me and the other mod are very nice, we don’t bite, so don’t be afraid to apply!

I’ll let you guys comment and whatnot until Thursday, and then we will make our choice.

Again, thanks so much for helping us out!

Two New Story Recommendations

Title: Home Is a Name
Author: arsenicjade
Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Rating: NC-17
Summary: AU. The brother relationship between Gerard and Mikey is beautifully portrayed as a mix of unconditional love and brotherly teasing. The author deals with very serious issues in a very mature, realistic way and does not belittle them by treating them as a plot device. The relationship between Frank and Gerard follows a realistic progression and is a mixture of real love, friendly teasing, flirtatious teasing, heartbreak and beauty.

From Jennasie: Despite the fact that it seems unfinished and a few minor grammatical errors, the originality of this fic is brilliant. Although it moves quickly through time, you are always aware of it and for that it seems more realistic than even the most well written stories.

From Heather: I really enjoyed reading this, as all the issues were dealt with in a realistic way. Just enough detail was used to draw the reader in, but not enough to make it seem drudging in any way. The characters, I thought, were all very loveable and relatable, with each character bringing something to the story. The whole story itself enforced a sense of family and friendship, and once you get to the end, you feel a sense of contentment.

Pairing: Frank/Gerard
Rating: NC-17
Summary: A strings-free sexual relationship always seems like a good idea... at the time.

From Jennasie: Perfect for the Gerard and Frank lover in you. Wonderfully clichéd and sexy. restriction uses careful wording to place all the right images in your head.

From Heather: I love the fact that this story is so different. With Gerard as a dance instructor and Frank as the mildly goofy student, it puts a new spin on teacher/student relationships in a funny and somewhat dramatic way.
