Welcome to the My Chemical Romance drabble writing community!

Here you will find challenges set every week, and corresponding drabbles written by anyone who wishes to participate! Every Sunday a challenge or theme will be set. It's then up to you to write something for that challenge!

Read other people's entries, comment, and then vote for the drabbles you think were the best!





Every Sunday, a challenge or theme will be posted in the community by the moderators.

You have one week to write for that challenge. You may write up to three drabbles, each interpreting the challenge in a different way, and then post them in the community for other people to read and comment on.

After the week is over, the moderators will close the challenge and open up a new post with screened commenting for you to vote for your favourite three drabbles, in order. Only you and the moderators will be able to see your votes.

At this time, the moderators will also open up a new challenge or theme for you to begin writing again, and so on and so forth.

You have one week to vote. If you do not vote, your drabbles will be disqualified. If you don't write for the challenge, you can still vote, and we encourage you to!

After all the votes have been counted, the three drabbles with the most votes will be announced in first, second and third place.

In short, every Sunday a challenge will close, a new one will open, and a group of winners for a challenge past will be announced. Sound confusing? I'm sure we'll get the hang of it!

When posting an entry, please use the following format:




Please post your entry to the community under an lj cut. Do not fake cut to your own journal, and do not cross-post your entry into any other journals or communities (including your own) until the challenge has ended and the winners have been announced. This just makes sure all the entries have an equal chance of winning. However, once the challenge has ended, please feel free to post your drabble wherever you please.






[+] This is a My Chemical Romance drabble writing community. If you have a problem with bandfiction or bandslash, please move on. You have been warned.

[+] As stated above, this is for My Chemical Romance. Therefore, please keep your drabbles confined to members of the band or assorted employees (touring musicians, techs, security, and managers). No general fic that could be about anyone, anywhere. Also, leave family, friends, and loved ones who are only famous for loving or being loved by the members of MCR out (for example, no Jamia, Alicia, Krista, etc), but crossovers are welcome (hence, Lyn-Z is fair game) unless otherwise stated in the specific challenge.

[+] Drabbles must be EXACTLY 100 words, unless stated otherwise in the challenge. The theme will state the word count or limit, and sometimes it will be more.

[+] You can submit up to three drabbles for each challenge, but please try to vary your work. In other words, don't write about the same thing each time; interpret the challenge differently each time you write a drabble for it.

[+] Please use a spellchecker or BETA reader before submitting your work. If you don't have a BETA reader, ask around. We're friendly people!

[+] Please do not submit parts of stories you have previously written as drabbles. Your submissions must be written for the challenge. This just keeps it fair.

[+] No flaming. Period. The moderators will not tolerate flames and you will receive one warning and then a ban. Constructive critisism, however, is encouraged.

[+] If you read someone's work, please comment. It's a confidence booster!

[+] If you write for a challenge, you MUST vote. If you don't, your submission will be disqualified. If you don't write for a challenge, we still encourage you to vote!

[+] No drama, please. Keep personal issues with other members away from the writing, the commenting, the voting, and the community altogether.

[+] We are very skeptical about advertising in the community, so if you want to check if your advertisement is allowed, please e-mail one of the moderators and ask. We don't usually allow advertisements, unless it is related to this community itself. The same goes for spam; please keep unrelated topics out of the community and just use the community to talk about things related to this site.
