Next stop, Syracuse.
We're still here in Rochester, relaxing after this afternoon's talk at RIT. More about that in a sec, but first...

Next up:

Wednesday, September 20:
Syracuse, NY
Syracuse University
Lecture. 12:45-2:05 pm in the Shemin Auditorium in the Shaffer Art Building.

And yes, it is open to the public!

This afternoon's talk was well-attended by at least as many as came to the MIT talk (though in a room twice the size, so unlike MIT, there were actually empty seats). No camera with us, but if anyone else got pictures, post a link here. We had a full two hours, so I blabbed for much of the first one and then Sky did her 7 minutes about the tour, we fielded a bunch of questions (thanks to Winter and her mike -- at least until she got tired and went back into the audience to play sims on the DS). Then Sky played the first Winterview (which we'll send out shortly!) and we headed upstairs for a reception, at which there was much, much signing. And donuts. And Freihofer's Chocolate Chip Cookies Oh My God.

After that, we ate chinese with friends Chris and Carrie whom we haven't seen in ages and Carrie's friend Nancy. Much-missed old friends plus good food equals "yay!"

The room RIT reserved for us is a suite and it's... very, very large. We are most grateful.

Tomorrow, we're off to see more of RIT and then driving to Syracuse in the evening. Thanks to all our hosts, including the scintillating Matt and Marla, who've taken us under our wing for the duration.

Um, that would be Sims on her laptop. If it exists, our children do not own Sims for DS.

What is this about a Winterview, now??

I am dying of curiosity here, you guys. :)

Soon, I swear!

Sky's computer problems set her back about a week, but it's really done now (or nearly-so if she wants to add some art in the cracks between shots). I'm sure we'll be sending it out soon. We'll also be returning to the audio podcasts soon I hope!

Don't worry! I'm just teasing. I'm happy for Sky to take as long as she needs!

Unrelated: I am only a couple of chapters away from finishing MC. It's simply amazing...I don't want this book to end, I'm having so much fun reading. Thanks for writing it! :)

Grr. Managed to finally edit the original post, but now I can't delete this one.

Oh well. Like I always say, a little redundancy never hurt anyone, like I always say.

I caught up with you at the Million Year Picnic Saturday in Cambridge, and started reading the new book that night. I love it so far - late night in-bed reading hasn't lent itself to following the exercises yet, but I will.

I wanted to comment on how I love the fact that the "Scott" in the book has evolved - intentionally as shown in your character sketches - rounder, sure, and with salt/pepper hair.

Was there such an evolution between "Understanding" and "Reinventing" as well? Subtler perhaps? Or is the "Reinventing" Scott modeled just the same as "Understanding" Scott?

Thanks for your time!

Hi there! I'm Yuko, the geeky gal in the Scary Go Round shirt who talked for a good 40 minutes about Veronica Mars with Sky. It was wonderful to meet all of you, I'm totally envious of your family.

Good luck in Syracuse! Have fun, guys!

Oh -- And Sky and Winter shared the first Winterview with the crowd at RIT. It's great and well worth the wait.
