From Fairbanks Alaska.... it just might be Silent Hill.
Finally getting around to posting something!
Well, I have been gathering pictures for several months and I feel like I have enough to share with everyone.
Please go to my gallery, here! for some of my photos. Each is followed by a little blurb that tells a little about it..... There are at least another ten or so that I have yet to put in the gallery so, when I do I will certainly let you all know! Please enjoy and thanks for looking. :)

PS. My icon is also a photo I took....On my cell phone. I'll post a bigger version sometime soon.

Just a few remotely Silent Hill-ish pictures...
Hi, I'm new here. The idea just seemed genius, and the moment I found the community I thought of a good few places I could take photos of. However, the weather was too miserable to persuade me to go too far, so far now enjoy what little I have. :)

Art History!
I believe I have found the inspiration behind the paintings in the church in Silent Hill 3- some of the religious works of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. Not only the almost baroque lighting style, but much of the imagery and even poses carry over astonishingly well.

I haven't found anything that looks like Birth or Faith, but the rest seem similar enough to be worth pointing out.

Abandoned factory, and, erm, a toilet
I took these photographs over the weekend, of an abandoned factory (at least, that's what I'm assuming it is) in Southampton, UK.

I couldn't get as close to the building as I would have liked, due to the place being fenced off and (according to signs placed on the gates) under 24-hour surveillance, so I had to take most of these pictures by holding my camera through the bars of the fence, but I think they came out okay. :)

Now for a few more photos, taken today, at the scrapyard in my local area. I have previously posted some photos of this place - most prominently the seemingly abandoned garage/house in the middle of the yard, both here & here.

The toilet - a recurring theme in Silent Hill... )

There were also lots of discarded toilets, sinks and baths all over the floor outside this building... except I didn't photograph those. Maybe next time.

maybe japanese silent hill?
http://www.uer.ca/locations/show.asp?locid=21151

The site is about a small japanese island that has been totally abandoned since the 70s. There are some gorgeous and detailed photos toward the bottom of the page.

This article contains a history of the island:

Extreme fog!
The other day, in a small town in Norway known as Rælingen...

I swear, you could taste the mist )

The fog that morning was insane; I almost expected weird critters to crawl out of the hedge and attack, as I entered the car D:
Also, pardon the low quality, all I have is a cellphone-cam.

Old petrol station
Some more photos. I took these the other day, at a derelict petrol/gas station-turned-garage close to where I live.

This place is soon-to-be demolished in order to make way for some new development, so I thought I'd get some photos in while I could.

Under here )

Not quite as good as some of my other pics, but they aren't too bad, I suppose. :)

video/help request
Hey gang,

I have an idea for a SH music video, but I need help gathering clips to use (I'm specifically after footage from games 1-3) as well as some gameplay video captures, without any subtitles.

If anyone has a good collection of video footage and/or knows where to access same and would like to help me out, please let me know.

More scrapyard photos, etc.
Well, I returned to the scrapyard again today, in the hopes of getting a few more shots of the abandoned building that I took exterior shots of in my previous post.

Upon arrival, I was incredibly chuffed to discover that the large garage door had been removed from this building, allowing access to the interior. So, I crept inside, and took a few pictures:

The next three photos were taken at a couple of different locations:

Not as good as my previous photos, in my opinion, but I still like them nonetheless.

First post.
Hello, all - first-time poster here, and I'd like to share a few photos I took whilst wandering around my local area - located in a South-West England town.

These photos were taken in a scrapyard, just a few minutes away from where I live. This yard contains some pretty cool old buildings, some of which appear to be abandoned.

Focus on doors & windows )

These next two pictures were taken at a nearby power station.

Hope you like. :)
