About
This community is dedicated to the genious that he is -Matthew Bellamy

Matthew James Bellamy is the songwriter/guitarist/ keyboard-player and voice of Muse.

Matthew is born the 9th june of 1978 in Cambridge, England. "My mother was from North Ireland, and moved to Belfast. My father was, I believe of Ecosse. They met eachother in London. They went to Cambridge where Matt was born. I was about 5 years old my parents moved to Devon". His dad was very proud of playing the bass in 'Telstar', a single song of the Tornadeos in 1962. He contacted Matt to Blues of Ray Charles and Robert Johnson. He encouraged Matt to learn to play the piano without paying real lessons. Matt learnt the guitar by himself, after a friend learnt him some accords and some basic know-how. He went into music after the divorce of his parents "Music was always my way out. When something went wrong in my family, music was the best remedy." Matt has one older brother, who his parents actually encouraged to get into music rather than Matt, but he didn't want it.

Muse is Matt's fourth band. He was in a band called Carnage Mayhem when he was 12 or 13. Dominic was in a band called Gothic Plague. They were like the cool band in school, that everyone wanted to be in. He ended up joining Dom's band. He got them to kick their guitarist out! Chris was in a band called Fixed Penalty. They used to do gigs together with Gothic Plague. So, it was like a school band thing

The following stuff comes out lots of interviews

Matt had on school: A* for drama, mostly B`s and C`s and the odd D. He didn't like school at all (who did?) because it bored him... it`s all bad sex, cheap drinks and terrible teaching methods.
Matthew likes the Smashing Pumpkins very much. He's seen them live. His favourite record from the S.P. is 'Siamese Dream'.
Matt recommands Millionaires newest album.
