Dallas welcomes us well
Yesterday, we woke up fairly early, but unfortunately not early enough to make it to the places that we had had recommended to us the previous night at WaterWorks. This meant that we had to make do with hotel food for breakfast, and quick at that, as we needed to get on the road. Which we did, and by about 10:30 we were "on the road again."
We drove straight through to Dallas, which is another city that has scary freeways (I think that all new, to me, big city freeways kind of unnerve me) and arrived at Zeus (yet another great store) early for our 5pm signing. I think we surprised our host, Richard, with how many people came. He sold everything that he had of Scott's. There were people who wanted the new book, but had to leave without it. People might believe that we have copies with us to sell as well. But we don't. There is barely room for us in the van, there is no way that there would be any room for anything else. We are too cramped.
I had a blast at the signing, my friend Caroline told her cousin about it, so I got to meet her and her kids and Mother-in-Law. Nice people and always fun to meet family of friends while on the road. I so love this trip. I had some great conversations, met some cool people, and we will (I hope) see many of them again when Scott gives his talk at UT Arlington tomorrow night. It will be a hopping time, so if you are in the area; don't miss it!
After the signing, Richard took us, and many of his closest friends including Scott Kurtz (who added his signature to The Book) out to a TexMex place near the shop. The food was great, the company even better. We had a great time eating and talking, such a good time in fact that we practically closed the place. It was quite late when we left.
Tonight, we are all going to Fanboy Radio where we will be interviewed live, so if you are free between 6 and 7pm Central time (7pm East Coast, 4 Pacific) check us out! It should be fun, and you never know what the girls are going to say.
ETA: I forgot to mention the really cool cake! It was REALLY COOL! In the comments to this post
amboy00 has posted some pics, including one of THE CAKE. Check it out. And thank you Zeus Comics again for a wonderful evening.
