July 26-29:
Comic-Con!

If you want to see me and the whole family, this is the panel you want (quoted from the Comic-Con official listing):

Friday, 5:30-6:30 pm: Scott McCloud and Family— Award-winning comics artist and author Scott McCloud(Understanding Comics; Making Comics) and his family (Ivy, Sky, and Winter McCloud) recap an incredible year on the road, meeting thousands of comics artists and fans and seeing all 50 states, plus Canada, England and Spain! Want to know the state of American comics in 2007? The Clan McCloud has all the answers! Room 5AB

But if you want to see Sky or Winter (and the rest of us hanging out in the audience most likely) you have three other chances!

Thursday, 6:00-7:00 pm: How To Become an Internet Geek Super-Star— It is the age of video on the Internet, and geeks are leading the charge! If you have interesting stories to tell or a unique take on nerd culture, there is an audience out there for you. Ben Cote (DivX Stage6) will moderate a wide-ranging discussion on how some of the budding stars of the online world found a following of like-minded fans. Guests include Jarett Cale and Geoff Lapaire ("Jeremy" and "Kyle," PurePwnage), Jonathan London (Geekscape), and Zadi Diaz (JetSetShow). [Last minute addition: Sky McCloud!] Room 30CDE

Saturday, 7:00-9:00 pm: CBLDF Benefit Auction— This is the big one! The CBLDF holds its biggest auction of the year at Comic- Con, and this year brings some amazing one-of-a-kind items to raise money for free speech! Primo items include original art by Jim Lee, Jeff Smith, Terry Moore, Charlie Adlard, Norm Breyfogle, Rich Buckler, Brian Stelfreeze, and more! Plus a mind-blowing array of rare signed items, including signed portfolios and books by Frank Frazetta, Richard Corben, Hal Foster, Rebecca Guay, Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, and many others! The Fund will also be auctioning off hot comics, including CGC 9.8 copies of Captain America #25, first printing and variants. Join auctioneer Chuck Rozanski and the CBLDF crew to support the Fund's current casework in Georgia, and help them shore up reserves to protect comics' First Amendment rights against any threat on the horizon. You will need a bidder number for this auction, which can be obtained, along with a full auction list, at the CBLDF booth #1831 or at the start of the event. [Will include a special item donated by Sky] Room 8

Sunday, 12:00-1:00 pm: My Dad Makes Comics!— What does a comics career look like from a kid's eye view? Find out with Sky and Winter McCloud, daughters of Scott McCloud (Making Comics); Alexa Kitchen (Drawing Comics is Easy (Except When it's Hard)), daughter of Denis Kitchen; and Brennan Wagner and Amanda Wagner, son and daughter of Matt Wagner (Grendel, Mage) discuss what it’s like living with dad, the cartoonist. Room 5AB

Also check the HarperCollins booth for a limited edition Making Comics T-Shirt!

See you soon!

I can't make it to SDCC this year, sadly. I love those shirts! Do they have babydoll girl sizes?

I won't be there, which is sad. I live across the country and am a poor student, so I will miss the panels and I won't have a chance to get the shirt. I want that shirt!

Yes, of course I want one too. How? Had I known I would have gotten Ann (my sister who is at the con ever so briefly.. I think she's already left) to buy it.. sigh..
